Hey all you Yahoo Answers users out there! Its great to be working with all of you to put together a great Q&A website. Anyway, my favorite sport is baseball and I am a diehard Cubs fan (2008 is the year baby!). My three favorite college teams are: IU, Notre Dame, and Texas. I like to read and watch movies. My favorite movie is Vantage Point and my favorite book is Contest by Matthew Reilley. My favorite genres are sci fi and action. Again, I think this is a great site and I want to thank you for all of your hard work.

  • What is the name of this story that I'm thinking of? Something about an existential question?

So I remember reading this story, and I think it involved a guy who died and was talking to God or a god of some sort. And this god was using him somehow, like he made him think about this question that the god had yet to figure out, the reason being because if the god did not have all of the questions, then he could not have all of the answers. Therefore, the god was falling short of perfection. In the end, I think the guy figures it out. But I'm really not sure, any help is appreciated. Been driving me crazy.

  • What is the proper way to go about a job application if it is in a PDF, and the employer wants it submitted through email?

I'm applying for some positions, and the employer says to email the application form and a resume. The application is in a PDF. Do I download the PDF and type my answers? There is a line for signing my name. Do I print it out, do it by hand, and scan it? Any help appreciated.

  • Signing a deflated basketball?

Hi, I was just wondering if it someone signing a deflated basketball would cause the signature to look bad or warped when inflated. I want to send a ball to a former player from my hometown, but I wanted to deflate the ball to save cost on shipping. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it a bad idea? Thanks

  • Question about external hard drives?

I need to get an external hard drive for college. The professors recommend using Thunderbolt or Firewire 800 hard drives with 1TB of space and a spin rate of 7200 rpm. They said not to go with a USB one, but instead get an adapter to go down to USB if necessary. I am not really familiar with this stuff, could somebody kind of point me in the right direction? I have a Dell laptop if that helps.

  • Why is my DVR losing recording time?

I have a Dish DVR and the time that is says that I have left to record shows is disappearing. For instance, I just deleted two 30 minute HD shows. Before I deleted them, it said I had 4 hours and 18 minutes of HD recording left. After they were deleted, it said I had 4 hours and 31 minutes. Why did I lose about 45 minutes? This is a common occurrence on my DVR

  • What do you think would have happened at Richmond last year if Jr. hadn't made his comments about Bowyer?

Do you think that NASCAR would have analyzed Bowyer's spin if Jr. hadn't said that it looked like he did it on purpose? Honestly, I have to say no. I think NASCAR would've let that drama play out like it was any other caution. We could've had a whole different Chase last year and Truex Jr. could still be at MWR if Jr. hadn't complained, in my opinion.

  • Could a lone tree produce enough oxygen for a human to survive?

I suppose this is basically just a question of oxygen output, but suppose a human was trapped in an air-tight room with a tree or plant. Lets say that the tree still receives water and sunlight. Could it produce enough air to keep a human alive? And vice versa: would the human produce enough carbon dioxide for the tree? I'll agree that a small tree might not be able to do this, but maybe a bigger one. I dunno, let me know what you think.

  • Is shush.se safe, reliable, and legal?

I noticed that it has two TV series that I would like to watch, Justified and Game of Thrones, which aren't on Netflix. I tried to do searches on it, but can't find hardly anything about it. Is shush.se a safe and legal site to watch these shows?

  • Should I start Roddy White or Harry Douglas?

I know Douglas had a big game last week, but he was inconsistent the 2 weeks before that. Also, Roddy is pretty much healthy enough to be a big part of the offense again. What do you think?

  • Best running back option for week 5?

Peterson has a bye, so I need to work some free agency here this week. My other starter is LeSean McCoy. I have Chris Johnson on my bench who plays Kansas City. I can pick up Giovani Bernard (vs. New England), Ryan Mathews (@ Oakland), or even Fred Jackson who has been consistent, but plays a tough Cleveland D this week. What do you guys think about my options?

    Johnson

    Bernard

    Mathews

    Jackson

  • Matt Stafford vs. Houston or Josh Freeman vs. Atlanta?

Both playing good teams, not sure who to go with. Leaning towards Stafford since he has been my starter all year and the Texans gave up so many points last week. What do you guys think? Need answers fast, game starts in 2 hours. Thanks

  • Who are some good, "unknown" country singers?

Im just looking to kind of expand my tastes in country music. When I say "unknown," I dont want people like Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina because they are too well known. I want people like Emily West, Margaret Durante/Maggie Rose, and Lisa Shaffer. Singers that Ive probably never heard of, just as you have probably not heard much from those that I mentioned. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

  • What ever happened to Mike Skinner?

I was sad to see him run start-and-parks in the Cup series last year, but I really enjoyed watching him race trucks. Is he still racing stuff? Did he retire?

  • Maybe Kyle Busch isn't the @$$ at JGR, maybe it's Joey Logano...?

Totally knocked that Bainey kid out of the way today and then had the gall to say that the 24 "wasn't respecting the leaders." What the hell, Joey? Rusty Wallace was even pissed at him. What do you guys think?

  • Can somebody explain Danica's situation to me please?

With all of this selling of the points going on, I'm a little confused. I know that TBR sold their points to SHR to lock Danica into the 500. Now I'm hearing that Reutimann is driving in the other 26 races that she is not. Also, NASCAR.com has an article saying that Tommy Baldwin is going to be listed as Danica's owner, not Stewart. Is that just for the 500? Is the number 10 going to be fielded the rest of the season by TBR or SHR?

  • Chemistry lab report help?

Need help with a calorimetry lab, so here goes:

    1. 2.89 g of an unknown metal is heated to 95 degrees Celsius and is then dunked in 197 g of 19.5 degrees Celsius water. If the water temp is raised to 20.5 degrees C, what is the specific heat of this metal?

    2. 0.87 g of an unknown metal is heated to 96 degrees Celsius and is then dunked in 197 g of 21 degrees Celsius water. If the water temp is raised to 21.5 degrees C, what is the specific heat of this metal?

If you can show the steps and formulas, that would be great, but if not, thats fine. Thanks
