Question for moms that went into preterm labor?
I am just wondering what everyone's experiences were? If you were in preterm labor at the hospital, and they were able to stop it, did you eventually go into labor again (days or weeks later)? How long after the first time? Has anyone carried to full term after the premature labor?
I was in labor for 5 hours last night, finally the Terbutaline they gave me @ the hospital stopped the contractions. I am taking things extra easy now, but still worried about a re-occurrence.
2 AnswersPregnancy6 years agoSick/lethargic Chinese Crested Puppy - 5 weeks old?
I know this place isn't usually the best for a helpful/ non snide comment.. But I am trying to do anything I can to make sure this baby makes it.
I took the whole litter to the vet yesterday. He said two puppies had hypoglycemia and the mothers milk was possibly toxic. I was told to take them off of mothers milk immediately and not use Goats milk in their food because of constipation.
I am supposed to give them .1ml of SMZ twice daily and 0.25ml of Nutri-cal three times daily, along with honey water periodically. They were de-wormed at 4 weeks with Pyrantel.
One of the hypoglycemic puppys has been thriving, she has not gone cold and limp again and is full of pep. The other hypoglycemic puppy will not eat, I have to syringe feed him everything. I have had him on and off the heating pad all day because of his temperature drops. He is the runt and is a true hairless. He will sit and cry, and he does not seem to progress. I called the vet again and he says it is the hypoglycemia, however nothing seems to change when he gets his honey water or Nutri-cal.
If anyone knows what might be wrong with him, and could maybe lead me in the right direction, please help me.
Thanks so much.
5 AnswersDogs8 years agoWhat breed of dog is he mixed with?
When we got him, we saw his mother, and she was a beautiful white and black pit bull. The people were trying to sell the pups as pure pits. (you could tell the hair was wayy to long). I was wondering what everyone thought his other half may be? He is super tall and sturdy. His coat is plush and dark brindle. He weighed 84 pounds at his last vet check.
14 AnswersDogs8 years agoAnyone know where I can find a "Hank" bred pit bull?
We had to put my baby girl to sleep this morning, she was losing her battle with cancer. I am trying to find another gamebred apbt down from (BURTON'S HANK.)
This is her pedigree if that helps. If anyone knows of a message board or anything to lead me in the right direction, please let me know. All I can find are people trying to peddle those "bully" things as pits. I really would love to find another girl that has her coloring. Thanks!
2 AnswersDogs8 years ago11 days late, negative pregnancy tests, pregnancy symptoms ?
I am 11 days late. I have a very normal 28 day cycle. I took 2 pregnancy tests (2 days apart), both were negative. I went in for blood testing today and should have results in the next few days. Has anyone heard of being this late and still being pregnant with a negative pee test? I have NEVER been more than one day late... However with my daughter the test was positive even before my missed period.
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoQuestion for Experienced Chinese Crested Owners ONLY?
I purchased a beautiful 1 year old TH female. She came with full registration AKC papers. I was wondering what would be a reasonable price for her? I want to see if I paid the right amount, too much, or too little. I have spent a few days looking through breeder sites, but its hard to find out the truth when everyone is trying to sell something. I wanted to look into buying her a female friend, but want to make sure I am looking in correct price ranges. Also the woman I bought her from was not her breeder. I do not know about her genetic background, heath testing and such. She looks to be the AKC standard from what I read and watched on the AKC produced showing video. I do plan to get her eyes tested etc.
Thanks in advance
1 AnswerDogs9 years ago16 month old daughter is not affectionate?
Please only answer if you have personally had this problem.
My 16 month old likes to sleep away from us. She does not like being hugged or kissed either. She wants us to pay attention to her constantly, but stay out of her bubble. Usually toddlers I see are very loving with their parents.
Has anyone else raised a toddler with a similar personality? Did they ever get more affectionate?
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agoWhere is the cheapest place online to buy hamster cages?
I was wondering if anyone knew of any really good online stores for CHEAP hamster/mice cages? Google doesn't show anything spectacular.
3 AnswersRodents9 years agoMy 18 year old cat was diagnosed with liver failure and turning yellow with jaundice?
I just want to know when I should get him put to sleep. They said I could put him on IVs and try to fight it, but at his age, and with his diabetes etc... I dont want to put him through any more pain. I don't want to let him go until I have to either. He is still sleeping with us in bed, rubbing up against us and purring. He has completely stopped eating, and throws up white foam here and there.
Would it be cruel for me to enjoy his company for a few more days? He seems to be in good spirits despite his condition. I don't want him to suffer, but he dosnt seem to be taken down completely yet.
5 AnswersCats9 years agoDoes this sound like a gall bladder problem?
My apendisidis tests were negative, and I am going in for gall bladder tests on Monday. I was just wondering if anyone has had these symptoms, and what their diagnosis was. After eating my stomach bloats into a hard balloon (specially at the top). I have light but persistant nausea. Greasy foods seem to flare it all up the worst. Sometimes I will actually throw up. This has been going on for a month now.
2 AnswersDiabetes9 years agoOur daughter wont sleep in our room?
Our one year old daughter is very independent. She won't sleep in our room, and throws a fit until we put her in her own room. She also hates kisses and snuggles and we are both very affectionate parents. Have any other parents had this issue? We feel much safer when she is with us, and didnt expect her to already want this much space.
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agoAre all dobermans weird and skiddish, or am I just getting poorly bred dogs?
I usually foster and re-home pitbulls. Not through any organization, I just end up running across them loose a lot, or save them on craigslist. Lately I ended up with a flood of Dobermans.
I had one 5 year old female, one 6 month old female, and a 4 year old male. Each one of them was very skiddish and aloof. Maybe since I am so used to pits they just seem so scared and meek. I ended up finding a home for the girls and kept the male.
He lives in the house with full run of every room (for nearly a year now). He will cower if a voice is raised. He is very scared of thunder and will hide under my legs or sprint across the house when he hears it. He normally just slinks around the house looking paranoid. I was just wondering if I have just seen poorly bred dobermans, or if this is how the breed acts? They are nothing like what I thought they would be.
My moms chihuahuas seem to have better nerves than these dobies. Don't get me wrong, I love him, and he will live his days out in our home regardless. He loves my daughter and is gentle with the family... but I just really have to wonder if this is what dobermans are all about. I have to walk on egg shells with to to make sure nothing I do will be upsetting.
10 AnswersDogs9 years agoMy 6 week old rat is lethargic and slow?
My friend breeds dumbos, and a few weeks ago I got a male and a female from her. The female is fine. However the male is not. I was surprised when I went to hold him today, and he was easy to hold, he usually wants to squeeze out of my hands. I checked on him about 6 hours later and he is sick. I was keeping him in with 2 hairless males (5 weeks old) and they are still healthy and normal. I took him out and put him in his own cage.
He wont eat or drink, his body feel a little cold, his eyes look a little cloudy and he seems to be a bit off balance. I have a lot of pet rats, and everyone else is just fine.
Anyone have this sort of behavior happen before? Any idea on what could be wrong? Thanks
