  • What size feeder mice should I order my baby corn snake?

I am getting a couple of baby corn snakes soon, and was going to order some baby feeder mice for them from laynelabs.com

They sell pinkies as 1 day olds, or medium/large pinkies (2-5 day olds)

They also sell small and large fuzzies.

I want to order a lot of mice so it will last them a few months, but dont know how much of which sizes to get.

I was thinking to get 100 day old pinkies, 50 of the medium/large pinkies, and then 25 small fuzzies to start.

So, feeding 2 snakes the small pinkies twice a week would last me about 25 weeks (2 mice per snake per week). Do you think baby snakes will be ready for the large pinkies, and then fuzzies by the time they would be done with the small pinkies? (at 25-30 weeks of age)

    What would you order?

    Thanks!

  • Can I feed my feeder mice dog food?

Ive heard the red dye is bad for the mice and snakes in dog food. But what if I feed them dog food that isnt dyed? Trying to find the cheapest thing to feed them.

  • Corn snake questions !?

I plan on getting 2 corn snakes soon, but have a few questions. I've been watching a lot of youtube videos, and noticed that a lot of snake owners have their corn snakes in plastic storage containers. This sounds awesome to me as a storage container is obviously way cheaper then a glass tank, but is it a humane home? Do the corn snakes need a tank tall enough for them to "stand up" in, or are the 6 inch tall containers comfortable for them ?

Another question, typically, are heat pads enough of a heat source to keep the tank warm enough for the snake, or should I also get them a lamp.

Final question, have any of you ordered any reptiles from BHB reptiles? Would you recommend them? I'm sort of sketched out to order a live animal via mail if you could imagine.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

I had a newt about a year ago but it died and I found its food pellets in my cabinet today and was wondering if my fish would like to eat them ? Would it make the tank dirty? Is it good for them? It has fish oil and fish meal and krill and a bunch of other stuff in it.

  • Am I way overstocked?

I have a 55 gallon fish tank, it has a good filter and also a bubble making machine which I heard adds more oxygen to the water.

    I have a pleco

a small gold gourami (it seems peaceful, i think its female)

    6 cory cat fish

a rainbow shark (peaceful, no problems)

    14 platies

    7 ballon mollies

    5 skirted tetra

    and 4 blind cave tetra

I really wanted to add some blue and was thinking about adding 8-10 male guppies ?

I plan on cleaning the tank 25% every other week and 75% every few months

  • 55 gallon community fish tank, will they get along, is there too many fish?

so far I have a gold gourami, a rainbow shark, 10 red wag platies, 7 cory cat fish, & 5 skirted tetra, and a small pleco (which I will rehome once it reaches too large of a size)

I wanted to know if a opaline gourami and some guppies would get along with them

    2 AnswersFish8 years ago
  • Will these fish get along together?

Okay so right now I have

a gold gourami (very friendly one, have had no problems with the other fish so far)

a rainbow shark (also leaves other fish alone)

    10 platies

    10 cory catfish

    5 skirted tetra

and then I also have 4 blind cave tetra

I wanted too know if a betta, and a couple dwarf gouramis would get along with them

    4 AnswersFish8 years ago
  • Will these fish get along, are there too many?

    okay right now I have

    3 platies

    3 swordtails

    8 cory cats

    5 skirted tetra

4 blind cave tetras (pretty large ones)

2 dojo loaches (which just hide in their cave)

    and a rainbow shark

tomorrow I wanted to get like 3 more swordtails, 6 more platies, 2-3 more dojo loaches, 2 more cories, and 2 angel fish

    6 AnswersFish8 years ago
  • Is this too many fish, will they get a long ?

    55 gallons long

    6 cory cats

    5 black skirted tetra

    3 serpae tetra

    2 angelfish

    1 gold gurami

    6-8 assorted platies

    3-4 velvet wag swordtails

    5 giant dianos

if there is room, would 2 dwarf guramis get along as well ?

or how about blue guramis ?

    thanks !

p.s. my tank has lots of plants and logs and several hiding spots for fish to hide from each other if they need to

    4 AnswersFish8 years ago
  • 55 gallon stocking, are these fish compatible?

okay I currently have 8 cory cat fish, 5 black skirted tetras, and 3 of the serpae tetras.

I was wondering if these would get along

    8 platies

    2 angel fish

    2 gold gurami

    5 sword tails (maybe)

    4 mollies (maybe)

and was also maybe thinking about getting a red tailed shark

another question, say I got a bigger tank, would a single blood parrot that was raised with all those fish as a baby get along okay with this fish ? I have seen mixed opinions online... Just a thought sorry Im somewhat new to this.

    Thanks !

  • What does it mean when an ouija board spells out your name.?

Me and friends were playing ouija board, and it spelt my name. We asked it if it liked me, and it said no. Later it said "Help him, he is with us." And then it said goodbye. Is this bad ? :O
