  • Will these lilies be okay?

I was given Easter lilies by a friend. I didn't want to plant them yet because it still gets cold at night.

I had them in my room for a few days, where it's rather dark and there's very little sunlight at all. I watered it whenever the soil got dry, but this morning, I put them out on the front porch to get some sunlight. I went to class, and then after that I went on an unexpected trip to see my brother. By the time I got home it was late, and I completely forgot about my lilies until now. I went out to get them and they had been knocked over somehow. While it was 60's all day, it dropped down into the 30's and 20's once the sun went down. I brought them in, but they're cold and the leaves and flowers are sagging. I'm afraid I killed them. I don't think they'll survive, but I wanted to ask to be sure. I keep looking up husbandry for them, but nothing says whether or not they'll be able to survive the cold.

Can anyone give me some insight on this?

  • I'm a minor - can I see a psychologist without my parents knowing?

    Legally, I mean.

I've been seeing the school counselor for over a year now, and she believes I'm to the point where I need to see a psychologist to see if I need to start taking medication or getting a higher level of help.

The problem is I don't want my parents to know. My three brothers all had depression, one of them emotionally delayed and the other suffers from bi-polar disorder. One of them self-harmed. My father was barely supportive of them and only got help for them once it got to the point of possible suicide.

My mother on the other hand while supportive, has gone through so much. People around her have killed themselves, all my brothers struggling, my other brother being in prison, my dad being very angry and depressed all the time (but he refuses to admit he as problems). She's seeing a counselor and taking anxiety medication. She is just so sad and physically sick all the time. I don't want to worry her.

I want to see a psychologist because I'm having my own problems, but my counselor has told me that I have to inform my parents if I do.

Now, I've talked to some other people who got help and they told me that I can see one without them knowing, and they only have to be told if I'm a danger to others or myself.

Me? I'm 14 years old and I attend a middle college in Michigan, or I take college classes that count for both highschool and college credit.

Unfortunately the only services they have at this little community college campus is counseling, nothing else. At the main campus they do have health services, but I can't get there myself.

I also need to know that if I can see a psychologist, how do I find a low-cost or free services?

    Thanks.

  • Sims won't get married at wedding party?

This is making me really mad. I have the Sims 3 for the Xbox.

My sims went steady, got engaged, and here we are at the wedding party.

I got their social interaction up to "extremely irresistible"... but the option to marry is not appearing under romantic interactions.

Glitch? They've been interacting romantically all day since the part started at noon, and it's now 7 in game time. The option is still not coming up.

Can someone help me out? I'm at wits end and extremely frustrated.

  • Can I take my puppy into my backyard?

She is currently going on 8 weeks as of this Friday. At the 8 week mark she will get her first round of shots as well as another dose of wormer. She has already gotten wormed when she was 6 weeks old.

The question is, can I take her out and walk her around in my backyard now, before she gets her first shot? It is fenced in, so no animals get in besides squirrels and birds that I don't know about.

I have two other dogs already that are outside most of the time, both of them have been of course vaccinated and fully wormed. Occasionally I will have friends bring their dogs over, but I have checked with them and they all have kept their dogs UTD on their worms and vaccines.

I am not going to walk her in public until she is done with her shot series, of course, but I'd still like her to get used to the harness and leash.

    So basically my question is:

Is it okay to take her out into the backyard before she gets all her shots, or should I wait?

  • What is my best approach to reaching my career goal?

In the future, I hope to get my law degree, pass the BAR exam and become a prosecutor (ADA?), and work my way up to eventually becoming a District Attorney.

At this point in time I am attending a Middle College. If I had remained in public education I would currently be in 8th grade but now I'm in dual-enrollment in which I will take college and high school classes, or I might just take college classes which meet the requirements for me to pass college. I am likely to start taking nearly full time college classes next semester, or possibly next year.

If I work quick enough (I'm still somewhat vague about this), apparently I can finish with an associates degree/60 transferable college credits from this community college, then move onto the local university to get a bachelor's degree at no cost there. I'm still iffy on this, so please answer assuming both if I only have an associates/60 credits, and another answer if it is the case that I can get a bachelors from said university.

I'm currently attending a community college - what type of associates degree should I work towards, or would a general studies degree be fine?

    So, basically:

    1) if I graduate from Middle College with an associates degree/60 credits, what would I do next?

-- additionally, how long would it take to get a bachelor's degree afterward? I heard that an associates degree is already half of a bachelor's degree, but I don't fully understand yet.

    2) if I graduate from Middle College with an associates/60 credits, and get a bachelor's from the local university, what would be my next step? Keep in mind I'm hoping to get into University of Michigan.

Also, what bachelor's degree would be the best and help me get through Law School at University of Michigan?

Thank you for any thought out answers.

  • Which school is a better law school, University of Michigan or Michigan State University?

Right now I'm starting to think about future law schools, and both of these schools are in my home state (horrible, isn't it?), which means I won't have to be far from friends and family. Not only that, but from my understanding they're both some of the nation's best law schools. Not only that but they're not as expensive as Yale or Harvard and it's more likely I'll get accepted into MSU or U of M.

So which is it? U of M or MSU?

  • What is the best live mouse trap?

I'm doing some research on mice at the moment, and I need to find a good -live- mouse trap. I need a trap that

-costs under ten dollars. I have to buy traps in bulk

-doesn't kill the mouse, of course

-can sustain a mouse for several hours in case I do not get around to releasing the mouse right away

I am not going to use the home-made trash can or inverted pop bottle methods because a) while it's cheap, it's hardly effective for me and b) you can't exactly use a trash can trap in the middle of a field.

  • How do you test for pesticides in food?

Okay, so everyone's heard of the big hype about pesticides, about how they are dangerous and that organic food should be purchased instead of store brands. While I don't want to hear a debate about this, I want to simply know how the EPA and websites such as whatsonmyfood test for the carcinogens and hormone supplements that they have found in various types of food.

I want to know if there's a simple home way of testing food for pesticides, and how to determine if the amount of pesticides found on the food is healthy or not. I'd like to do this project for a science experiment, and I'd like to find out once and for all if I should really be concerned about pesticides on my food.

  • Okay, I seriously need help with my internet?

Recently I got rid of AV Security Suite (or I'd like to believe so). I turned off the proxy it kept on coming back through as instructed by bleepingcomputer, but setting it back to normal mode, I can't connect to the internet. It simply says 'server not found'. I also cannot view my internet settings on the control panel or my firewall settings because apparently I need to connect to the internet to view my firewall settings.

I made a thread on bleeping computer a day ago, and I still haven't gotten any luck, no responses what so ever. Could anyone help me? I don't know what to do.

  • Can viruses spread through flashdrives?

Okay, so my computer caught the virus AV Security Suite. Currently I am on a different computer.

My flash drive was plugged into the computer. I was able to run it in safe mode and remove it with MalwareBytes, but I've done this twice and I'm afraid it's on my flash drive. I scanned the flashdrive again with MalwareBytes and it came up with nothing. I'd like to put the flash drive in my clean computer so I can put rkill on it, but I'm worried the virus will spread from my flashdrive to the computer. Will it spread?

  • How do you view video responses on YouTube?

Don't think me an idiot. I've been using YouTube for nearly three years. It used to be right in your face, right under the video, but now it's hard to find your way around. The new setup is absolutely ridiculous. I hoped that when they changed the channels they would stop there, but the new layout looks like it was designed by a seven year old.

I only recently figured out how to add something to your playlist or favorite, but now I want to see the video responses to videos, and I can't figure out how. Help?

  • Pet mouse has developed sores?

My albino mouse, who is otherwise healthy, has developed three sores - one towards the base of her tail, one on the back of her head and one inside her ear. She is definitely an otherwise healthy mouse. She's about 7 months old, a little bit of a senior.

I'm mostly concerned about the fact that she's steadily been getting more sores, one of which has started bleeding, and I'm concerned for infection. What could this be, and is there anyway to treat it?

  • How long should I wait after stomach flu symptoms are gone to return to school?

So, I've puked about three times and have come close to it. My mother assumes I have a stomach bug and I can't keep anything down but ginger ale and saltine crackers. I might have a little jello soon.

I'm not as nauseated, but I do have a headache, fever and fatigue that are still needed to clear up. I was wondering a few things:

-How long I should wait after the symptoms are gone to return to school?

-What other foods can I eat while I'm sick?

-How long after the symptoms show should I consult a doctor if they haven't left?

Even if you can't answer more than one of the questions, I'd be grateful for any help.

  • My mouse is eating her own droppings?

I was watching my mouse eat. She was nibbling on some sunflower seeds when I realized that I needed to remove sometime from her cage. I did so, and she dropped the seed, investigating the spot where I had removed it, and then ran over to a spot close to where she was eating the seeds, and started eating away at her own droppings. It was only for a minute. I tapped on the tank, she dropped it, and went back to eating the seeds.

I'm curious as to why she did this, seeing as she had oats, strawberries, barley, bird seed, carrots and other foods out. Perhaps she just mistook it for the sunflower seeds?

  • What vitamin supplements are safe for rodents?

Hello, I am running an experiment for the school science fair. The problem/question:

Do enriching vitamins such as vitamin B6 and vitamin E increase brain function and provide the brain with better memory, attentiveness, etc.?

I read about this experiment briefly in a Health magazine, where a girl about my age ran a similar test with two mice. I only have one, my pet mouse Ella.

I want to run two trials: one diet without extra vitamin enrichment when I test to see how quickly the mouse can navigate the maze and reach the treat/bait after running it a first time. The second trial will be for another two weeks, and then I will see how quickly she can navigate the maze after being on a vitamin enriched diet. The claimed results are that when the mouse is on a diet of vitamins such as Omega-3, vitamin B6, vitamin E, etc., she will be able to remember and navigate the maze faster.

However, I am not willing to put my mouse under any kind of pain. I know there are vitamin supplements out there that contain vitamins such as Omega-3, yadda yadda.

I want to know where there are some safe ones for mice.

I am making sure this is not a negative test and doesn't cause my mouse any harm in anyway. If anything, it should cause improvement to her memory, attentiveness, concentration, etc.

If you believe this is not a safe experiment, or you can find a website where it gives directions for this assignment, please let me know here.

    tl;dr;

I need to find some safe vitamin supplements for my pet mouse.

  • My ball python isn't eating. Please help?

This is the same thing that happened last year. My ball python, which is around 3-4 years old and well over two feet long, refuses to eat. He's showing no/vague interest in the mouse I've had for a month now.

The thermometer and the hydrometer are broken, so I'm not sure of what the temperature is. I'll be getting a new one soon.

This is the same thing that happened last year. Last year, he went into this state from November to several months later. I can't recall when exactly he was finally finished shedding and would accept food, but.

I've read that some ball pythons will go in a feeding fast from October or November through March or April.

I'm just concerned because it seems like he's lost weight. His skin is wrinkled (it might be because he's shedding), he's acting sluggish, etc., typical signs of shedding.

I'm just wondering if it is normal for this to happen. I don't really need ways to feed him, just to know whether or not this is safe/normal.

  • What is defined as fair use under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976?

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

Many people use this against YouTube to get videos put back up, as well as getting their accounts back. Thing is, sometimes it seems vague on what exactly the video was used for. People often use music for animations, fan videos, etc. and can stick this in with that law.

I had my account suspended on YouTube from having copyrighted music on my videos. Should I get my account back, I'm sticking to 30 second videos with copyrighted music and using music that has been ok'd to be used on YouTube/original music.

However, I don't want to go to jail. I'm not positive if my videos fall under fair use. They included a:

    -Speculation on events in iCarly

    -Speed paint with copyrighted music

    -Music video using copyrighted music.

I was in no way gaining profit, and I was willing to comply to having the video removed.

I want to send in a dispute form to get my account back, because it may be possible that one of my videos fell under fair use. Though, I'm not completely positive on this, and I don't want to be breaking the law.

    Please give me your opinions.

  • What could I be sick with?

I'm not sure what I'm ill with, but here's the list of symtoms:

-Stabbing pains under the rib cage

    -Coughing up mucus

    -Sore throat

    -Tightness of chest

    -Fatigue

I don't why, but I keep burping, and most of the time I feel some sort of acid/bile/etc. rising up to the back of my throat before dropping down.

    What am I sick with?
