  • Has anyone had the Pillar procedure for snoring or sleep apnea?

I am considering this. I cannot get through a night with a CPAP machine. i always unconsciously remove it during the night. Has anyone here had good/bad results with the Pillar procedure? Long term results? short term? Failures?

How much did it cost? This is very important since insurance will not pay for it.

  • Why do we stick to the Electoral College system?

With the internet and the level of technology we have at our fingertips, although the disfunctional way Healthcare.gov works...or fails to, does not support my assertion here, we could easily stop using the electoral college system altogether. We have the technology today to link every voting booth and actually elect candidates based on a 1 man 1 vote system. The votes would be tallied instantly. Wana write-in a candidate? No problem. type their name on a keyboard in the voting booth and hit "enter". Wanna vote for a 3rd party candidate? No problem. Don't want states like Ohio or Florida to stand out because they have the magic number or electoral college votes - no problem. Drop the electoral college system. Connect all the voting booths electronically so we each get one vote and it is tallied as 1 vote. The popular vote really is the most fair way to accomplish this. I realize there was no way to really do this even 30 years ago but we are way past having the technology now. So why not do it? The Electoral College is a relic. But it also happens to be the way two useless political parties that are also relics remain in power.

  • Why do we Americans still think we have a 2 party system?

There were other political parties in America before the Democrats or Republicans came along. Abraham Lincoln was elected as a 3rd party candidate. At the time the Republican Party was a new 3rd party. So how/when did we let the Democrats and Republicans convince us that this is a 2 party system in which we have to choose between their 2 pre-approved candidates in every election? We argue about whether the Democratic or republican candidates are the better choice but truth be recognized - neither choice is EVER good for the country. Both candidates have been pre-approved and nominated by the leaders of the 2 parties. The truth is - neither party deserves anyone's support. Neither party has done anything significantly good and lasting for the people who support them in over 50 years.

  • Obama Support & Racism?

Why do SOME people feel it was Ok to vote for Obama simply because of race but they do not consider this racism?

Logic dictates that it is equally racist to vote for a man because of his race as it is to vote against him for the same reason. But since it is "trendy" or politically correct to do it anyway - they think it is OK.

  • Am I the only person who wonders why the Kardashians are popular?

Seriously. I realize that the late father in the family was OJ Simpson's lawyer and that OJ is actually Kim Kardashian's godfather. I get that. But the old man has been dead for decades. What does the world (or maybe just America) find so fascinating about the rest of this disfunctional family? I get that Kim K. posed nude in Playboy and was in some sort of homemade porn film with an ex-boyfriend. But apparently she was somewhat of a celebrity before that. Why? What did she do that was special? Bruce Jenner is an Olympiad but he is not actually a Kardashian. So what does the mother and the other sisters do (or even Kim K herself) that makes them so darned popular? What is the root cause of their fame? Why does the world go nuts when one of them takes a "selfy" photo in a mirror and it gets more press than the recent Presidential agreements with Iran? I don't get it.

  • Can I use scents in the warm air vaporizer on a CPAP machine?

I sometimes have trouble with nasal passage swelling when I sleep. I hate using nasal sprays. I've seen mentholated products made for common floor unit vaporizers. Can you use these in the vaporizer attachments on CPAP machines?

  • What did all the AMERICANS think of the 50 year anniversary episode of DOCTOR WHO?

I'm an American who grew up on the show. I personally loved it. I thought it was brilliant. My only issue with the new Doctor Who episodes that began in 2005 is that the BBC insists on replacing the actors playing the Doctor far to frequently. I hope Mr. Capaldi (the new Doctor who takes over at Christmas) turns out to be so good in th role that he breaks Tom Bakers record for holding on to the role for MANY years to come. Of course I believed David Tennant had the potential to do that too.

  • What does everyone think about the American Libertarian Party ( LP.ORG )?

Seriously, in a time when the Democrats and the Republicans all seem (by actions not by words and promises) to be on the same team some people seem to be seriously considering 3rd parties like the Libertarians. What do you guys think about Liberatrianism? Personally, I can see a few attractive things about it. Libertarians SEEM to be very socially liberal while being fiscally conservative. So they could easily take a lot of disinfranchised GOP members who are unhappy with the RHINOS and the more moderate and sometimes conservative Democrats. It's just a thought.

  • Do Democrats realize their party is the most racist of the 2 choices?

Seriously. Research it yourself. Founded by racists. White southern slave owners were all Democrats. ABE LINCOLN WAS NOT A DEMOCRAT. He was a Republican. He was assasinated by a racist Democrat. Even today the Democratic Party is responsible for so much racial division it is incredible. All the well known and most verbal race baiters are Democrats. The man who murdered Medgar Evers was a racist Democrat. Finally, Democrat legislators almost unanimously voted AGAINST blacks recieving the right to vote. Republicans proposed allowing it and almost unanimously voted FOR blacks rights to vote. The Democrats scream racism constantly but their own party is the party of racism. Robert Byrd, Democrat Congressman, also a former KKK Grand Wizard.
