How much Maximum Ram?

I have a very old Dell Dimension 2400. It came with 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. The computer works great but it's slow. I'd like to add more RAM. There are only 2 slots which means I need to replace the current RAM with new stuff. How can I find out what the max is for the mobo? It doesn't show anything on the documentation. This computer was built back in 2004.

Crucial.com (very reliable website regarding RAM type/capacity from a RAM manufacturer) lists the Dimension 2400 at a maximum of 2gb of RAM.

To max out your RAM, you will need to buy 2x1gb DDR333/PC2700 (two names for the same thing)

Maximum RAM in a 2400 is 2GB. But this is over kill. 2400's were budget machines. They will not run Vista or any newer program. Advice? Sorry stick with the 1GB.

According to the specs in the link below the max ram is 2gig. You really need to upgrade your whole system. You are still running DDR ram. That is one reason your system seams slow at 1gig.

depends on your computer, assuming you have a 32-bit processor you can only use 4 gb max

I doubt you're going to get a performance boost. Your CPU is too limited.
