How do I find the amplitude of 5sin(2t) + 6cos(2t) ?
I tried doing 5 * root(2)/2 + 6 * root(2)/2 because I thought that sin + cos is at a max at 45 degrees, but I guess that's not how you do it.
Thanks!!!
2 AnswersMathematics10 years agoHow do you say "it's probable that they were very tired" in Spanish?
Is it "Es probable que ellos estaran muy cansados" ?
I'm not sure how to use the subjunctive in the past tense.

5 AnswersLanguages10 years agoA few questions about a betta?
I just got a 5 gallon tank with a filter and a light. I am going to get a betta tomorrow.
I have a rock type hiding place for him.
1) Should I put gravel in the tank? Will it be too hard to clean then?
2) If I do put gravel in the tank, how do I clean it?
3) How often should I change the water? 30% weekly?
4) It says here v that an oto catfish and a betta work well together. Do you think this is correct?

6 AnswersFish10 years agoAlgae eater with a betta?
I'm about to get a 5 gallon tank for a male betta. I was wondering if there's any type of small, inexpensive sucker fish or algae eater type fish that I could put in as well. Is 5 gallons too small for a betta and another fish? What type would be ok?
Thanks :)

When I'm digitizing a VHS tape, I can't get the first few seconds because it begins so abruptly that I can't get the DVD going in time. They're crucial to the video
Any ideas?

4 AnswersCamcorders1 decade agoWhat does 'last trade' mean?
I assume it means the last time a share was traded... but today (the 27th) it says the last trade for Apple is March 25th. I thought Apple stocks were constantly being traded?
Thanks :)
3 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoWhat is "project" in relation to the stock market?
I have a history assignment and I need to explain different words that relate to the stock market. One of the words is "Project". Do you think this means projected stocks like what they think the stocks will be, or something else? Thanks!
2 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoWhat's that movie with the club of little boys...think one's named Sparky?
They have a meeting house in this dilapidated shack thing... I remember this nerdy kid had a crush on a little girl or something.. hahaha. Ugh this is bothering me. I think I might have seen it on ABC Family.
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWhy do I always want to avoid kissing my boyfriend?
It's pretty weird... I really like him, but when he goes to kiss me or when we're in a situation where he might kiss me I always get a bit nervous that he actually will. I don't know why!
I'm not nervous about kissing in general.. I've had boyfriends before with whom I loved to kiss.
Any ideas?? Thanks!
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhy does ln(1 + 2^x) not equal zero?
Isn't that the same as ln(1) times ln(2^x)
ln(1) = 0
So won't it = 0 for all values of x?
The problem says that this is the acceleration, so that would mean that the acceleration is zero and so the slope is constant. But none of the answers are a constant slope.

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoThis is a pretty stupid description of Communism... right?
Our history textbook says:
Communism: an economic and political system based on a single-party government ruled by a dictatorship.
I mean in practice, sure. But this is a history textbook! Shouldn't it at least explain what Communism was MEANT to be?? Or something?? Idk it just seems a little... lacking. Do you agree?
4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoCalculus direct comparison test problem?
I have the sum from n=1 to infinity of 1/(n^2) - 1/(2^n)
Can I use the direct comparison test and just knock out 1/(2^n) completely, or is that not allowed?
Because 1/(n^2) - 1/(2^n) is less than just 1/(n^2), and 1/(n^2) converges
Thanks!

1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoIs this a metaphor or an allegory?
... doomed by a judge and jury who knew neither of their existence nor cared.
The judge and jury is symbolizing farmers who kill animals with chemicals.
I know metaphors are shorter but I really can't tell. Thanks!
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoAn easy vapor pressure problem?
The critical point of CCl4 is 283ºC and 45 atm pressure.
CCl4 has a vapor pressure of 10 atm at 178ºC.
Is the normal boiling point of CCl4 greater or lower than 178ºC?
I'm just really confused at this... I know the answer is lower than, but I'm not sure how to explain it. All I can come up with is that 10 atm is a lot of pressure and it would make sense that the thing is boiling.
Thanks!!!
