Have asked a question "How to configure search machines to find what I want appropriate to UK or Ireland?"?
Only one answer - So I chose it as best answer and wish to thank person who answered it - So I clicked on BEST ANSWER and it came up as "NO BEST ANSWER" !!!!
I know I have criticised the "people" who "RUN" answers but this is puerile and other words which I cannot spell !!!! mainly in Anglo Saxon
1 AnswerOther - Ireland9 years agoHow to configure search machines to find what I want appropriate to UK or Ireland?
It might be interesting to find obscure little places in the backwoods of Dakota but more often than not it is of no interest to me.
1 AnswerOther - Education9 years agoHas Dana now assumed the "sob story" approach of American Idol and American X-Factor?
Go now please - stop bleating and complaining.
Do we want a president who cannot deal or cope with criticism or family problems
We DO NOT want to know what she has endured
We want to know how she will use the DIGNITY and privilege of being our President to promote our interests abroad in a humane, productive, SINCERE way
1 AnswerCurrent Events10 years agoCan I win "America's got Talent" - I cannot sing but i have some great sob stories about my life?
and I cry my eyes out when relating those stories and i can say "great jab" whatever that is
9 AnswersPerforming Arts1 decade agorecording a web cam viewing?
When you are viewing somebody on web cam using "messenger" is there any way to record what you see
2 AnswersCamcorders1 decade agoWhy, in "America's Got Talent" do people seek the sympathy vote.?
By telling their personal tragedies - conquering cancer, my favourite grandmother died and I miss her so much! to acclaims of that imbecile David "Hassitoff" uttering meaningless expressions like "good job".
We all have personal stories and tragedies. We do not seek public sympathy but quietly and humbly "get on with it"
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHow can one claim refugee status or even asylum status and be able to go on holidays to your own country?
I know of at least 2 people who have claimed and received refugee status and 1 person who has claimed and received asylum.
The rulers and government and conditions in their own country have not changed since they were living there, yet they openly go back annually on holidays. (Not the continent of Europe!!)
Are we in Ireland naive or is there something I am missing?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHow many people find this irritating?
Just back from 2 weeks in USA. I had a fantastic time in a beautiful land with beautiful people.
If any shop assistant asks me again " How are you doing, today?" and tells me to "have a nice day" I shall slowly strangle them!
I find both phrases and variations irritating and meaningless at best, patronising and monotonous and vacuous at worst.
Is the same "greeting manual" used for training staff/associates/shop assistants all over the States.
Ugh!!!!!

1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoI want to tidy the cables behind the TV, DVD etc. Can I safely shorten the electric leads?. ?
Cable ties are not a satisfactory. Each appliance has a detachable lead so they can be replaced if and when necessary.
Does shortening the leads interfere with safety? I know I can shorten the the coax cables.
Serious answers from people with a knowledge of electrics would be appreciated
8 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoCan you get a "jammer" to jam the radios /ipods of thoughtless people on public transport?
I have no problem with people using Ipods etc - I have one myself - but it is turned down so I am the only one listening to it.
10 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhy is a question posted and when you go to the trouble of answering it, it has been withdrawn.?
Far too often we go to the trouble of giving a cogent, balanced view to a sometimes obnoxious, sometimes fair, complicated question when we try and submit the answer the question has been withdrawn.
Seems like = entice an answer and withdraw the question = CENSORSHIP of a manipulative, dangerous and inquisitive manner
4 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoAm I alone in finding michael buble uninteresting, and not good to listen to.?
I definitely would not buy or listen to a cd by him
13 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoDoes pressing the "pedestrian" button at TRAFFIC lights really make any difference? I don't think it does.
I think traffic lights follow a sequence even if you press the button. - at least it appears so in Navan, Co Meath. I think it is a type of "Placebo" appearing to give you a choice. The traffic lights change in sequence and the "little green man" come on also in sequence irrespective of you pressing the button or not.
NB. I am not talking about dedicated PEDESTRIAN crossings.
14 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWhat is a "DMV" office - it was given as part of a "best"???? answer for driving licences in Ireland
We do not have any of those in the Republic of Ireland or the rest of the British Isles, to the best of my knowledge. A "best" answer surely should not give meaningless information.
10 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoWhy are people afraid of using the word "problem" and replacing it with that omnipresent meaningless "issue"?
I am an issue of my parents. Papers/magazines have different issues
