Pre-frozen meats versus fresh meats?
My boyfriend and I argue over pre-frozen meats versus fresh meats. I like to buy fresh and he says it doesn't matter.
For example, I like buying Tyson's individually pre-packaged fresh chicken breasts at Sam's, and their fresh salmon and tilapia. He says they were already frozen when shipped to the store. That may be true, but I feel like they are so much fresher than the already frozen chicken and fish he is accustomed to getting out of the freezer section, the ones that come in those big freezer bags.
When we get his meat like that, when taking it out of the package and then it thaws, it just looks horrible and the texture when cutting it up for cooking is terrible, versus my "fresh" meats I buy. When I buy mine I put them in the freezer when getting home and then thaw out what I need when ready to cook. When mine are thawed out, the meats look so fresh and pretty and cut so nicely.
What are yall's opinion? Are the pre-frozen meats really worse than the "fresh" meats?

Your prepackaged meats are the better and shouldn't be frozen, just chilled.
If they have been frozen they should be clearly marked and used within 2-3 days, or whatever it says.
The FDA will say they shouldn't be refrozen but it is safe. It'd Govt BS guidelines.
Your boyfriends meat will be OK as well, l but it will not be as well frozen like the shrink wrapped packaging,
Personally you are better to get your fresh meats, and open the package and wrap them individually and freeze.
I bought 3 bacon steaks today and as soon as I got home I put two into 2 sandwich bags so they will not stick together, and then placed them into a used zip-lock bag.
I don't see the need not to use one that had things like frozen veggies in. I wouldn't do it the other way.
Using the sandwich bags are a lot cheaper than using a ziplock bag, and it is easier to ssqueezethe air out.
