  • Can Plan B give you a period that lasts only half a day?

So exactly two weeks ago, I took Plan B around 18 hours after sex because we noticed that our condom fell off halfway through.

I got my period this morning at around 10am (2 days later than I should've gotten it) and the bleeding was pretty heavy. It's now 5:30pm and the bleeding has completely stopped.

I heard implantation bleeding happens to some women? Could this be it? Or is this just Plan B messing with my cycle? I've never taken Plan B before so I don't know what's normal really. Thank you!

  • Is two semesters enough time to get to know a professor and get them to write a recommendation letter?

I've always found my professors very intimidating and never knew how to approach them. But I didn't anticipate that I would need them to write me recommendation letters to school.

I'm a rising senior thinking of applying to law school and right now not a single professor knows I exist. I still have two semesters left of school. Is that enough time to get to know a couple of professors and maybe get them to write me some recommendation letters? Are there any other people (i.e. employers, advisors, etc.) that can write me recommendations for me?

    Thanks

  • Marx: communism and the division of labor?

I'm having a really hard time with The German Ideology so I'd appreciate some help.

I have an essay question that's asking me to describe communism in terms of the two aspects of the division of labor. I assume this means describe communism in terms of the workers and the capitalists.

But how would I go about answering this? I'm very confused as to how communism occurs and what needs to happen for it to come to fruition.

If there's anyone that's really familiar with Marx, I'd appreciate the help.

  • Should your shoes match your shirt?

I'm planning to wear an olive green skirt with a black shirt, but I wanted to know if wearing a pair of creamy, off-white pumps would look good with the entire outfit. Or would that look tacky?

  • Muscle Pain in Right Shoulder...slight pain when inhaling?

I've been sleeping on my friend's couch for the past week and suddenly I woke up with some serious soreness behind my right shoulder. And sometimes, when I breath in very deeply, that soreness comes back and hurts a little bit.

Can pain when breathing happen as a result of muscle soreness? I also tend to have a lot of breathing issues so I want to make sure it's not that (I'm breathing deeply, no wheezing, and no trouble.)

  • Clear and frequent urination with no pain?

So for the last two days I've noticed that my urine is either a really light yellow or completely clear. The only strange part is that I haven't been drinking more fluids than usual. If anything I'm barely drinking two cups of water a day.

However, I'm peeing a lot more often than I usually do and it's a lot everytime I go. I even had to wake up two times last night to go, which I've never had to do in my life.

There's no pain, I don't have a fever, so I'm wondering what's wrong. It can't be normal, and I'm only 19. Thank you!

  • Strange extensions on Google Chrome?

I have a Macbook Pro running on OSX 10.7.5. Today, while I was booting up my computer, I got this weird notification from Domain Error Assistant (which I've never heard of before).

I checked my extensions tab on Chrome and saw a few extensions called Domain Error Assistant, Searchme, and something else else, that looked really sketchy.

I uninstalled them, deleted them, and restarted my computer, and so far everything is running smoothly.

What were those things? Was it a virus? Malware? Is there anything else I need to do to my computer to make sure that it's safe? I don't have any cleaning/anti-virus software because I was told that my Mac didn't need it.

  • Question for Republicans: would you vote for Trump if he became the Republican candidate for the 2016 presidency?

I'm very very dubious of Trump actually winning the nomination despite his popularity in the polls, but let's assume a nightmarish situation and say that he actually does win the nomination and winds up running against the democratic candidate (who will almost definitely be Hilary Clinton).

As a republican: would you vote for Trump, would you place your money on an independent, or would you just avoid the polls altogether?

  • Can not wearing your retainer cause your jaw to start clicking/popping?

Lately I've noticed when I don't wear my retainer for more than two nights in a row, my left jaw joint feels like it's offset. Like, I'll open and close my mouth, and my jaw joint will start popping and clicking like crazy. When I wear my retainer consistently, it's not at all noticeable when I'm chewing or talking. But if I purposefully move my jaw a certain way, I can still feel the clicking.

Is this something that I should go have checked out, or should I just forget about it and keep wearing the retainer? There's no pain, it's just super annoying and sometimes gets in the way of eating brushing my teeth whenever I go without my retainer for a while.

  • My retainer is 5 years old and I'd like a new one, but it's $400??

So my retainer is about five years old. For the past two years (because I grind my teeth), the plastic has worm and there are a few cracks and holes towards the back teeth. Despite all this, they still fit over my teeth just fine. I was just hoping to get new ones since they're so damn old.

But because I'm already 20, my insurance won't cover retainers anymore and it's apparently going to be a whole $400 to get new ones.

Does that sound right? Does anyone know of any labs that might be able to give me these retainers for a little bit cheaper? It just seems so unfair to have to pay so much for a replacement when the old ones are just too old.

  • I need to borrow $20k for school this semester. What loans should I use?

I need $20k in student loans, and I don't qualify for any subsidized loans or Perkins loans.

I can take out up to $7500 in unsubsidized federal loans, but I obviously need a lot more money in loans than that. What are some good student loans that have low interest rates and good repayment plan options (i.e. loans with income based repayment would be nice).

    Thanks

  • Beginner's tips for how to care for curly hair?

I straighten my hair everyday and I'm starting to notice my hair getting brittle, so I figured I might as well try and embrace my curly hair instead of flat ironing it every day.

But I seriously don't know how to take care of it or the best way to style it. I have very fine hair, but it curls like mad. Is there a certain way I should be washing/drying it? Ways to style it? How to keep curls in tact and looking neat?

  • Is the Ukraine Conflict enough to set off a major war between US and Russia? Or even a third World War?

I'm really paranoid when it comes to international conflict, and the idea of Russia and the US showing aggression / disfavor towards each other because of this Ukrainian conflict worries me. I'm also worried that aggression could also build between Russia and other European counties and spark another World War (which is ultimately what terrifies me).

Am I overreacting, or does the world have valid reason to significantly worry about this conflict?

  • How to build a resume for a retail job when I have no retail experience?

I honestly just need a job for the summer so that I can make some money. I'm trying to send an app to New York and Company but of course they want a resume.

I've worked at calling centers, university libraries, non-profit companies, and as a hospital volunteer, but I don't have a shred of retail experience.

Is there a way I can present all those odd jobs in a way that would make me favorable as a sales associate?

Bonus question: does anyone know any retail chains / stores where experience isn't required for an entry level position?

    Thanks!!

  • Gums around my back molars really hurt?

So for the past three-ish days, the gums right behind the wisdom tooth on my right side have suddenly really started hurting. When I'm talking or just sitting around, it doesn't really bother me, but eating and brushing my teeth are really painful.

I just went to the dentist this week for a cleaning. He also did x-rays and everything was just normal. He also looked at my right wisdom tooth and said it's coming in just fine.

I do wear a plastic retainer at night that's a little cracked (I grind my teeth at night, but my orthodontist said it was okay to keep wearing it so long as it still fit over my teeth), but I've been wearing this retainer for months and it's never caused my gums to become irritated.

Should I just wait it out? Is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain? It doesn't look swollen or red or anything like that. It looks normal. It just really hurts.

  • What Protestants are NOT Puritans?

I know that Puritans were a sect of Protestantism that mainly stemmed from the work and ideals of Calvin. But what are examples of Protestant sects that weren't Puritan?

Like I know the Church of England was Protestant but Puritan. But what else? Lutherans? Separatists? I'm learning this in my philosophy class and I'm getting really mixed up.

    Thanks!!

  • Want to start working out, but I don't know where to start?

I recently just switched universities and now have access to a full gym (I'm talking treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, resistance machines, the works). So I figured this would be a good time to lose weight and tone up, but I don't even know where to start with all this.

I'm a 19 year old female, around 5'4" and around 165 pounds. I'm hoping to lose around 30-35 pounds. I'm that kind of person that when I gain weight, I gain it all over (my arms, my stomach, my legs, my face, etc.) I'm willing to do anything in the ways of diets and exercise plans, but I'm very inactive at the moment and don't know much about the best way to burn fat and gain muscle.

Does anyone have any advice in terms of easing into working out and maybe some workout schedules I could try out so that I can see results maybe by the middle of next year?

    Thanks!

  • Bleeding After Sex?

Second time having sex. He was just fingering me, but he was being kind of rough, and I remember it stinging a little, kind of like I was being stretched out too much too quickly? I don't know how to describe it.

Anyway, when I went to the bathroom last night, there was blood. Not a lot, just a bit of spotting. But I woke up this morning and it's still spotting a little bit. I also woke up feeling a little sore down there as well. It also feels like it's a little swollen down there. I remembered that swelling happening when I first had sex too, but I never bled that time.

I know the bleeding isn't normal, but does it sound like there's anything seriously wrong with me, or was the guy just too rough?

  • Volume Control Headphones for Samsung Galaxy?

Trying to find a pair of headphones for my friend that have volume control capabilities that is also compatible with a Samsung Galaxy phone (an s4 I believe). Most of the headphones that I find online have volume control settings on the wire, but are only Apple compatible, so I was wondering if there are any Android options with good quality sound.

The cheaper the better, but any options are welcome. Thanks!

  • Been a year since I wore retainer, but I can still get them on?

I used to wear my retainers at night after I got my braces off, but I haven't worn my retainer in about a year. My dentist noticed my teeth have shifted (especially the bottom ones).

My top ones fit almost perfectly (I guess they haven't shifted much). I can get the bottom retainer in, but it's a tight fit and it hurts a bit when I first try to put them on. But once I get the bottom ones in all the way, they're virtually painless.

I have an appointment with my orthodontist in three weeks, but do you think that if I start wearing my retainers 24/7 (except eating) it'll help shift my teeth back to their original position? Or should I not do anything at the moment and just wait the three weeks until my appointment?
