  • Prove that for a subordinate matrix...?

    Prove that for a subordinate matrix norm ||.||, | λ | <= ||A|| for every eigenvalue of λ of A.

    What I have so far:

    | λ | <= || A ||

    || λx || <= || A || * || x ||

    and I know || Ax || <= || A || * || x || has to fit in so far, but I'm not sure where that piece fits.

  • Is there a statute of limitations for federal credit unions?

    I have a loan that went unnoticed for many years and more than doubled in what I owed. They never contacted me that it was in default until it had doubled. My lawyer said not to worry because they couldn't take legal action and for years they went silent. Now they are back asking for money.

    It's the Naval Federal Credit Union and I was wondering if there is a statute of limitations for borrowing from a federal bank. The last payment was about 13 years ago.

  • Will this processor work in my MB?

    I just recently got a PNY MB (MBM730A8200) GeForce 8200. It says it's rated for the following processors:

    Socket for AMD PhenomTM processor (socket AM2+)/AMD

    AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core/AthlonTM 64/SempronTM processors

    I was wondering, however, there are Phenom IIs that are also rated for AM2+ sockets... will these processors work in my MB?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenom_II#Thuban give a list of the processors.

  • Which college should i go to?

    Hello, I'm a transferring student coming out of a 2 year community college. I have a 3.93 GPA and I'm looking to eventually teach math (algebra and calculus). I'm currently majoring in math and possibly minoring in physics. I live in New Jersey and plan on commuting form New Brunswick.

    Any ideas? So far I'm looking into TCNJ & Rutgers... possibly Montclair as well.

  • Feminist movement around the world?

    I'm writing a paper on male dominance over women and was wondering why the feminist movement only effected certain cultures (european and american cultures). If anybody has any external links to this subject, that too would be much appreciated.

    It seems that in some cultures, women still don't have the same rights and privilages as american and european women have. Does this bother them?

  • general linear momentum questions?

    Just a few questions dealing with the laws of lin. momentum:

    1) Is linear momentum conserved in common applications? Explain

    2) Is the conservation of linear momentum consistent with Newton's 1st and 3rd laws of motion? Explain

    3) In a system of particles for which th total linear momentum is conserved, is the linear momentum of the individual particles constant? Explain

    4) Suppose that a particle of mass m1 approaches a stationary mass m2 and that m2 >> m1

    a) Describe the velocity of m2 after an elastc collision - that is, one in which both momentum and kinetic energy are conserved. Justify your answer mathematically

    b)What is the approximate momentum of m1 after collision?

  • Why don't you say "an uniform"?

    I always believed you use "an" before a noun starting with a vowel, like "an apple, an umbrella, an etc" so why do we belong to "a union" wearing "a uniform"
