  • Maker of a Vintage BB Gun?

Ok, I can take a pic if you need it but here goes. It is metal and plastic. Blued barrel, plastic almost bakelite looking grip with horizontal lines. About half way down, the barrel folds down and you insert a BB. This folding action not only allows you to insert the BB but creates the force with which to shoot it same as the modern "pump em up" bb guns. It is in pistol form and honestly when i first saw it it looked like a hybrid of a good old Luger and a Ruger Mark ???. It is well built and in my not so expert opinion appears to be from the 70's, MAYBE late 60's. There are no maker marks visible on the outside, havent taken it apart. It has the look and pretty much the feel of a well made vintage .22 pistol. Any ideas of the maker or year? Or a web site with lots of info on vintage bb guns? Any help is appreciated!

  • Raising mealworms, why are beetles always upside down?

Ok so I am going to breed darkling beetles so I dont have to buy mealworms. Got the worms, remove the pupated ones, wait for beetles then put them in a different drawer. They are on wheat bran like the worms. BUT, most of them are on their backs and dont seem to know how to get turned over! Is there something I need to do? Is it the bran they have trouble with?

  • Public Defender application process?

Ok my son got in trouble and decides to go with a public defender. Income-wise we would probably qualify. But I have a pretty good chunk of money in the bank and I own my own home (no mortgage it's paid for) I don't want to waste time filling out the papers if we don't qualify, but I'm sure not paying for a lawyer to represent him, when he is the one who did the crime. Does anyone know the income requirements to get their services? Oh son is a minor he's 17. Would talking to the D.A. and striking a plea bargain be a better way to go? Cause like I said, not paying for defense, he did the crime, now he's got to pay the price, not MOMMY.

  • Kodak Z1012 IS issue not snapping pics?

Ok, not sure if it's me or not but no matter what setting I have this thing on, it will not snap a pic. SOmetimes it will make a noise like it took a pic but there is no processing or anything. If I can hold still while doing it, I can just keep pressing the button and eventually it will take one. Is it me or is my camera no good. I just bought it about a month or two ago and I am pretty sure i didn't have this trouble in the beginning.

  • Smooth Green Snake Eggs?

Ok I am so excited. I recently got a smooth green snake that was really big and kind of spongy. Thinking laying season was over, I figured she was just a good eater lol. Well, I found today she laid 8 eggs! How do I take care of them? Obviously she was fertilized when I got her. I moved them over to where the under tank heater is, with some coco-fiber substrate under them, and some over them--moist. Is this good enough?

  • 1993 Ford Tempo won't stay running--??

Don't laugh it's my teenage sons beater car lol. We replaced the fuel filter and that didn't do it. Checked the cap and rotor and it was BAD so got new ones. That didn't do it. And yes it's on right :) What it does is it will start and run for about 15 seconds then sputter and die like it's out of gas. Gently tapping the gas pedal will keep it going for a bit but if you press it too hard it dies. Can't drive it cause under load it's impossible to keep it going. Any ideas? We didnt check plugs yet and need to find out where vacuum hoses are. Any ideas? Please respond! He can't afford a mechanic right now and mommy isn't footing the bill :P

  • New Smooth Green Snake WAY bigger than first?

I just got a new smooth green snake and my gawd it's a porker. It's easily 3 times the size of my other one which is over a year old and likely fully grown. Can I assume the new one is a female and the other male? Anyone have any luck breeding them in captivity? Any secrets?

  • Jehovah's Witness Meetings, when are they?

Are the meeting days different in different places or are there set days for the entire religion? We are in California. The reason I ask is (an no offense to JW's but....) is it is my late husbands wish not to get our son involved in the religion. He was involved all though childhood and something happened where what they were preaching and living for, did not happen so he left the church as a young boy and never went back. I also do not want my son raised in that religion. Like I said no offense, that is just my wish. Anyway, when we visit my late husbands family, they request that my son spend the night, then they dress him up in clothes they have there for him and take him to meetings, KNOWING it is against their brothers' wishes and mine. Dad is no longer here to say anything so they do it. If he were still here and they did that, he would rip into them for being disrespectful. So I was trying to find out what days the meetings are so he doesn't have to go.

  • Fasting blood sugar question?

Tested my sons fasting blood sugar and it was 114. He had drank a very large glass of soda the night before, say before 10. I tested him about 9:30am the next day. Would this soda still have been affecting him? He is not diabetic that we know of, just checked it cause we have the meter and he eats WAY too much sweets.

  • Government error on tax return??

Ok, my parents had their taxes done like any other year. New guy did something wrong and they owed $4000.00. Supervisor checked it, corrected something then they supposedly owed only $2000.00. Ok, so they get a notice saying they over paid (YES, OVERPAID) what they owe, so they got a $90.00 fine. They overpaid by $78.00, now they owe $12.00 more. Does this sound right? Don't they allow for corrections, I can't believe they would fine you for a mistake in THEIR favor.

  • Long Term Radon Test do I have to keep the house closed up?

I did a short term radon test just to check it, and it came back 7.3 so it is recommended I do a long term test. I realize tests may be different, but for the short term I had to keep the house closed. No open windows or doors, just the normal ins and outs of everyday life. The long term test will be for 3 months and I want to do it now. Will I have to keep the house closed???

  • Ca SDI & Child Support--what does check look like?

Ok, I am curious if someone is getting SDI and the government takes a portion to satisfy an old child support debt, is there any reference to the deduction on the check stub? The reason i ask is a friend of mine's ex is supposed to be paying monthly on an old debt, and currently to her. I guess they were taking $200.00 a month from him for the old debt, but she filed a case with the CS dept. and now they give her half of the $200 they take. Will this be itemized on his SDI check so that he knows were it goes?

  • HP 712 Inkjet Printer Clunking problem?

My mom and dad have an HP 712 printer and it stopped working. They found a pile of ink, cleaned it up and it seemed ok. She just told me when they try to print the cartridges go to one side (forget right or left) with a clunking noise then stay there. Is it fixable or trash?
