I drive a van for a medical transportation company. I was involved in a car accident last November. It was not a serious one, no one got injured only a broken light and a few scratches on the back of the other car, my van didn't even have a scratch that's all. After 2 months I received subrogation letter from the her insurance company claiming I had to pay the cost to repair the damage to the other car. They(the other driver's insurance company) said they tried to contact my insurance company but were denied because they were told I was not listed in the insurance policy to drive that particular van. I'd spoken to my employer(the owner of the van) about it but he said I shouldn't have paid attention to subrogation claim as it would go nowhere at the end. Today I received a letter from a lawyer who represents them asking me to pay the amount or else the matter will be taken to the court. What should I do now? Should I ask my employer to pay the amount because he neglected to add me into the insurance policy? What will be the outcome?

I'm 26 years old man working in Qatar. I've been contemplating going to a community college in the USA to earn my associate degree in communications. I've got enough money to pay for my college education. However many of my friends advised me to apply to a university instead citing reasons such as consulate visa officers might not issue me a visa unless I go to a 4 year university. The problem is I can't afford a full 4 year education program. It will entirely drain my pocket.Getting my associate degree and transferring to a university could be my best option. But I'm afraid if they deny my visa, I'm gonna have to wait for another year. Have you guys experienced such a dilemma ? I really need your input on this.
