  • Guitar amp output power question?

I'm planning on putting a headphone jack in an older Giannini amp. I have no problem determining the correct resistor values to attenuate the signal for any given output power, but my problem is that I don't know what that output power is. It's not shown on the amp, and I haven't been able to find anything on the 'net.

The input power is 50 watts. I'm guessing that the output is about 20W (into a 12" 4 ohm speaker), so I plan on using values for a 30 Watt output.

    Any comments?

  • Crosman .357 6-shot problem?

I have an older model Crosman .357 that came with 6-shot cylinders. I bought some 10-shot cylinders from a Crosman dealer after being told they would work in my gun. However, these cylinders won't index properly. I can only use them if I treat this as a single-action revolver and manually move the cylinder into position after I cock the hammer.

Has anyone else tried 10-shot cylinders in the 6-shot model?

  • Problem with anti-reflective glasses?

I have two pairs of glasses that I suspect have problems with their anti-reflective coating.

The first pair lasted about two years before the lenses started to become cloudy around the edges. Here's what they look like:

    http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt94/pahoo_pb/g...

The second pair lasted only 7 months before they started to cloud up almost overnight. I brought them back to where I bought them (yesterday), and their only solution was to replace the lenses for $353.98 (plus tax). Arguing with them brought the price down to $180, and a call to their corporate offices is supposed to get me a further $50 reduction (I haven't seen that yet).

A search of the internet has led me to believe that the anti-reflective coating can be quickly removed without destroying the lenses. Has anybody here ever had this done? And if so, where, and what was the cost?

    Thanks

  • Looking for opinions on a Hondo bass guitar?

My grandson has been hinting that he'd like to learn bass guitar. We've been discussing getting him one for Christmas, but I don't want to go overboard on price because I've seen way too many guitars on Craigslist posted by people who bought one and gave it up after a month or two.

So.. I'm looking into a used Hondo (looks like a Series 808) that comes with a small RMS bass amp for $90. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/msg/26293920...

If he shows enough interest, I'll look into a better guitar later. Any opinions on this guitar/price?
