  • Why isn't African Languages passed down to African Americans?

I havent found this question anywhere else online, I wanted to know why African Languages that so many Africans speak in Africa, aren't languages that black people naturally speak here as a second language, I'm just curious, I mean I've been raised around alot of hispanics and other races and they all have been raised with their culture language around them and they may have immediate family members from that country or maybe not, but them themselves aren't from there but they have that knowledge of their own language here in America. Along with hispanics and other races I see. I know as African slaves we were brought here by force and forced to conform and change our ways but how is it that it's so bad that we don't even have a trace of our native language or even words that we can speak to each other, how can that be forgotten? It just doesn't make any sense to me when families of other cultures can be from America and still speak Spanish or tagalog. I know its a very deep, and painful history of Africans to African Americans in america but if anyone can help me understand a little bit of why this is or share something I maybe haven't thought about, I'd really appreciate it, thank you. God Bless.

  • How do you begin auditioning for local independent films?

Hi, I've always dreamed of being an actor, ever since I was little and the passion for it has only grown to now, every time I watch a good movie with a unique story I like, I'm always picturing myself in the roles and thinking of what I would do, but anyways, I've decided recently that I'd like to start auditioning for independent films, I used to dislike the idea because I thought it was beneath me but I've realized how much i love the art and that it doesn't matter where I do it as long as I get the chance to, and also that it's a great place for me to get my feet wet as I enjoy other passions of mine in art, I just wanted to know, if you don't have a portfolio or an agent, or any kind of acting experience yet, how do you go audition for the independent roles, I've read online that you don't necessarily need an agent for the non major film roles, but could I actually just go into an audition for an indie without the portfolio and things to give it a try? I live in the San Francisco bay area btw. Thank you guys for any advice and suggestions you may have for me, I really appreciate it all, God Bless.

  • How do I draw fema body proportion by 8 heads?

Hi, I've been learning alot about the human body proportion online and alot of what I've learned like 8 heads tall for males and muscles and proportions for males has been the easiest, and I at first thought I was doing the right thing with the female 8 heads length body, and I was in terms of drawing body differences and the proportion, but when I learned that the female body for 8 heads tall is supposed to be smaller even though it's still 8 heads, I've been really confused, I've been watching many YouTube vids and reading articles about it and I still don't get it, when you draw it, do the size of the units need to be smaller too? and How does the female head in the top unit need to be smaller to get the body to follow too? I just don't get how the units are supposed to contain the same body parts as the male's with the height difference. Sorry for so much to read, I just really want to get over this bump, if anyone can understand what I'm saying and suggest something I maybe haven't thought of, I'd really appreciate it, thank you :)

  • Are mid 90s and late 90s/early 2000s babies apart of the same generation?

I was just wondering because i was born in 1995, and i know there are alot of obvious differences between my generation and the late 90s babies, like of course, weve gotten to see the last kind of renaissance of Disney's 2D animation, atleast so far, of like "Lilo and Stitch", "Treasure Planet", and "Atlantis", and how weve known what its like without aot of high technology or atleast an overwhelming of it, with only having myspace or instant messaging, weve known what the simple life is like, and being the last generation to use VCRs like i have, and have them, and have alot of 2D animated tv shows and not alot of 3D animated shows, and with us, we had to grow into this digital revolution, especially for me during high school, the huge increase of technology and devices that alot of people began using in their lives and new websites that became apart of the norm like Tumblr and Twitter, alot of people had alot of instant access to alot of things, and to me, a person who doesnt really follow what anybody else does, was hard for me to cope with and understand present life, almost overwhelming, and as ive seen over the years and how it is now, it only plans to get more and more fast and less simple, and im just wondering, with all of the things that me and my generation have had that the latter 90s and early 2000s babies didnt know existed, can we still really be put into the same generation ? I also know that being born in the mid 90s, weve been able to be a bridge from the early 90s to the late 90s, so as i was in high school, i did get to see the shift from simpleness to complicated, almost overwhelming technology use, and im just wondering with all of the differences between my generation and the latter year groups, are we still able to be put in the same generation ?

  • Are composers specifically sensitive ?

Hi, ive ALWAYS been amazed and happy when i listen to classical music, romantic era, film soundtracks, anything thats emotional, and heart warming, and makes me feel, and really grabs and touches my heart and makes me feel kind of, sensitive, when i listen to it, and i was wondering, because alot of people say that artists are sensitive, or that theyre more sensitive than others, even though were all sensitive and we ALL feel, but i can agree that it could be different for artists somehow, because theyre more connected to the "inside", and are more "spiritual" in ways, but i was just wondering are composers especially sensitive ? Because people like James Horner, John Williams, James Newton Howard, Alan Menken, Thomas Newman, Joe hasaishi, Randy Newman, and the romantic era with Debussy, and Chopin, and so MANY other composers who make this music that i hear, that just brings out all of these beautiful feelings out of me, and tell my heart, and make me cry, and that do all these beautiful things to me, and i was just wondering, for a human being to make music that affects and does all of that to another person, are composers really sensitive ? Like are they more sensitive than other artists might be ? Its just something i cant help thinking about, because nothing affects me deeply as much as music does. Thank you all for your answers and suggestions. God Bless.

  • Does listening to beautiful classical music make or mean youre sensitive ?

I listen to classical music alot, i always have, and ive always embraced it and loved it, and mostly its the music that makes me feel alot, and makes me cry, and alot of the times when i listen to it, it makes me feel more beautiful and sensitive or at peace, im sure it does this to other people too, but i was wondering exactly, does classical music mean im a sensitive person ? Or could it make me sensitive ? Because ive kind of always been a sensitive person, and thats another reason why classical music and film soundtracks have always felt "at home", but i just thought this was a good question, because if it does, it makes alot of sense why i like and have enjoyed it so much. Thank you all for your answers. God Bless.

  • Does having sex appeal mean youre beautiful ?

I was just wondering, because i see in the media and "hollywood" that usually the "most beautiful girls in the world" or "most attractive women" seem to be just sexy or have sex appeal to me, i never really see them as somebody strikingly beautiful or stunning to where i stop what im doing, i kind of just see another girl with sex appeal or something like that, and im just wondering, in case im wrong, doesnt sex appeal mean attracting people sexually ? Or does it mean being strikingly, stunningly beautiful too ? I know beauty and class is a whole another thing than to just showing off body with no class, but nowadays it can feel like a blur a little...

  • Who was the anime artist who innovated anime the most to where it all is right now ?

Hi, i was wondering what cartoonist or artist innovated anime the most to where everything now is coming from that or copies that ? I know alot of people will say Osamu Tezuka, but i mean nowadays with all of the funny anime facial expressions, and the way they show emotions, and the comedy and such, who was the artist who mightve been the first to do these things and make it popular ? Was it all just everybody doing it individually and over time ? Im just curious, because i notice alot of anime that comes out nowadays isnt so innovative or groundbreaking anymore, or maybe there is and im just not looking in the right places, but ive been watching anime for a number of years, and ive just noticed the comedy style or the way they show emotions and the facial expressions kind of look the same in alot of anime shows, maybe just the feel of the shows, and i was just wondering who mightve been the first artist to do any of this or make it popular ? Just wondering if its anybody besides Osamu Tezuka, who i love for doing what he did, thanks for all of the answers and suggestions you guys give me, thank you and God Bless.

  • Who influenced James Brown and his dance moves ?

I was just wondering since i love Michael Jackson SO MUCH, and ive always wanted to be a dancer and singer like him, and ive studied his dance moves all of my life and his songs, and i especially love his moves and being on youtube for a long time, ive noticed in certain videos that Michael took alot of things that James did and made them into his own style, as any artist should, and i love both of their styles, knowing that Michael Jackson was influenced by a wide range of greats like Sammy Davis Jr, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Bojangles, Jackie Wilson, Charlie Chaplin, The Lockers, and the Nicholas Brothers and im sure alot of others, but for him it was especially James Brown and how Michael incorporated Jame's moves into his own style and made them his own, also knowing that Michael choreographed as well, but who influenced James Brown's moves ? Did he invent all of those moves that he did and that then Michael did ? Did he take moves from somewhere ? Did he choreograph everything too ? Any answers or suggestions you guys give me is very appreciated, im very curious of the people that influence and inspire me and whats influenced them, thank you and God Bless.

  • Did Michael Jackson choreograph his whole Billie Jean "Motown 25" performance by himself ?

Hi everybody, i was wondering if Michael Jackson choreographed his whole "Billie Jean" Motown 25 performance that he did in 1984 where he introduced the moonwalk in his style and made it popular, i know his routine is individualistic and its his own style, and its always been an influence on me and my dancing and made me want to become a dancer at 3 but i was just wondering, was his whole routine his own ideas and choreography by himself ? I know that hes asked alot of people of soul train for help in videos including a Jeffrey Daniels and i was just wondering, if for that particular popular performance, did he have any of their help or was it all just his own ideas and alot of practice ? Im just curious, thank you all for the information and answers, and God Bless.

  • Who did the "opening door music" in the beginning of MJ's "Smooth Criminal" video?

Hi, i was just wondering sine ive always loved classical music and all music really, especially Michael Jackson's since im an upcoming music artist myself, and i was just wondering about the music of where Michael opens the door to the 1930s club in the beginning of "Smooth Criminal", who composed it ? I always with or without noticing, find myself humming the tune because it sounds so beautiful even though its short, but still im interested in who composed it ? I have a bunch of composer favorites which is too many to name but mostly the romantic era composers mainly like Beethoven and Schumann and Strauss and Grieg and Faure and also two of my favorite film composers John Williams and James Horner, i know ALOT more but anyways, just again saying my love for beautiful music haha, but if you dont know the short music that im talking about, i have the link of the HD youtube video below, and the orchestral music is mainly from the beginning of the video at 00:23 but the part of Michael "opening the door music" is at about 00:37, and id just like to know who composed the short piece of opening orchestral music that i love, besides the genius of Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones's "Smooth criminal" and other masterpieces alone and together, though it could be either of them or another composer, but thank you all for the answers you give me, i appreciate the attention given to my question, and i hope somebody can answer me because i love classical music and id maybe like to know if "the composer" went on to do other music i may already know or might like to know, thank you again for the help, i love you and god bless.

  • Where can i find soft classical music and jazz combined ?

Does anybody know of any classical music that has jazz in it, or nice ambient music or music therapy that has healing qualities or is soft and beautiful that also has jazz in it and shows two of the worlds, i listen to so much music like EVERYTHING, but my favorite most soothing is classical music or music therapy, pretty much the same, they both heal me and tell me my pain and make me relax and feel better and i know jazz has its own way of doing this and is soothing too, so if anybody knows any jazz influenced classical music or music therapy-jazz, id really be interested in it, thank you all for your help, and God Bless.
