  • Looking for a particular study, was on 60 minutes or something similar?

I saw a social experiment on television years ago, but I cannot remember what it was called. They had grade-school aged children and they showed them two names, one stereotypically white and one stereotypically of another race/ethnicity, and asked them questions about these names revealing stereotypes that even young children have of who's more likely to behave/not behave, succeed/not succeed. I cannot remember what show it was on, when it was, etc (within the last ten years certainly). If anyone recalls this and can lead me to a website with a summary of it (or better yet, a video clip of the study), that would be extremely helpful.

  • Need help finding a similar dress to this?

    http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Rose...

It's that sort of floral pattern that I love, on a black background. Exact nature of the floral pattern is negotiable but something along those lines would be nice. It'd be great if it was in a store too, not from an online shop like this, and no more than $40 or $50.

  • Some shopping help- finding a similar dress?

So I've found this dress online, and it's really not all that expensive but for a poor college student like me $65 plus $7 shipping is big bucks. Does anyone know of a similar dress that can be found in a common store (such as Macy's or Herberger's or Von Maur or some such place, I live near many large malls including the Mall of America so most stores have a location somewhere near me), so that I wouldn't have to pay shipping, preferably for less? $60 is probably fair for a versatile dress like that, but $70 is pushing my budget. I figure I may have some luck here seeing as it's not a particularly unusual design or anything and chances are someone's seen something at least similar.

    Here is the dress:

  • Approximate Cost of a Tattoo?

I want to get a small tattoo on my foot (about 2 in by 1in), just in one color, relatively simple design, one color. I want to get it done by someone who has alot of experience. I realize that rates can vary alot, but what sort of range am I looking at here? I also realize that many charge by the hour, this is my first tattoo so I have no concept of how long it will take. Does anyone have any estimates for me? Thanks!

  • Want to dye my hair an original color?

I'm a little tired of the same-old same-old with my hair. I love the way it looks when people with naturally dark hair dye their hair like a dark almost-black purple color, but being naturally blond i know that would look rediculous on me. Is there some sort of not-quite-natural color that would still look good for people with naturally dark blond hair and light beige complexions and blue-gray eyes? So many people are going for variations of bleach blond i feel like that's not original anymore.

  • Getting ear/nose piercings?

Okay, I'm a wimp. I really want to get my ear pierced halfway up (not upper cartilage but not quite earlobe either, right in the middle on the outside) and/or a small nose stud. I absolutely love the way they look and have the types of jewelry I want picked out and everything (both are studs, not rings), but the pain aspect scares me. I realize that long term it's worth it (as it was with my second ear piercing), but I can't help it- are there any ways they can like, numb the area up or anything just for the actual piercing itself (i can deal with soreness afterwards), or would I just have to suck it up?

  • How do I be an updo model?

I recently went to get my hair cut, and the stylists were amazed at how long my hair was and how thick it was. They asked if I had ever done any updo modeling, which I had never heard of. She said that generally you can get 50 bucks or so for doing it, and basically you just go in and someone does an updo, takes some pictures, and pays you. Being a poor college student with not much time on my hands this sounded like something that could be good.

I googled it and only found like super fancy shows that would be looking for professional models (with the height and the body). I'm not ugly but I'm for sure not a professional model, are there any opportunities for more casual sorts of things? Is this even a realistic option if you're not a professional model?

  • Got a weird warning from facebook?

I opened a message from a friend on facebook and before i could even read it this thing popped up saying something about how my account could be disabled because of using it for spam or something? I haven't been sending any spam and that specific message was just my friend telling me about some people looking for an employee at a job i'd be really good for, which i guess could sound like spam, vaguely? Anyway is there anything that should do about that or just ignore it or what? I obviously don't want my account disabled

  • Shaving your legs?

mmk i need an arguement settled- my friend claims that shaving your legs everyday makes the hair grow back thicker and faster- I say that that's not even physically possible, it's like saying cutting your hair makes it grow back thicker and faster. So who's right- and if you say that my friend is right please give me REAL MEDICAL PROOF not just "oh well I heard that...."
