  • Could humans evolve into two different subsets of humans based on intelligence?

I'd been doing research on the link between genetics and intelligence and about 50% of our intelligence is inherited from our parents (the other 50% is our environment). And what I've noticed (at least as a high school student) The smart kids normally hook up with the other smart kids, and the *cough* not-so-smart kids hook up with the not-so-smart kids. Now, I'm not saying that is how it is in the adult world, but it must be similar. Could humans be starting to split apart into a subspecies?

(This question is just my personal inquiry. It's just interesting)

The reasoning for this I can see from studying evolution (With sexual and natural selection) A possible conclusion I've come up with is that our attraction with relatively the same intelligence (I'm using intelligence loosely in this sense) is that we may be starting to have some slight genetic differences because of sexual selection.

What is your take on this?

  • In blacksmithing, what is a furnace used for and what is a crucible used for?

What is the basic design of both? (By which I mean, what is their simple function so the design can be changed but the purpose is the same) As I am planning on making my own smithing table/area and I want to make my own furnace. However, I am new and I am not sure what the specific/distinct function of either are, so I must know in order to get a design together.

    Thanks!

  • If you were in hyper sleep, and in a dream you went to sleep. Could you dream?

Kind of like inception I guess. But if you dream within a dream, would your brain be processing information even faster? Or not because you're still in the first dream?

  • I got hit on the head, yellow fluid dripped out nose?

(TL;DR: got hit on head, yellow fluid came out nose. Wtf?)

I do parkour class, and, earlier today, someone thought it would be a good idea to dive over me. They hit the top pf my head and my body felt sick and weak afterwards for the next hour or so (kinda like how when you get a concussion, but that's not it. I checked) so i get home and am getting ready to take a shower and it feels like my nose was about to bleed, so i caught it and instead of blood, it was a clear yellow liquid that dripped out. It only dripped a few times though. But what is it?

  • can something be under so much compression that it gives off electrical discharge?

If the object's shape wasn't changed, and it was under tons of compression, could the energy that was being used to compress it be discharged? I know that electricity is from transfer of electrons, but is it possible?

  • Are there any good videos on plasma propulsion/ion propulsion?

I'm trying to understand how a plasma thruster works so I can tinker with the design (and possibly design a weaponized version) but long articles with no visuals don't do it for me. So are there any good videos on this? Thanks

  • Does plasma have a noticeable force if it's moving? Can it be effected by a solid force?

I'm curious about possible plasma repulse technology. I need to know if plasma can emit a force comparable to a combustive gas

  • Are there any jobs in Applied sciences? Or is it best to specialize in one science?

As a freshman in high school who, throughout his life, has been in love with all sciences. Is there any carrier fields that are all sciences? My goal is to be as diversified as possible in the scientific world, because I just love it. But I feel as if being a specialist is the best for a carrier. (I've narrowed down my major to a few different engineering carriers: Energy, Hydroelectric, mechanical, Aeronautic, and Astronautic) However, if there is a job in some sort of Applied Sciences field, I'd like to do that. Is there such a field? If there is, could you give me any resources please?

    Thank you :)

  • When pushing two magnets together, what happens to the work?

I recently learned about induction through electromagnetism. Through careful questioning, and given the information about the conservation of matter/energy: If you were to take two permanent magnets and pushed them together north to north (or south to south) what happens to the work done by you on the magnets to push them together? The energy can't just disappear, and I don't think it turns into thermal energy. Can the work be turned into electricity (much like pushing a magnet through a coil and creating current)?

  • Why do you warship a god?

    I've recently asked a question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiLkH...

about why people are religious. But here is my follow up question:

Why do you warship a god? Is it just because "he created" you? Is there a deeper purpose? Why should you put time and effort into warshipping something that created you? That being said, why wouldn't you warship your parents? Why do people build gigantic monuments to warship in?

(I'm not trying to disprove anyone, I'm just really confused atm, i'm not understanding Theist reasoning, so I am trying to understand)

  • Why are you religious?

    (This is a personal question)

I'm curious as to why people are religious and why they feel their religion is "right" (if you do) Please answer, I am confused. Why do you feel the need to believe in a deity?

  • Can I move Sony Vegas to another Computer?

I recently got a new desktop computer, and I have already put Sony Vegas on it. (I bought it) But it's also on my slow Laptop. I'd like to uninstall it from my laptop, but can I get the copy back onto my Sony profile so I might download it somewhere else again? (If you buy Sony Vegas, you get a few copies to download on different computers.) I don't want to lose a copy of Sony if I uninstall it from my laptop and can't reinstall it somewhere else

  • Why are human males so attracted to breasts?

I'm very interested in anthropology, and I've come to the question of why are we, men, so attracted to female breasts? Don't give me that **** about "because men are pigs" There has to be a reason.

Is it taught? Were men always attracted to them? Is it evolutionary? If so, why?

Please enlighten me. If you're a creationist, don't bother answering unless you're willing to explore science and try to explain it without relying on magical deities to explain things you, yourself, don't understand.

  • Could I be hypoglycemic?

Since I hit puberty (about 3 years ago) if I don't eat breakfast, I get feel like I am going to get sick. I start shaking and start getting light headed. But once I eat, I immediately feel 1000% better. I had used to think this was because of my super fast metabolism. (which I do have) but now i'm not so sure if that's why this happens.
