I am torn. I have this dusty old pioneer receiver that I bought about 10 years ago but never used. I want a small music stereo for my home office. A nice iPod speaker dock like the Kicker iKick501, Yamaha PDX-31, or an entry level Klipsch are appealing candidates for this task. But since I had the old receiver laying around I thought buying some speakers like

JBL Studio 1 Series Studio 130 Home Audio Speaker

Yamaha NS-6490 3-Way Bookshelf Speaker

Klipsch Synergy B-20 Premium 5.25-Inch Bookshelf Speake

Or something like that might be a better option so that the receiver could get use. I have a JBL OnBeat Extreme Dock in my family room so I know what a high-end speaker dock sounds like, but just not too sure if bookshelf speakers would or would not do the job as well as that dock. A decent dock and a pair of speakers are in the same price range anyway.

About me:

I love a wide variety of music Classical, Jazz, Electronic, RnB, Bluegrass, HipHop, Rock, the whold gammut really, and take the time to archive my music as FLAC and generally listen to LAME 320CBR mp3s. I usually listen to music with my Sony MDR-V6 headphones via an old Rockboxed 5th Gen iPod video or Sansa Clip. So I like sound, I would not call my self an audiophile, but I do want a small system that will give me the best results without spending anymore than $150.

At most this will become a very small 2.1 system. I could picture adding a small subwoofer at some point but maybe never. This is strictly for music.

I have 83000 miles on a 2006 mustang gt and have never had my front brakes done. The person at the car service center says my steering wheel shakes when I'm slowing down because the rotors are warped and machining them is an option vs replacing them

Buying new rotors $90 + $60 labor

Machining rotors $120

What is the best option?

I have a new pair of pirelli pzero Nero on the back and was thinking about buying a pair of the yokohama s drive to place on the front. Is it bad to have mismatched tires on front and back? Will this introduce handling issues? The faulken 512's I have on the front are shot so I need to make a quick decision. Thanks!

I went to the doctor and my blood pressure was a little high. I think 192/40 i forgot. But anyway right away the doctor put me on 5mg Bystolic daily. I was afraid and started taking the pills right away. Then my common sense indicated that I need to have an average reading indicating high blood pressure instead of simply 1 reading. And then being prescribed medicine. Maybe my pressure was just so high I needed meds right away. This medicine makes me feel so tired and sluggish and I would liek to stop taking it but i heard about the horrible effects of starting and stopping blood pressure medicine and am afraid to stop abruptly even though I have only taken the pills twice. Im really confused. Any advice is dearly appreciated.

Im tired of going to the lab, its expensive and it takes them forever although they do an AMAZING job. I can save a bit of money learning to do it myself.

I am a D40 owner and from my understanding I cannot fire the SB600 wirelessly using the popup flash. Is it better to buy an sb400 and just sell it when I get a better camera? Or Get the Sb600 now anyway?

What are the advantages of both?

Does the Sb600 work with modern film cameras such as the N90/80/75/65 as well?

I own the 50mm 1.8 but it is such a pain that it will not AF on my D40! I assume the D70 and D40 have identical image quality. But should I upgrade my camera so I can AF? Or should I work with what I have and simply Get the new 35mm DX? both cost the same thing
