Paying / booking for a cruise? When is best time?
I am looking at a Carnival Cruise May 23, 2015. I first found it about 4 weeks ago at $599. Now the price is $529. So in 4 weeks the price has dropped by $70. Should I book now or wait? I have been told the closer it is to cruising the prices go down a lot because they want to fill the ship up. I have also been told the prices go up peak season and to book now.
This past August I booked a cruise for November at $169.
What is your advice?

3 AnswersCruise Travel7 years agoMother won't allow father to see daughter. Legal advice please!!!!?
I have a friend in a tough situation. He got a girl pregnant and married her. Few months in she started cheating and when baby was born the father wasn't allowed at birth because boyfriend was there. Father was not allowed to see baby till 6 weeks old. It took 2 years to divorce and mother had put in decree no visitations from father; father just signed to get away from mother. They get along worse than oil & water do. He has seen daughter a few times past 3 years, so few the child barely knows who her father is. The mother now has a live-in boyfriend who wants to adopt the child and the mother asked the father to sign his rights over. He doesn't want to sign his rights over because he wants his child to be a part of his life. DHR takes out so much child support from his check he has no money for an attorney at this point. That is ridiculous paying child support for a child you want to see but aren't even allowed to see. The only way the father can see the child is if he goes to the mother's house with her live-in boyfriend there and it is just awkward. And when he does ask to see his daughter she says no because she doesn't know you.
What are his options to fix his situation? I know some lawyers will do pro bono work, but how do you find that. This is the state of Alabama. Can he get DHR to help him in any way? Also he found out the mother doesn't even keep the child clean because the daycare banned the child from going any further, and also because the mother would send her to daycare with inadequate supplies.
Someone please give me some advice to help my friend out. His little girl doesn't need to have her fatehr excluded from her life just because her mother is selfish and a control freak.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoReal estate trade question.?
We want to trade our house (the realtor offered us $160,000) for a house listed at $287,000, but the realtor says since we are trading the house has to go up to $308,000 for the realtor to make a profit. This makes no sense to me or anyone else. Why would we not get that house for $287,000 as it is listed? The realtor's deal would make us lose all our equity in our home.
Can someone please explain this to me?
1 AnswerRenting & Real Estate9 years agoTax filing question on Education Expenses....?
I am filing my taxes right now on Turbo Tax. My parents will claim me as a dependent. They paid for my college tuition in 2011, all of it. Do I claim my college tuition on my taxes or does that go on their taxes?
1 AnswerUnited States9 years agoWhy does my dog think I'm playing with him when I discipline him?
I have a 75 lb male dog, neutered, Pointer breed, 1 yr old. He is extremely hyper and has the most tremendous amount of love for everyone and everything. But when I need to discipline him he thinks I'm trying to play with him. It hurts my hand to spank his rear and even tapping his nose does not phase him, and I've heard dogs don't like their noses messes with, that that is a good way to discipline them. So I bought a crop to whip him with and that still does not phase him, nothing scares him, not even my boyfriend's mean tone. He grabs the whip and trys to play tug of war. Lol I love him and his personality so much, but I need to discipline him sometimes.

9 AnswersDogs9 years agoWho is the baby that Dr. Grey is concerned with on Grey's Anatomy?
Last season, 2010, I remember Grey was pregnant during the hospital shooting and lost it when working on Derrick in the O.R. I think I remember she got pregnant again at the end of last season, but I don't really remember, I don't even remember what happened on the finale. And so this season, 2011, the first show opened with Derrick and Grey arguing over this little girl that they don't have. Who is this baby? Where is it? What is the story? I don't know how I've missed this because I haven't missed an episode EVER in all these years.
Did Grey have the baby and put it up for adoption and now they want it back? Did she miscarriage again and they adopted and lost it and now are fighting to get it back? I'm so confused and lost!
2 AnswersSoap Operas10 years agoWhat is wrong with AC on 2004 Passat?
The past couple weeks my AC started blowing less cold air. It went to cool air, then intermittently blowing cold air/hot air, and now blows nothing but hot air. During the intermittent phase, it would blow cold air in the mornings and at nights, and hot air during the day. Now it just blows hot air every time I get in the car, morning, day, or night.
I can hear my compressor kicking in when I turn my AC on and it blows air out of my vents at the proper pressures when I turn up my AC to is different numbers (ie. 1,2,3,4). I've read something about the fuse being blown online, but if the fuse was blown my compressor would not come on right?
I've talked to some people about it and they all say freon is leaking. I talked to an AC car guy and he said lack of freon but won't work on VWs.
What is your opinion? And a ball park figure on repair costs?
Thanks.
1 AnswerVolkswagen10 years agoWhat is the name of this movie?
I saw this movie years ago and can't remember the name of it. It is based on a true story. This group of friends went to either New Zealand or New Guinea, I don't even remember why they went there. They were floating down a river through a jungle and started disappearing one by one until they were all gone.
One of the guy's father was like a New York Senator or some politician from around there and had a search party sent to find out what happened. Theory is his son was the only one to survive and joined the cannibal tribe there. The movie ends showing a depiction of his son dancing with the tribe during some ceremony; and I believe the credits tell something of his family.
I know you can look this guy's name up in Wikipedia and read about it.
Does anyone know the name of this movie?
4 AnswersMovies10 years agoCan a realtor charge double security deposit?
There are three of us roommates that found a 3 bedroom rental house with an advertised security deposit of $1000. Monthly rent is $1000. When touring the house the realtor said because there are 3 people, the security deposit would double to $2000, and that does not include the first month's rent. Well do you really expect less than 3 people to live in a 3 bedroom house? That sounds like her reason to me. In all my years of rentals, when I have rented a house with the appropriate number of bedrooms for my roommates, we have never been charged double security deposit.
Some people say maybe its because we are young males (we are all 24), but in our previous years of renting at multiple places we have never had this happen. All of our credit checks have already checked out. And I know that age is not a protected class.
Are we being screwed? Some also says this sounds fishy.

4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate10 years agoPre-frozen meats versus fresh meats?
My boyfriend and I argue over pre-frozen meats versus fresh meats. I like to buy fresh and he says it doesn't matter.
For example, I like buying Tyson's individually pre-packaged fresh chicken breasts at Sam's, and their fresh salmon and tilapia. He says they were already frozen when shipped to the store. That may be true, but I feel like they are so much fresher than the already frozen chicken and fish he is accustomed to getting out of the freezer section, the ones that come in those big freezer bags.
When we get his meat like that, when taking it out of the package and then it thaws, it just looks horrible and the texture when cutting it up for cooking is terrible, versus my "fresh" meats I buy. When I buy mine I put them in the freezer when getting home and then thaw out what I need when ready to cook. When mine are thawed out, the meats look so fresh and pretty and cut so nicely.
What are yall's opinion? Are the pre-frozen meats really worse than the "fresh" meats?
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoShould I get rid of my mini laptop for an ipad?
I bought a mini laptop (10") a year ago just so I could have internet access at my work and when on college campus and I am no where near a computer lab. I have also enjoyed it on a road trip in the car, and just wherever and whenever I need internet, because I do not have a smart phone. I use my mini for 95% usage of internet. I might occasionally open a word or excel document. My current internet plan is with Verizon, and it is their only available plan for a mini, and consists of 5GB a month for $60 a month. This is outrageous and I am wasting money considering I only average 800MB of usage per month.
I have recently researched the ipad and was thinking it would be better for me to get rid of my mini and get an ipad because the ipad's service is so much cheaper. I can have 1GB of service with Verizon for $20 a month, or 2GB of service with AT&T for $25 a month. I would save so much money in the long run and eventually those savings would pay for the ipad in itself. I have no problem spending $600 upfront to save down the road.
People have said though the ipad runs off the 3G towers just like smart phones and my mini runs off of mobile broadband which uses satellites. I've also heard the ipad is kind of slow. But I figure it would be like an iphone or droid. And I have noticed my friend's iphone and another friend's droid pulls up things on the internet faster than my mini. I also have another laptop that is my main source for doing school work, etc, my mini is just to pass the time at work because we are not allowed to use their internet, and also to pass the time in between classes at school.
What is your opinion? I don't know why I'm having such trouble deciding this.
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow many cups of noodles should I boil for 6 people?
So, when cooking pasta dishes that use any other noodle besides spaghetti noodles, such as penne, bowtie, rotini, shells, etc., I always have a hard time determining how much noodles to boil. I either boil too many or not enough.
Does anyone know of a set amount of noodles to boil per person, like maybe 1/2 cup per person, or some guideline like that? I'm making chicken alfredo tonight with rotini noodles for 6 people and definitely don't want to be short.
Please some advice. Thanks!
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHas anybody ever encountered this on a cell phone bill?
I have Verizon Wireless and when receiving my cell phone bill for this month, I noticed one of my lines had an extra charge of $12.00. The bill stated that charge was for "Unbilled Minutes from Previous Months". I called customer service and inquired about this and they said it is very rare that this happens, but the software system doesn't always catch every minute for each month, and so it puts those minutes on next months bill. The guy said it has happened to him once while owning a cell phone and that maybe 3 people have called in with this inquiry in the past 4 years he has worked there.
So I was just wondering if anyone else has ever heard of or experienced this because I'm scared I might be being billed for something that is not legitimate.
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhy does my car window not roll down?
I have a 2000 Ford Mustang and my driver side window does not roll down. I hit the button and it rolls down like 1 inch and stops. It does not make any noises, it does not clunk going down, it rolls smoothly and normally for that 1 inch. And then it just stops. I'll hold the button down and the window does nothing, and no noise either. The window also rolls up just perfectly like it should, no troubles rolling up.
So what do you think it could be? Is it the regulator, is there a short in the wiring possibly since it just quits rolling down, I don't think anything is stopping it from rolling down.
Also where can I find on the internet a how-to diagram and/or guide to fix the window myself?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do I need to file income taxes for a sole proprietorship?
My boyfriend has filed for an EIN number for his sole proprietorship and opened a separate bank account for it as well under that EIN. He works for his Uncle's company and gets paid a check weekly. He is not on the payroll books and so therefore has not filled out a W-4 and he is not currently paying taxes. I know if you get paid this way you have to figure out some way of paying yourself into your personal checking account and need to keep up with legitimate business expenses.
How does he pay himself? And how does he need to file his taxes? Does he need to file quarterly? And what forms does he need to use?
I am trying to help him with this. Have not found much on internet, everything is so confusing. Can anyone give some advice or direct me to a great internet source that is easy to understand?
Thanks.

My house is only 3 years old, and I am the only owner that has lived here only 2 years after it sitting on the market for the first year. Now all of a sudden when I turn on the fan in one bedroom it trips the breaker for that room. Also, always in the kitchen every time I have ever plugged in anything into the kitchen outlets they also spark. And then also just yesterday when I turned off the light in the den, the light switch sparked too.

6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoShould I paint my bathroom an exotic blue before I sell my house?
We have been in our brand new house for 2 years and are wanting to move out in the next 6 months. The house is all one color, a neutral color. My sister all of a sudden wants to paint her bathroom an exotic blue color to match her towels. I don't think we should bc I don't think a buyer would want to buy an all neutral house with 1 bathroom off the wall color. I know they could paint it but why the hassle of us painting if we're about to move?
What are your opinions?

I am updating to Windows 7 from Windows Vista. I have 3GB RAM, 32-bit OS, and 300GB hard drive. There is 5 steps to the installation and the first 2 steps completed fine. The 3rd step, Expanding Windows Files, is stalled. I started yesterday at 5:00pm and let my laptop run overnight and it is now 10:45am the next day and it is still stuck in the 3rd step. I see no option to cancel.
Please advise as to what I should do. Or should I just continue to wait?
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoPhysics II help!!! charges and potential energy?
The question is:
What if initially a charge 2.4C is put on shell #1 with radius 3.0m, then a far away shell #2 (initially neutral) with radius 8.6m is connected to shell #1 by a long conducting wire.
a) What is the final charge on shell #1?
b) What is the final charge on shell #2?
c) What is the electric potential V on shell #1?
d) What is the electric potential V on shell #2?
I thought if the 2 shells were connected by a wire longer than their radii then the electric charges of the two did not affect each other. And when I use the V equation of V=ke(q1/r1) I get the wrong answers.
Please help! Thanks.
