I'm looking to get a nice camera and am trying to decide between the Canon EOS Rebel T3 and Canon EOS Rebel T3i. This will be my first "nice" camera beyond a decent point-and-shoot. Obviously the T3i has a few more features but I'm not sure if it's worth it for the large price differential.

Will I regret not spending more for the nicer model?

Any other cameras you can recommend?

Trying to keep the cost relatively reasonable (under 400).

I want to do something to help wildlife. I'd love to work with (like training or studying) really smart animals (dolphins/elephants). I'd like to rescue/rehabilitate wildlife especially in Africa. I also love photography. I get that these are not really something you can combine into one job. But what is a career path I could choose to satisfy some of my desires. And what should I study in college for it?
