About a year ago, I bought an Aiptek 600U Premium II graphics tablet new over Amazon. Mostly, I love it.

However, I just got back from 2 weeks away (therefore haven't used either laptop or tablet for 2 weeks), and the tablet isn't responding. The cursor reacted to my scribbling for a few seconds immediately after the tablet was plugged in, and then stopped. It responds to the touch pad, so this is not a case of the screen freezing.

I have replaced the nib, and then uninstalled and reinstalled the Pen Pad with Macro Key Manager software. For about a minute after restarting my computer, the cursor responded to the tablet; however, it has now stopped again.

Obviously I can't just keep restarting my computer and scribbling quickly - so, any ideas? I'm struggling to find tablet help on the internet that isn't for Wacom...

i own a Canon Eos 400D camera, and recently have been trying to get a bit more into photography. unfortunately, i don't know where the manual is, and i'm struggling to work out how to change the aperture & shutter speed settings on it. can anyone help?

on my C drive, in my Data Files, i'm trying to make a new folder and move some files into it from where they are currently.

i can make the folder fine. no issues there.

but when i drag the files into the folder, it says "you'll need administrator permission to move to this folder.". i click "ok", and it comes up with a message saying "if you started this click continue", which i do. (this isn't unusual - it does this for other things)

but then, it comes up with "you need permission to perform this action". clicking "try again" returns the same message; clicking "cancel", obviously, cancels it.

any ideas?

I'm currently interested in buying a graphics tablet, and have been browsing the web, in particular amazon, looking for something good yet affordable.

I used to be friends with the owner of an Aiptek slim tablet, but in my browsing i've come across 3 versions: 600U, 600U Premium and 600U Premium II. i don't know which one she had, and unfortunately am no longer in a position to ask her advice on the subject.

Can anyone help me out, please - what is the difference between the 3 types, and which would you recommend?

in what way can i help a friend with anachraphobia (spiders)?

she screams at pictures of spiders, and at the idea of one being around where she can't see it. it gets better and worse at times: sometimes she gets upset by the word 'spider', and at other times she has actually frozen and started shaking at the idea of one being nearby.

(something that doesn't help is another friend who finds it amusing to go "there's one on your shoulder..." but i'm working on getting them to stop.)

i'm having a few problem with Word 2007 - it opens ok (if a tad slowly) and i can type, change the font style, basic stuff etc etc. but if i do anything that might involve a pop-up window - new bullet, save, etc - it stops responding.

possibly this is related to another odd thing: Word was open when i left my laptop for about an hour the other night (last time i used it). when i came back it had all the lights on but the screen was blank. i had to reboot twice.

does anyone have any idea what has happened/why? plus suggestions for sorting out Word? i'm going to try a reboot soon but after that i'm stumped. thanks in advance.
