Why is there an age restriction to the "Free Filing" sites that prepare taxes?
The IRS website offers links to various online software that prepares taxes. However, it depends on age in most cases. I understand the income restriction but not age. If you have an answer, can you please provide a reference?
1 AnswerUnited States8 years agoCan you make voice to video skype calls?
I know you can make video to video calls on skype and voice to voice. But can I have my mother in one state call me and see my children playing their instruments on video? She doesn't want a camera on her end.
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow much Maximum Ram?
I have a very old Dell Dimension 2400. It came with 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. The computer works great but it's slow. I'd like to add more RAM. There are only 2 slots which means I need to replace the current RAM with new stuff. How can I find out what the max is for the mobo? It doesn't show anything on the documentation. This computer was built back in 2004.
5 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoComputer Screen Black with press enter to continue?
My computer runs Vista. I had to do a fresh install on a new drive. Went to update the drivers after all was done and it looks like I updated the BIOS. Right after that I started getting a black screen when I power on. It goes through the BIOS image with the option to hit F2. Then it goes completely black and says "Press enter to continue."
Once I hit continue, the computer will boot up correctly. I am guessing I must have updated the BIOS with the wrong drivers. Shouldn't have done it to begin with but it's too late now. I have removed the CMOS battery and the jumper to clear it but I'm still having the problem. I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Please - only answer if you know what you're talking about or have an idea. No smarty pants answers. Normally I don't mind but I've been pulling out my hair for 2 weeks trying to fix this computer!
1 AnswerDesktops1 decade agoHow do you decorate ceiling fan blades?
I want to decorate the fan blades in my children's room. I've seen some on ebay and other places but don't know how to do it. Any suggestions? I want them to look professional and am not an artist so I can't do murals.
5 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoWhy put rum in a cake?
I found this cake recipe that I think my children would get a kick out of. My mother used to make that's called a Rainbow cake. You poke holes in the top of a regular cake and pour different colors of jello around and then chill and add cool whip on top. Good cake, but mushy. There is a new version out that uses angel food cake (my favorite!), slicing it horizontally and putting a layer of pudding between each slice. However, the day before it tells you to do the slicing of the cake, mix 1/2 cup white rum and 1/2 cup water. Sprinkle it on each layer of cake, wrap it and put it in the fridge overnight. Do you have any idea what purpose this rum would have other than flavor? I'm thinking of making it without the rum as I don't think it would taste good.
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoSetting up Network btn Vista & XP?
I'm having tons of problems setting up my home network. I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. The laptop is wireless and the desktops are hardwired. Each are on one wireless capable router and have access to the Internet. Here's the problem. I want to share files and the printer on the main desktop with the upstairs desktop and the laptop.
The workgroup is set up and I can see the workgroup. I can see the main desktop but I can't get any of the folders I've set up as shared to be seen. I am running McAffee on the Vista (for now) and Norton 360 on the XP (upstairs). I've even tried to map a network drive and still can't see it. However, I can see the printer but haven't tried to see if printing will work. Any suggestions on how I can see the drive that I mapped or at least the folder?
Thanks!
