I just moved into an apartment 4 days ago. I noticed that most of the ceiling vents were completely closed. It looks like someone at some time tried to keep them open by using zip ties. But it didn't work. I just took 1 down to try and see why it would not open. It has a very strong spring on it. Why put springs in vents to keep them closed ? That just defeats the purpose of a vent. Any ideas before I ask the landlord and maybe get in trouble because I took the spring off so the heat could come through. It works now though.

I'm having to move from a house to an apartment for the 1st time in a long long time. How noisy is it going to be? How long does it take to get over that claustrophobic feeling? Right now I'm not looking forward to this even if it does have a slightly positive side.

I live in North Ga and Comcast has gotten outrageously priced. I'm considering changing cable and Internet to AT&T Uverse. I've asked around and everyone seems to have different opinions of their service. We like to watch TV from the Internet so I'm also concerned with speed and prices. I'm open to opinions.

Can you help me simplify this rational expression please?

I have a 2002 Pontiac Montana. 3 days ago I went out early morning (it was still cool) to go to work. I started my van and immediately the power locks started locking and unlocking by themselves. The interior lights also started flashing on and off because the doors were unlocking. It was scary to say the least. I hit the switch to turn off the interior lights which helped some, but the locks kept going until I put the gear shift into Drive and drove for about 30 feet. At that point the locks were ok. I went and checked on it at lunch time and all was fine, as was after work. It has done the same thing every Early morning since then. But never afternoon or evening. Also 2 days ago the headlights won't go off while van is cranked. They're supposed to, they always have. I think it's the electrical system but that's all I've got. I don't have a trusted mechanic to take it too and don't know where to start. Please help if you can. This is my only vehicle and only way to work to support my daughter.

We keep finding 2 types of spiders in our house. The first has a tan-light brown body and legs with what looks like black vertical stripes on its back. I really didn't want to get that close except to kill it. They're always on the carpet which makes them very hard to spot. Pretty sure It's not a brown recluse.

The 2nd is a plain black spider that likes to hide in clothes and towels.They like to hide in & under items No other markings that I've observed. We have to shake all clothes out, almost literally take the beds apart before we get into them.

Please help and how can we kill them. We also have a pet in the house and we don't want anything to harm her.

I work at JC Penneys in the Metro Atlanta Area.

Most of us are part time. Management has started scheduling all part timers for shifts that are only 3-4 hours at a time. We'll get an 11:00am - 2:30pm, 4pm - 8pm, or 6pm - 9:15 pm. It sometimes takes 3 days to make a "whole" shift.

Does anyone know if they are doing this company wide or is it only our Gwinnett Mall Store? 11 - 17 hours a week, broken up in 3-4 hours shifts makes it really hard to even get another part time job to just try and pay the bills.

Anyone information is greatly appreciated.

I currently have Comcast Internet (regular cable, not wireless). ATT is offering their DSL Lite for 19.99 and you don't have to have a land line phone. Is ATT going to be as fast as cable? Would I still be able to Watch streaming videos on-line?

know someone who goes to Lima, Peru several times a year. He always brings back DVD movies that haven't been released here in the United States yet. He says that when a new movie premieres in theaters there it is released on DVD the same day. Apparently you can buy any new in the theater movie in shops there. He keeps insisting they're legal copies. But the box covers always have bogus info, special features never work and you can't change language from spanish to english except on a computer even though there is a language option.

Is this true? Or are they counterfeit copies. He says you can walk in any store and buy any newly released movie

I'm also going to offer "how to" & power tools 101 classes; and free classes for womens shelters.

But I need a name for my business. Something really good. I can't come up with anything. Help me please!

I'd really like to make something I can sell. I was thinking maybe a paper angel pattern, or a really nice, but easy paper christmas star. Does anyone have any ideas? Please, only serious replies. I know I'm no the only single mom out here trying to make extra money for my family. Thank you in advance for your help and ideas.
