  • Best team for Pokemon Blue on Gameboy?

My friend and I are having an old school challenge. We get 30 hours to long on our gameboy's and then we're going to have a Pokemon battle. I'm using Pokemon Blue. What team would you recommend catching and building for my limited time?

  • Can I get fired or written up at work if I miss a shift because of a required school event I requested off for?

So, I'm actually asking this for my roommate since I can't find the information online. We're in college and I'm referring to college classes.

Anyway, so my friend has marching band camp for a week in August. The camp runs basically from 9 am until 10 pm so there's literally no time she can work. However, a bunch of people requested off at her work for vacation. They will not be in town no matter what. Beach, Vegas, etc. She is afraid that they will end up scheduling her since she will be in town.

Because the "camp" is required for the course she is paying for, if she is scheduled to work can she legally get in trouble by her work? In high school, I heard that if you're required to go to a school function you can't really get in trouble for it by your employer.

Basically, can she get fired or written up legally for going to something that is required? This camp is a big deal. I'm in the marching band too. The director will rip your soul out and eat it if you do not go. I'm not sure if people take collegiate marching bands (well, GOOD ones) very seriously.

Any information is appreciated. Thanks! :)

  • How do I shrink this shirt?

I have a shirt that's a mens small. I'm a girl and I like my shirts to be relatively fitted so I always get a mens small if I have to get a guys shirt. However, this shirt is much looser than any other mens small I've ever worn and so I want to shrink it.

It is 52% cotton and 48% polyester.

    Please help, thanks!

  • trying to get a wine from out of state?

I have a friend who has been really wanting to try some Hallauer wine. It's from California and as far as I know of, it's only distributed in California. On their site HallauerVineyards.com, it has contact information but the phone number didn't work and I'm still waiting on an email response. I actually live in Kansas. Basically, I want to know is there any legal way to get a bottle of wine from California to Kansas for him? His birthday is coming up soon and I really wanted to surprise him with it.

I don't really invest in liquor so I'm just not sure how these things are. Could someone help me out?

  • What size corset should I get?

I'm trying to follow the size chart but it's just so confusing! They have a side that's the measurements with the corset unlaced and then with the corset laced.

Well, looking at the unlaced measurements, I'm at XL bust at 39 in, 2XL hips at 44 in and a S waist at 28 in.

I don't understand what size I need in that case

How do you determine which size to get?

  • Guys beard rubbed chin raw while making out, will it scar?

I was making out with this guy and he had a really stubbly face. Well, it ended up rubbing my chin really badly and scratching it up and there's a thin layer of a scab over it. It's about the size of a quarter. Is this going to end up scarring? If so, what can I do now and after it's gone to minimalize it's appearance.

    Thanks!

  • Discomfort and paing in my wrist?

Okay, so a couple days ago my wrist started feeling really awkward in a pressure sort of pain way. I started feeling it when I was practicing my clarinet and it hasn't gone away. Hence why I'm asking this in the performing arts section.

I feel like my wrist isn't moving the same way it necessarily does as usual. I feel like there's a slight amount of pressure on it and it is VERY discomforting. Sometimes when I use my fingers I feel this line of pressure going from my wrist to my elbow. I've tried using a wrap to keep my wrist at a straight position and applying muslce rub (biofreeze) onto it. The more I use it the worse it feels.

Does anybody know what this could possibly be? Or a way to treat whatever is happening? Please help me. =[

I have a VERY important audition coming up in a couple weeks at my college to find out what band I will be placed in and this NEEDS to feel better.

  • Can't figure out this football movie. It's killing me. HELP!?

Okay, I can't remembet what movie this is for the life of me. I've seen A LOT of sports movies and I love them.

I remember the coach asking the team how many national championships their college has (I'm assuming it HAS to be a Southern college) and no one really knows and the answer is Zero.

Well, the team gets like, super good. And at the end the coach says they're going to be the national champions if they beat one of two teams in a bowl game. And one team would be easy to beat and I don't know who it is. But then he says the other team is Texas. After that, he tells them that he believes to be the best you have to play the best or something along those lines, and he lets the team decide. Well, the entire team decides to go for Texas. They win (as far as I can remember).

Now, I've been RACKING my brain. It COULD be the Express, I just genuinely feel like it's not. I feel like this is a movie I watched at home with my brother a few years back and I know I saw the Express only once in a theater with a friend.

There also could've been something to do with racism or something in the movie. I just know the quote and that they had to play Texas in a bowl game to be the national champs which was an option.

If it IS the Express, feel free to let me know. Or if you have an idea or KNOW what movie this is. . . PLEASE TELL ME!!!

  • Any movies about BAND?

I don't mean like That Thing You Do! or This Is Spinal Tap.

What I mean is movies like Drumline. Mr. Holland's Opus. Or the Soloist. Movies about band directors, marching bands, or musicians (and NOT about guitar players, drummers, and the such. I mean violinist, clarinet, trumpet, (etc) players)

So, again, no movies like The Wall, Pink Floyd or Almost Famous. Band directors, bands, musicians. That's what I want. Keep in mind the couple movies I listed above.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Help me on prom hair! Need by Saturday!!!?

Okay, so our theme is a masquerade. I really don't care about following the them too much. No one I know really is.

Well, my hair is a dark blonde, layered, and just barely past my shoulders.

My dress is strapless. It's dark purple (k-state wildcats purple, to be exact) and it's trumpet/mermaid style. Those that don't know, that means it hugs my body until between the knees and hip area and then it fans out. I know when I get my hair done, they might have some ideas but just in case, I don't want to leave the stylist hanging without a clue of what I want done or what should be done.

I do want it to be an all updo, unless you have a better idea of an all down or half up, etc. And I don't want it to be all back, I like a little bangs showing because I feel awward when it's all back.

I know I've put on a lot of requirements. . . But I also have a regional band solo/ensemble festival that day. So I'm getting my hair done pretty early. If you have any ideas of something that I could easily manage or fix throughout the day, that'd be swell!

Okay, any and all comments are appreciated! Please link pictures!!!!

  • Lose 20-30 pounds by the end of January? Help!?

    I'm 17, 5'5'' and weigh 160.

I'd like to lose 20-30 pounds within the next couple months.

I wear a size 11 in jeans. I'd just really like to get down to a size 7. If I could get to a 5 that'd be great but if I can only get to a 9, I'd be satisfied too.

Could anyone help me out and give me some tips? Maybe a workout plan and whatnot.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

And I really don't think that's a lot of weight in a short amount of time. So if you do, please just exit this page now. =]

  • If I get my tonsils removed, will it effect me musically (clarinet)?

I have this weird problem with my throat. If I play too long, it will start to sound like I'm trying to hack something up AS I am playing. It's really weird and I don't know anyone else who plays the clarinet with that problem. I have pretty large tonsils, I've always been told, and I'm think maybe it closes off my throat after a bit. Plus, I get a lot of throat infections.

My doctor and I have been talking about geting my tonsils removed quite recently to fix it.

Here's the dilemna. . . I'm very good at clarinet. I have district band at the very beginning of December and then have auditions for state at the beginning of January which is also when three of my outside school ensemble groups start up again. I'm also in school but our contest isn't until April.

Would getting my tonsils removed effect my playing if I get it done IMMEDIATELY after my concert on December 6th? How long does it take to heal? Are there any other musicians who know from experience? And even if your throat does hurt, will I still be able to play just fine?

I mean, I've had to play with throat infections before. I had one during my audition for district which I made 4th chair 1st part and I had one for a college audition. $7,000 towards tuition (they gave me a combined amount including my ACT score)

Please someone give me helpful input. I'm afraid this will effect me during things such as solo/ensemble fest and in college.

  • My throat makes funny noises when I play my clarinet?

Okay, not like when I first start playing. . . But if I play lengthy pieces without a break or just when I'm practicing, my throat starts making this gagging raspy noise. It almost sounds like I'm trying to hack something up AS I'm playing my clarinet.

I really have no idea what it is I'm doing so wrong to do this. Anyone have any advice or words of wisdom?

  • Prom updos/half updos with volume? Easy 10, please help =[?

I'm still having tons of trouble finding a good prom hairstyle. I've asked this before, but I only had two answers and they weren't what I was looking for.

I'd prefer a style with lots of volume and some curl but honestly, if you know of another hair updo/half updo you like better feel free to post it!

If you could post links instead of just describing it, I'd really appreciate that too.

My hair is dark blonde, light brown (kind of sandy) not thin but not super thick. It between. And it's about 2-4 inches past my shoulders. I have a few layers but not dramatic.

And if it helps, my dress is to the floor. Lightish blue. Peated from the waist down. Crosses in the back (why I don't want to do an all down hairdo). Slightly a deep lowcut front.

My prom is Saturday! SO PLEASE HELP ME!!!

  • Big voluminous hairstyle for prom? (I NEED HELP FAST!!!)?

Okay, I don't know how to do my hair yet for prom (THIS SATURDAY!!!!) and I need some advice. Whatever I do, I want quite a bit of volume (not like, scary big 80s stripper but you know what I mean, lol). I'd prefer an updo and maybe even something with curls (tight or loose or just waves).

If it helps, my dress is lighitish blue, pleated at the bottom, crosses in the back and cuts down deep at the cleavage.

Links to hairstyles would be GREAT rather than an explanation. But I'm willing for all types of responses.
