I would like to know the weight of cardboard needed to adequately protect a large appliance like a U.S. full sized washing machine or dryer or dishwasher for shipment from the factory to retailer or consumer. I'm looking for the weight of the box, not the weight of the appliance. Is there a typical grade of cardboard used for these types of applications?

I used to buy my boxer brief men's underwear at JC Penney, but they discontinued the kind that I used to buy. They came in waist sizes (34, 36, 38, etc.) instead of just S-M-L-XL. Now they only have the kind that come in S-M-L-XL and they don't fit the same. I wear a 36 inch waist. I want boxer briefs that have a low waist (so they don't come all the way up to my belly button) but a longer length of fabric extending down the leg so they don't ride up. I have tried several brands but have not been able to find one that fits the same as the old JCP brand. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I have a three story home. The top floor has its own a/c system for a living area of about 1,000 square feet with 12 foot ceilings thoughout most of the area and a large surface area for windows. The area is approximately sqaure and by the looks of the attic is not overly well-insulated. My central a/c unit went stopped working (it is 7 years old). What type / brand /size seer rating should I recplace the broken unit with? I was thinking of putting in a whole new unit since it is 7 years old. I currently have a 2.5 ton unit but it can't keep up on hot days, so I was thinking of going with a 3.0 ton unit instead. Any advice?
