Questions about false charges filed for vandalism in Nebraska?
Okay, someone that I have not got along with in many years (baby momma drama) is claiming that I kicked her car and left a big dent in it. She is saying that her relative saw me do it. She is telling me that if I don't pay her deductible to have it fixed that she will turn me into the police. Since I didn't do it I don't want to pay for the repairs, but to be honest, I don't think anyone will believe that I didn't do it. Especially since she has been intimate with about 3 of the 6 cops in this small town. My best friend was with me at the time she states this happened.
My questions are ... What is the process for this kind of thing? Is there a time limit to how long she has to file charges? What's the worst that could happen to me if she somehow convinces these people that I actually did this? Thanks.
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAny over the counter muscle relaxers in US?
I pulled a muscle in my lower back about 5 days ago lifting my daughter and swinging her around. I'm still in a lot of pain and can't really afford to go to the doctor if I can help it. I know it's a pulled muscle, because it's happened several times since I've been pregnant with her. The pain is mainly coming from the muscle spasms that occur everytime I try to stand up or walk. My daughter is now a year old and about 30 lbs. So taking it easy and not lifting is not an option. I know that muscle relaxers will help a lot with the spasms. Is there any over the counter ones available in the US? And where can I find them? I'm in the Nebraska. Thanks!

5 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoHow much should I expect to pay a 16 year old babysitter?
Okay, I live in Nebraska, I know that makes a difference. I have an almost 1 year old and an 8 year old. I'm looking for a babysitter for halloween night so I can go to a halloween party after I take my kids out for a few hours. My baby will be put to bed before I leave and my 8 year old will prob just watch a movie til bed time. I'm thinking of having my friends 16 year old daughter watch my kids from about 8 -1. But I have no idea what to expect to pay her. I always have relatives babysit for free or trade. There won't be any baths, meals, or cleaning involved.

8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoLandlord refuses to repair basic necessities?
When we moved in on 7-14 the landlord advised that he knew of several issues with the property including leaking roof and no knobs on the shower. He was supposed to fix these things immediately. The roof leaks in several rooms, the shower/bath is not able to be turned on, the AC quit working a few weeks after moving in, the front door has a huge hole in where bugs enter if we leave the storm door open. When we turned on the heat last night ( which we had to turn the knob to turn the gas on and light the pilot light) it instantly filled the trailer with gas, and we had to open the available windows. The cranks to open the windows does not work on all of the windows, so we can only open a few. The washing machine leaks all over the floor. The pilot light for the hot water heater goes out every time we have a storm. I have told him that we will not pay the rent until it is fixed. He knew of these issues when we moved in and promised to have them all fixed. Now he is saying that he won't fix anything until he gets the full rent. I have 2 children and we have to go to a relatives house to bath and to stay when it is too hot or too cold. He is now threatening to evict us. Please advise what I can do in this situation. I would love to move out today, but don't have money for deposit plus rent for a new place already and can't find a place in my price range in this small town available.
6 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoUnemployment if I'm now self employed, but had to leave my previous employer?
I had to quit my job because my car broke down and it was an hour away. I had to wait for 12 weeks to file for unemployment. I'm the meantime, I've begun doing a little self employment, but it's no where close to paying the bills. Can I still file for unemployment? Do I tell them my income for self employment as being employed or how does that work? Nebraska. Thanks!

4 AnswersRunning1 decade agoIndependent Contractor Tax Question?
I've just started to be an independent contractor. I have been working as an employee. I've made about 11,500 so far this year as an employee. I've had 1500 taken out so far in taxes ( SS, Medicare, federal and state). I've just began an IC job and I'm planning on making somewhere around 15,000 in this job for the rest of year. I've heard that I should take out somewhere around 30% and put away to pay my quarterly taxes. Is this a good estimate? About how much should I plan on paying for each payment of estimated taxes? I file as Head of Household and I have 2 dependents. Also I spent 1200 for my computer and home office setup. I've been told this can be a deduction as well.
This is the first time I've had to figure all this out and looking through the IRS website has gotten me pretty confused. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

1 AnswerOther - Taxes1 decade agoWon't shift, no speedometer, messed up fuel gauge 01 Stratus?
Okay, this is a 2.4 L DOHC 01 Stratus SE. The battery went dead. Replaced battery because it wouldn't hold a charge. My moron BF put in a battery with too many amps. So then replaced it with the right one. From the time that the battery died, my car won't shift. It's stuck in either 1st or 2nd (limp mode), The speedometer is compeltely dead, the fuel gauge bounces all over depending on starting and stopping. After reading threads on here We've changed the output and input speed sensors. The wiring connecting those look okay. We are still stuck. I have no idea what else it could be. I live in a rural town with no dealership to have the computer codes ran. I tried the Trip odometer and put it in the on postition. It did run through a lot of codes and such, but none of them started with P. From what I understand they should start with a P.
I'm basically trying to figure this out on my own since my BF doesn't seem to know anything about new cars. If this was an old ford or Chevy, he might be able to figure this out, but not on a newer car. I've been searching online in forums and other websites. Everyone else seems to have had their problem fixed by the Speed sensors. Any help or ideas appreciated. The cheaper the better... money is super tight right now. THanks in advance!

Okay, out of the blue my car wouldn't start, so we put in a new battery. Now it starts but It won't shift out of first gear and I have no speedometer. All the lights around where it tells you what gear you are in are all lit up and the engine light is on. Any clue what this is?? Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWork at Home Customer Service safe during layoffs?
I'm thinking of going into the Work at Home Customer Service field. Anyone know if these jobs are also laying off like many other jobs? I think that they would be hiring more because of the costs that the employers save by having thier workers at home. But maybe nothings safe right now....
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoVal's gift for the NOT AT ALL romantic guy. ?
Okay, I'm stuck here. I've been with this guy for almost 10 years and still can't manage to get him something he likes. Last year we were trying for a baby so I got the hotel room with a bag of toys, games, lotions, costumes, etc. Well, we made our baby that night, but I embarassed the crap out of him. He told me he felt like apiece of meat. We didn't use anything that we bought and he went to bed at 10 pm. The steak dinner made him sleepy. lol. So what do I get the guy who thinks he's done me a favor by giving me a kiss once a month. Never taken ME out for dinner or a movie, never gotten me a flower, doesn't have a romantic bone in his body. His idea of a perfect night is to get hammered at the nearest bar and go home to have a quicky that neither of us remember in the morning anyway. He likes porn, but doesn't like to do anything exciting in bed. I always tell him it's disgusting, maybe I should let him order some at a hotel or something?? He won't get me anything most likely, so I gotta do something for the both of us.... Men are pathetic... Any help appreciated. He's 40 and a redneck if that helps ( I'm 28 and not so much the redneck.) :) lol
