I was told when I adopted my children that when they turned 18 they could get into their records with no problems. Is this true or is it a lie? I have told my oldest that when she turns 18 that she will know everything that she wants to know. I mean we tell her what we know but there are documents that we could not get. It gives her a peace knowing that if she wants to know she could know when she is 18 yo. Just wanted to make sure I am telling her right.

I have 7 children so the issue of school is nothing new to me. But when I am looking at what is best for them sometimes i need some advice. 2 of my children are 3 and 4. The four year old has a year and a half until she goes to Kindergarten. She is developmentally the same as the 3 year old because of neglect before I got her. I need to know if I would be hurting her self-esteem to have her go to school with her sister who has been raised as her twin. They even have their birthday party together since they are 12 months apart. It is the way they have chosen for themselves.

I really want to know from the people who were adopted from foster care what it feels like when you turn 18 years old and have a chance to look for your first family. It would be family that either had a TPR done on them or they signed over their rights. I would think it would be easier to think they wanted a better life for you rather then having them have a TPR done because of the needed documentation that they were unfit to be your parents. Both sides come to the same point and that has to be hard for the children. I am an adoptive mom of 5 and i want to know what you guys feel like on your 18th birthday. Do you feel like a trader to the people who have taken care of you? Do you feel anger at your first family that someone did not take you in? I really want to know so I can prepare for what I will face in 9 years with my first one. I would think that adoption from foster care would be different then as a baby because you were taken away because they were not able to do it for whatever reason. I do not want to offend but I really want to know

How much does a good water heater cost? I have a family of 9 and we need a good water heater that will get us all through showers without taking a cold one. If someone knows of what brand or what I should look for that would be great also. I have an all electric house.

I am an adoptive mom and I wonder if my children will go back to their birth family when they turn 18. Does anyone have experience with this?
