Name of mystery novel (Agatha Christie maybe?)?
Trying to remember title of mystery novel from school. Grade 5/6. Thought it was And Then there were none but apparently I'm wrong.
Bunch of people together in typical isolated house. People die. The guests are paired up for some reason and are given words on paper and maybe something else. They don't trust each other at all and I think more people die. Eventually they start sharing their words. The words are from a song, poem or bible passage. It's the words that are missing that are actually the clue (I think). They figure it out and the person is all "oh, I did it" but I think they were covering for someone. I missed the ending so I'm not sure. I think one of the characters had "crow" in their name? Any idea?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors5 years agoPopulate a textarea using jquery?
Okay, not sure why this easy jquery is not working for me.
I have a textarea field (Text Box to fill) and a button (EvilButton). When the EvilButton is clicked I wanted it to populate the textarea field.
$(document).ready(function(){
var stupidField = $('textarea[title=Text Box to fill]');
var headerOP1 ='<div><b>So stupid</b></div>';
var headerOP2 ='<div><b>I know</b></div>';
$(stupidField).val(headerOP1);
$("#EvilButton").click(function(){
alert('hi');
$(stupidField).val(headerOP2);
});
});
Everything about this works except the headerOP2/"I know" does not get populated upon button click.
"So stupid" first appears when you open page, the alert works but $(stupidField).val(headerOP2); is not working, I've even tried using $(stupidField).val(headerOP1); which clearly works earlier but doesn't seem to work with the button click. *sigh*.
2 AnswersProgramming & Design7 years agoHow do I got about getting a custom HO scale truck?
I'm hoping to get a customer HO truck made but I have no clue how to go about it. I really just need a regular semi-truck with a logo/mural painted on it. Do I have to find someone who specializes with HO scale models? Is this something an artist/crafty person can do instead? Better yet, are there shops out there that can just print pictures onto objects? I haven't a clue where to start. Direction would be appreciated.
Hobbies & Crafts8 years agoPot to pot transplanting?
I received a little avocado plant as a present and although new leaves are growing (I haven't killed it yet! A new record!) it's starting to show signs of stressing out (as per google anyway). I'm pretty sure it's stressing out as it's over due to be transplanted as when I received the plant I was told it was about time to transplant it and that was *cough* 2 months ago *cough*.
I've...never transplanted a thing before so...
1. It's in a 6'' pot now...what size of pot do I need next? (it's dangerous for the plant to get a pot that is too big right?)
2. I was told i need to get loose soil so the water can drain. Is there a...term or type for this soil so I can actually find it?
3. How do I ensure I don't damage the roots when I transplant it?
4. How do you transplant it? Take a shovel and dig it out of it's pot? Turn it upside down? *shrug*
5. Is it bad to move the plant around a lot (pot and all)?
6. Is "misting" just spraying it with water?
Also, if it matters, I have no intention of planting it outside.
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape10 years agoHow do I get my desktop to connect to my wireless?
It was connecting to my wireless but I had to wipe off my hd and reinstall everything. I have my wep key, and i've installed the drivers for my wireless card but...I don't know what to do now. I tried playing around with the network connections but the list of available wireless networks isn't popping up. Help!
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoWill my old Mac games work on my new Mac?
I have this awesome Game called Gahan Wilson's Ultimate Haunted House. I got it early/mid 90s back when I was running 7.2.1. I bought a new Mac G4 running OSX back when they first came out (2003/4 I believe). When I purchased this tower the sales person said running an old game on my new Mac can cause damage to my tower and advised that I don't play any of my old games. Aww boo. I can live without number munches but I can't live without my Haunted House game. Does anyone have any more details on if what the store dude told me is true and how to tell if you game will cause trouble?
Oh, I also got a new laptop, 10.4 but I don't have Classic so even if I was daring i couldn't play it on my laptop. Do you know where I can download classic?
