  • Family heading to Spain, any tips?

A family member and two young boys are heading to Spain for a holiday this summer and just wanted to know if you have any suggestions for me to pass? She is flying into Madrid, then will need to take the train to Seville to meet up with more family. I know it's quite a trek on the train, I think 5 to 6 hours(?) but do you have any suggestions? Is it fairly easy to get around?

I have always been told by friends who have gone that Spain is a pretty easy country to navigate for non-natives but I know traveling with youngin's (7 and 10) can be overwhelming.

Just want to make sure she is properly prepared.

    THANKS!!!

  • What other components does a Wii need? Clueless shopper!?

My nephews got a new Wii system for Christmas and I would like to buy some of the extras but am totally clueless what is needed. I plan on getting an extra controller and the wheel with Mario Cart. What else would be something they would use? They are both under 10 and I want to get them some of the extra's to make playing a variety of games easy but I don't know the first this about this video game system. I am an old school Atari girl so all these new systems have left me scratching my head.

For a beginner...what things are needed? HELP!

  • I have a 2008 Saturn Aura SE, what kind of oil do I need?

I am overdue for an oil change on my 2008 Aura, so I went to a Valvoline last night. I was told that I needed a special synthetic or semi-synthetic oil and it would cost me $69 bucks. I was kinda thrown because I don't have $70 bucks to drop on an oil change. This will only be my second oil change, I have less than 8K miles. During my first oil change, they said nothing about synthetic oil, I just know it uses 5W-30. I read my manual and it completely confused me, I am not a car person. It did say that if I didn't use a 5W-30 SAE oil, if anything happens to my engine that their warranty won't cover it. It is a lease but I like to take good care of my cars.

So...question is...does anyone know if I have to use a synthetic and cough up $70 bucks? I will request synthetic for sure, if it's needed. THANKS!

  • What are the benefits of hydro-clay remedial waterproofing?

There is water leaking in through our north facing, cement block basement walls. There are some cracks throughout the wall and at the base. We have had a few contractors come out who specialize in waterproofing. More than one recommended this hydroclay waterproofing, where the substance is injected into the wall cracks and base against the wall. After some research, this seems like a great option. Has anyone had any experience with this or had this done?

    Much thanks!

  • Looking for a great beginner kids guitar!! ?

My nephew is turning 5 and I made a comment about getting him a guitar and drums for his birthday. Sure enough, he remembered I mentioned it. While I know it's not something he was begging for in the beginning...I would still love to get him the guitar for the birthday and a small drum set for Christmas. His parents will hate me for it...but the drums he'll keep at my place.

Anyway...I see there are a ton of small guitar's by First Act, but I don't know if they are any good. Any suggestions/recommendations?? Obviously, he's a small boy and doesn't need a full sized guitar. :)

    THANKS!

  • Old sink needs some TLC...caulk or silicone?

My kitchen sink is really old...and I noticed that around the base of the faucet, it's not loose, but it looks dingy and kind of browned. It's one of those old white sinks. Anyway, I noticed some caulk or some other sealant around the faucet was coming up when I would wash the sink. Now, there isn't a seal around there at all and while the base of the faucet is secure, I notice that there is a ever-so-slight drip underneath the sink from where the seal is missing.

So...question is this...do I need to use caulk or silicone? What would be the best product to re-seal the faucet base? I am not a handy person, but figure I can buy a sealant and fix this issue. Any guidance is appreciated!

  • Bought tofu for the first time. Now I just want to make sure I prepare it correctly. HELP!?

I make stir-fry all the time, usually with chicken or steak. Thought I would try some tofu for a healthy (and economical) alternative. Now I just want to be sure I do it right. It's firm, packed in water. I will be using lots of ginger, veggies, napa cabbage and possibly soy sauce. Any suggestions on incorporating tofu into my stir fry successfully, so I am not afraid to make it a regular part of my diet?

  • HELP! Looking for the name of a movie from the 80's. It takes place in the "future", where Prisoner's wear...

neck tether's that will explode if the prisoner escapes. I know it sounds really obscure, but a co-worker and I are trying to remember the name. I thought it starred Rutger Hauer, but I couldn't find it IMDB.

There is a male and female lead. The lead Actress, if I recall correctly, is European.

I just remember the characters being fitted for these neck braces and a few heads exploding.

It was exactly Oscar worthy, but hey...it was the 80's!

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

  • Need recommendations for book for 6 year old...Moms! I need your help!?

I have a 6 year old nephew who just found out that he needs to get glasses to help with his eyesight.

He's a trooper and is actually excited to get them. Even told Mom styles he would like (which probably will resemble something a favorite tv character wears).

My question is...Moms or Teachers or anyone who would be familiar with good kids books...is there a good book out there for a child of about 6 to read about glasses? Something that will help him with any possible teasing or simply to learn the respondsibility of having glasses? Author's seem to write about anything and everything and I really hope there is a book out there that touches on this subject so my favorite guy (well, one of two since there are two nephews) can get himself ready for having glasses.

I know it probably isn't as traumatic or even exciting as I remember it being when I was younger, but would like to find something just right for my spec'd buddy.

Any suggestions welcome! Thanks so much!!!
