Ouran High School Host Club vs. The Devil's A Part Timer (Hataraku Maou-sama)?
Which one is the better anime (I haven't read either of the manga, so please stick to talking about the anime only) and why? I've watched both and I loved both, but I'm interested in what other people think too.

Today I heard a friend of mine angrily muttering what sounded like "mahn mahn mahn" in the middle of a long sentence. What does this mean?

4 AnswersComics & Animation6 years agoWhat does "G ホイ..." mean in Japanese?
G ホイ showed up in a manga I was reading (Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji, chapter 47), but I have no idea if it's supposed to mean something. Unfortunately there aren't any translator's notes in the manga so I'm left clueless about what it is and why the two characters in the manga are so upset over it.

2 AnswersComics & Animation6 years agoIs light that shines through a window's curtain lace "filtered light"? If so, what is it called?
I'm growing mung beans as an experiment and I want to be able to describe what the light is called if it comes through a curtain lace. Is this called "filtered light"?
2 AnswersOther - Home & Garden6 years agoWhy does my 11-year-old Jack Russell Terrier's hind legs keep shaking?
She's a healthy Jack Russell Terrier, but I'm worried about her hind legs, which keep on shaking (shaking really quickly, to the point where a family member has described it as "twerking") whenever she stands still.
I asked a vet about it last year when my dog went for her check up and the vet said that it was normal.
Does this happen to your Jack Russell Terrier? Is this something that happens when dogs get old? Any information would be very much appreciated.
4 AnswersDogs6 years agoWhy is the Maka's voice actress in Soul Eater so emotionless?
I watched the first episode of Soul Eater (in Japanese with English subtitles) a week ago and the first thing I noticed about the anime was that Maka's voice actress was very emotionless. As in, her voice was flat and boring.
Can someone please tell me why the voice actress is like this? Does she always portray emotionless characters in other anime too? Or is it just that Maka is supposed to sound expressionless? It's really putting me off from watching more of Soul Eater.

12 AnswersCleaning & Laundry6 years agoWhat are school subjects that you can take in senior high in North America?
E.g. statistics, graphics and design, food technology, biology, calculus, photography, computer science, French, hospitality, child care, drama, geography, etc.
P.S. I've only been to high school in New Zealand so I'm not familiar with American high school systems (except the little things I know through movies like High School Musical, Mean Girls, etc.)
Please give me as many subjects as you can, and which subjects are more popular or less popular than others.

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay6 years agoWhy is there cloth around the tree trunks? (Picture included)?
In the picture (which is a screenshot of the Korean drama "My Love From Another Star"), the trees have straw cloths wrapped around them. I visited Japan recently (it was winter in Japan) and I saw the exact same straw cloth wrapped around the trees in front of the Osaka Castle.
What are these cloths and what purpose do they serve?
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape6 years agoWhat is "takopa"?
I read in a question-and-answer section for the manga (comic) One Piece that a character (Mr 2) likes "takopa". What exactly is "takopa"? Is it also a tea?
Here is the full question and answer from the manga:
Reader: What are "Orange Pekoe" and "Apple Tea"?[3]
Author: You know what apple tea is, right? It's tea. And orange pekoe is another kind of tea. It's true that all the members of the BW like different kinds of tea. Mr. 3 likes "Earl Grey", Miss Goldenweek likes "green tea", Mr. 5 likes "gunpowder tea", and Miss Valentine likes "lemon tea", and so on. They drink it at a lot of different places. But Mr. 2 likes "takopa".
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink6 years agoCan someone please give me a summary of the first season of Tokyo Ghoul?
I haven't read or watched anything about Tokyo Ghoul since the last episode of the first season was released (September 2014), but after having started watching the second season (Tokyo Ghoul Root A), I found myself very confused with what was happening.
Can someone please explain what happened in the first season of Tokyo Ghoul, including the different characters present at the battle at the end of the first season (what were they doing there, who are the different groups of people, why were they there). Hopefully a summary will help to jog my memory about what happened.
3 AnswersComics & Animation6 years agoHow do you pronounce "Don Quixote"?
I watch One Piece (an anime) and there's a character with the name Don Quixote, and I also know of a Japanese department store called Don Quixote, so I've always been pronouncing Don Quixote in the Japanese way, i.e. "Dohn-kee-ho-teh (ドン・キホーテ)". Is this the right way to pronounce the name in English?
I understand that it might be pronounced in a different way in Spanish (I think Don Quixote is Spanish, but my sincerest apologies if I'm incorrect), but like other foreign names, there's usually a certain way that we pronounce it in English so that everyone can understand, even if it is technically incorrect, e.g. Samsung is pronounced "sehm-sah-ng (셈상
)" in English, while it's "sahm-song (삼성)" in Korean.
