  • Should I date him or not?

I met a great guy a little while ago and have since been talking to him everyday and seeing him several times a week. We go on cute little dates around town, and cuddle and kiss. I feel great chemistry with him, and we get along really well. He says he really likes me and that he's falling for me.Here's the thing--he really wants me to be his girlfriend, and I want to be as well. However, I don't like rushing into relationships, and instead like to take things slow so I can gauge whether it would work out or not, but he's worried that in the meantime he'll get too attached and that I'll just end up leaving. I really think we would be a good couple, but I want more time to get to really know him so I know that it will last in the long run, but I don't want to keep leading him on if I decide that it wouldn't work out. I feel like that he's going to get hurt if I keep prolonging it, and that it really isn't fair to him. We already act like a couple as it is, but should I take the next step and make it official?

  • Difference between Dressage and Hunter frame?

What is the difference in how riders want each frame to look? Don't they both want the horse driven from behind? This is disregarding hyper-flexion/rollkur.

  • Horse Books suggestions?

I need some suggestions for horse care and horse riding books. For the horse riding books, what would you suggest for both beginner AND advanced riders? What are some books that helped you the most? Thanks in advance. :)

  • Jealous of people with horses?

Hi, let me just start off saying I'm extremely jealous of people who have and get to ride horses. I used to take lessons, and that sparked a passion that has not gone away. My mom couldn't afford them, and the only place willing to let me work off lessons is too far away. I've looked for jobs to pay for them myself, but the unemployment is really high in my area and I haven't had any luck. None of my friends have horses either, so I can't just ride theirs. I hear and watch people everyday brag about their riding lessons and horses, and it honestly breaks my heart that I can't be a part of that. I'm so torn with envy that I can't have that. My question is how can I get over a lost dream? I honestly can't think of anything else I can do to continue lessons, so can anyone help me just accept this and stop feeling jealous? It honestly makes me cry, I know I have so much to be thankful for but they are my passion, and I just don't know what to do to stop this pain.

  • Guinea pigs-keep or give away?

I'm going to start at the beginning. I rescued these two female guinea pigs, both about 3.5 years old. I just got them a week ago and since then warmed up to me some. I still can't touch them but they will accept treats for me. Well I cleaned their cage today, and let me just say that is terrified them. I had to move them to another cage, and so I had to pick them up. After all the noise and moving around from cleaning they got so scared that they're acting like they did when I first got them. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm not really the right owner for them. I'm worried that I will have to regain their trust every week after losing it every time I clean their cage. The way it's set up I'll have to do the same thing every week. I'm thinking that I should give them to someone who would be able to provide a better home for them. I heard some piggies don't even warm up to their owners years after getting them, so that makes me feel a bit better, but I want what's best for them. Thoughts?

My other question is that I read that you're supposed to handle them every day to de-sensitize them and get them used to it. But I think that if I did that, they would actually get more afraid of me from me trying to catch them every day and taking them from their cage. Should I just leave them be or try to get them used to handling, no matter how scared they may be?

  • Aggressive guinea pig, please help?

So I rescued a 3.5 year old female guinea pig, and she has been behaving very aggressively. She chatters her teeth whenever I come to the cage, and if I put my hand in she bites me. If I touch her she literally jumps up freaks out. But she takes treats from my hand. Her cage mate however doesn't make any noise at all, and runs in her hidey house when she sees me. She's scared to death of me. They were neglected, so didn't receive a lot of interaction their whole lives. Is this a learned behavior, that she will be unlikely to break? I know it's very uncommon for a guinea pig to bite. What things can help? Also the cage is only about 2 x 2, and I know they need a bigger cage but is that what's causing her aggression?

  • Neighbor with a lot of cats?

For over a year, my neighbor has had a lot of cats and kittens on her property. They had up to 17 cats at one point who were all inbred because they refused to get them fixed. 4 cats of theirs in one year got ran over by cars, including two kittens(by their own car!). Then a bunch of others mysteriously went missing(they didn't even care.) Not only that, but almost every night you can hear them screaming from fighting with other cats. They also defecate and pee all over their house, and they have a baby in their house who can get seriously ill from that. I tried getting them to spay and neuter their cats, but they won't, even when I offered to help pay for it. Is there anything that can be done? Right now they have about 10, if not more, cats and kittens(one just had ANOTHER litter of 7),

  • Taming neglected guinea pigs?

So I rescued two female 3.5 year old guinea pigs from a neglectful owner. They had been with her their whole lives, and received little interaction. They both run away from me(although that's normal anyway) but one even chatters at me and tries to bite me! I know that's unusual behavior towards a human, so that worries me. My question is, will they ever get tame and loving or are they too set in their ways since they've been neglected for so long?

  • Rescuing neglected guinea pigs?

Tomorrow I'm getting two neglected female guinea pig who are about 3.5 years old each. For pretty much their entire life, they have been confined to a 2 x 3 cage, with little socialization, and who constantly were forgotten to be fed and given water. They have rarely been veggies. My question is, if I start taking really good care of them, how long do you think they'll live? I heard well taken care guinea pigs often live up to 8 years, and I'm just worried that once I get attached to them, they'll die soon after. Any idea? (Usually they live 6-8 years, anything less is uncommon for ones well cared for).

  • People letting cats breed then dumping kittens?

Why do a lot of people just let their cats have a bunch of kittens and then just give the kittens away to random strangers because they aren't willing to care for them? I mean, why even let the cat have kittens if you'll just give them away to never see them again? I've always wondered that, I mean if someone can't afford to get their cat spayed then they probably shouldn't have one, because that means they probably can't afford vaccinations or vet bills either. Thoughts? Different opinions?
