We had a appointment with the vet to get her checked out while pregnant, but they came early... The dogs don't look premature, though. They have fur, etc. I called the vet and he said just come in for the appointment to get her checked out. However, I heard online that you are supposed to get her checked within 24 hours after whelping, but the appointment is in a few days. I should just follow his instructions and go in then? I am writing a story. Here is the beginning of the first chapter. Of course, this is only the first draft and has quite a ways to go. :)

Star walked down the dark, shadowy forest path. The knotted trees that surrounded her swayed in the wind, looking like arms trying to reach her, trying to get a good hold and never let go. It was a moonless night, with only the stars to show her the way. To top it off, the weather was freezing. The cold stung her fingers and cheeks, and her threadbare dress did next to nothing in the extreme temperatures. But what really sent shivers up and down Star's spine was the fact that it wasn't even winter. On the contrary, it was the height of summer! The cold seemed to be a warning of some thing lurking deeper in the woods, something cold and heartless. But Star couldn't turn back. Not now. All of a sudden, Star tripped on a stone in the path and fell to her hands and knees. When she looked up, she was staring into the evil yellow eyes of a wolf. It was standing about six yards away. It's matted and tangled fur rose in every direction, and when it curled back it's lip to growl at her, she could see it's gleaming white teeth. Star could fell her heart thumping in her chest, and she broke out in a sweat despite her frigid surroundings. The wolf reared, then pounced. For a moment, time froze and Star looked at the wolf poised in midair, eyes gleaming with a mixture of hate and hunger. She opened her mouth to scream, and then she woke up with a gasp. Beads of sweat covered Star's brow, and she lay there for a moment to think about the awful dream. This wasn't the first time she had had it. Not at all. In fact, Star had been having the same nightmare sence the day her father died 3 months ago. Star could remember that day well. It had started normally, with her father pulling on his leather hunting boots and kissing Star, her older brother Luke, and Her little sister Tai goodbye. Then he had set out with the other hunters for a day of hunting. But her father had spotted a buck a distance away and had left the group to go shoot it. But along the way.. He had come across a wolf and... Star made herself think of something else.

OK, that is the beginning. I'm only 13, and wondering if you think this is a good beginning for a story. It has a lot more action in it, too. I have a lot of this book done, and I am wondering if you would buy it if you were in a bookstore. Any other thoughts? Sorry about the length, and thanks!!! :)

OK, I have 3 questions for everybody.

1. Have you ever had braces?

2. Did it hurt?

3. If it did hurt, why and how much did it hurt?

I am curious because I am getting braces on my top row of teeth, and my mom says it hurts a lot, and so does my sister. But then I over heard some people at the orthodontist say it didn't hurt at all. Who is right? Please be completely honest, I want to know what to expect. Thanks!!! :)

Then where do they want the kittens/ puppies to come from? the sky? I am not saying spaying is bad. I'm only 13, and a little confused. When and under what conditions is it ok to breed kittens/ puppies? Just curious. Could some one explain this to me calmly, without harassing me? Thanks!

Our filter system for our drinking system just got cleaned a week ago, so our water has some chlorine in it. I forgot, and i put my year-and-a-half-old goldfish in the water when i cleaned his tank. he was in his tank for a couple hours, and then he flipped upside down, but was still breathing. i coldnt figure out what was wrong untill I remembered. now hes in a bowl of good water with food, but is there anything else i can do so he wont die? ps. if you touch him, he starts swimming a little, but then flips over again.

We have a cardinal nest beside our house. Today the babies got up and started trying out their wings. But our cat caught one! It is hurt, and peeping. We put the cat away in the garage for a bit so it could not hurt the others. What should we do with the hurt one? And what do baby cardinals eat???!!! Please Help!!!
