  • What day of the week does 'The Week' magazine come out?

I was wondering if anyone can help me in telling me which day 'The Week' magazine (in the UK) comes out? I believe it to be either on Fridays or Saturdays but i'm not entirely sure!

Can someone who knows please let me know and also if they know of any shops that sell hard copies each week??

Thanks in advance - it's important I pick up a copy as I need to learn alot about it in the next couple of days :)

Here's a link to the website: http://www.theweek.co.uk/ (I can't find this info on there at all!!)

  • Best setup for current account interest in UK?

    Hi,

I left Uni last year and have been working ever since, i've saved a small sum up; around £11,000 in total now.

I want to achieve the best possible interest rate on this. The weird thing is current accounts seem to be offering the best interest rates! I regrettably have £5,000 stuck in a Cash ISA until the end of this tax year at 1.75% interest.

I've also just opened up a Lloyds Vantage current account which pays 3% interest on balances of £3,000-£5,000 on the condition I pay in at least £1,000 per month (this is fine as I just have my wages paid directly into this account).

I now have a little over £1,000 leftover which is gaining no interest at all! I'm tempted to open another Lloyds Vantage current account and when i've saved a little in there it should also be earning 3% interest.

I'm just wondering if I get my wages paid into my first Lloyds current account then immediately withdraw the cash and deposit it in my 2nd Lloyds current account will it still be within the terms & conditions for me to receive 3% on BOTH of these accounts?

Also another question; Is it worth me opening up x4 Nationwide current accounts which pay 5% interest on balances of up to £2,500 rather than the Lloyds current accounts? The Nationwide deal dictates I must pay in £1000 per month to receive this interest rate. (the same as the lloyds account). Will this be legal for me to do to attain a decent interest rate on all my cash??

Has anyone got experience of doing this themselves or do you currently do this? I think my aim is to get £15k saved then deposit it all in a Santander current account which pays 3% interest on up to £20k so long as you pay in £500 per month and the account fee is £2 per month (similarly if I went up to the £20k allowance and opened a 2nd Santander account would I be able to bounce my cash between both of them so I meet the £500 pay-in requirement to receive interest on both accounts?).

Let me know what you guys think/ can recommend for me, thanks in advance!

  • How and when was Malaria eradicated in Europe?

I randomly got onto this subject and to my amazement there is almost nothing online regarding this!? I came to think of it after reading about the distribution of Malaria and seeing different maps titled "Current malaria distribution" and "Past malaria distribution".

I can see that malaria was once prevalent across South Europe, swathes of North America and also Australia for example.

Can anyone shed some light on when Malaria disappeared from these places (if it has at all)? and how this happened? Was human-activity involved or were there a few natural events i'm missing out on that would've led to it?

Thanks, all sensible answers appreciated :) Forgive me if there's something glaringly obvious i'm missing out!

  • Anyone know the name of this old kids tv series from the mid/late 90's?

    I must've been about 7-9 years old at time and i'd love to find out the name of the series as I just have vivid memories of it all the time and no one seems to remember it! So thankyou very much if you can answer;

It was on the BBC, ITV or channel 4/ channel 5 i'm not sure which but it was a kids tv programme, there was some kind of small flying spaceship that a couple of kids could fly around in and when they were'nt using it they could make it go invisible and it often had a gloopy/ half transparent look about it.

I'd really love to know what the programme was called so any guesses are very much welcomed, I feel inclined to say it began with an 'A' and was aquila or acega or something, but i'm not entirely sure.....

    ahhhhh please help me!

  • An employee of one company is injured through the fault of another cmpny, can he directly sue those responsible?

A man is injured whilst on a private contruction site, he is employed by ABC. ABC are the main contractors and DEF are sub-contractors on the site. DEF through poor workmanship/negligence etc cause a serious injury to this man.

Can the man, employed by ABC sue DEF for breach of contract? I'm guessing no as he doesn't work for them and therefore wouldn't have a contract?

Are ABC liable for any negligence of the subcontractor DEF? they have a contract between one another stating they must take reasonable care when carrying out works but that is all.

    Any thoughts appreciated, thankyou.

  • What is a comfortable broadband speed for Call of Duty Multiplayer on Xbox Live?

Hello, I was wondering what you would each recommend as a comfortable broadband speed for playing COD multiplayer games over Xbox Live? I will hopefully be playing Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops over it, fingers crossed....

I currently have just a 500kbps broadband speed, I will be connecting my Xbox to my wireless router via the Xbox wireless network adapter that plugs onto the back of your xbox. I've ordered it and it should be here by tomorrow.

Do you guys think I will experience any lag-free games? I don't really expect to, I don't mind the occasional bit, I just don't want it to get too annoying. Any speed reccomendations or could you let me know your broadband speed and how the game runs on multiplayer online for you?

And sadly I live in the middle of nowhere and I am over 5km from the nearest exchange, the speed won't increase for quite some time...

Thanks for any input, its appreciated :)
