What is the mexican food that is in like an oval shape and taste kind of like noodles but looks like dough? It has the texture of a noodle.

I got my industrial pierced a little over a year ago, and it's healed. I just got a new barbell for it and after I put it in it start swell and pus is coming out. I cleaned the barbell in alcohol before I put it in. What's wrong? Should I take it out? Should I leave it in and wait to see what happens?

I dont want to make him uncomfortable at the beach or when giving him baths. Any suggestions on how to get him more comfortable with the water?
