Today I was using my Toshiba A300 laptop and it unexpectedly turned off. Much like it overheated, however, it had only been on for about 15 minutes and was only lukewarm.

I left the laptop off for a few hours and then rebooted it to see how much of the CPU is being used, and it goes from 1% to 15% useage so I know its not that the CPU is being overloaded.

Does anyone know what's causing this or does anyone have any solutions of how to fix the problem.

I've tried taking the battery out and using it just with the adapter, and the problem still occurs.

I installed Windows Live Messenger from the official Microsoft site, and instead of asking me to "Send my webcam" or "View contacts webcam", it only lets me do a video call.

And also when I click the little webcam icon, it only lets me video call...

Any suggestions how to solve this?

As the title suggests.

My girlfriend used the contraceptive pill, but she missed yesterdays. We had unprotected sex earlier today, and afterwards she realised that she missed yesterdays pill.

She took tonights pill but are still worried/unaware of what could happen.

Could this mean she is pregnant? I have no idea in these situations.

my cat has a deep corneal ulcer and this is the treatment she needs. i need to know an idea of the cost.

The other day I checked on my iPod to see how many songs I had, but it's not the same number of songs in my iTunes library. There seems to be more on iTunes than whats on my iPod.

I have the "Sync All Music" checkbox checked, and it's not set to "Sync only checked songs and videos".

I'm puzzled.

For example, on my iPod now, it says I have 7686 songs, but on my iTunes it says I have 7707.

Where have these 21 songs disappeared to?

I'm currently using the Mail app in OS X for my Hotmail account, but I only get Inbox and Trash. And when I delete emails out of the inbox in the Mail app, it doesn't afflict in the browser based mailbox and vice-versa. I would like to know if I could download something which lets me get all my folders etc, and mirrors what I do on my actual mailbox.

My MacBook's battery no longer works, I have to use the mains lead for it to even switch on, the battery status is "Battery is not charging", and the health is "Poor", which I'm thinking all this needs is a new battery, but I have read other problems like this and some people are suggesting that new Logic Boards are needed.

The Cycles count is very high on 200.

The icon doesn't have a cross in the battery it has he normal charging symbol.

Any thoughts?

I recently installed Windows 7, wiping my Windows Vista installation off my Laptop, I would now like to revert back to Vista. As I have replaced the Vista OS, I do not have the recovery disc creator software, but I do have the recovery partition in drive D. I have tried pressing F8 and F11 when windows boots, but non of them work.

Now, I'm thinking of buying a replacement disc from Toshiba, but how would I do this?

Or, is there a Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator download which could be pointed to?

I went to visit my grandmother today and she has very badly swollen legs and she says she gets leg cramps often. She's 83 and she told me not to worry, but I'm quite concerned. Do any of you know what this could be caused by? Or is there anything to relieve it?

My aunt had a Virgin Media V+ box which she bought off Virgin Media for £250 effectivly making it her property.

She's now cancelled her contract and has no use for the box anymore.

I already have a V box upstairs in my home with XL TV subscription.

Can I, if so, have the box off her and ring Virgin and tell them that I have aquired this box from my Aunt and could they add V+ subscription to my V box card so I can use it with the V+ box (At an extra cost of course)

Just to recall: If my aunt gives me a V+ box which she purchases off Virgin in 2007, could I ring Virgin and tell them this and ask them to add V+ subscription (Pause, rewind, record etc) to my existing subscription at an extra change per month.

I recently rented a house, through an estate agent. They gave me the keys for the house which turned out didn't fit the locks.

I called an emergency locksmith who changed the locks for me, but charged me £180 for doing the job.

I have been trying to get in contact with my Estate Agent about this, because as it was their mistake, I think they should be giving me the £180 charge back.

What do I do next?

My parents are divorced so therefore as I'm still in full-time education my dad pays my mum maintenance for my living costs etc.

He says that he would rather give me the money into my account as it's for me anyway, subsequently, "cutting out the middle man (Or woman..)"

I qualify for £30pw, but if he pays me the maintenance money direct into my bank account would I have to declare that I'm receiving that extra money on my EMA application form? Or would it not matter, and I would receive the full £30 weekly.

Also, if I got a part-time job whilst I attend college, would I still receive the EMA payments then?

On Windows Live Messenger, I can see other peoples webcam but when I press the small webcam icon in the bottom left hand corner (latest version) it will show the preview, and then when the contact accepts, right before it should connect it shows "The webcam session has ended." and then fails to work.

Yesterday, I bought Sony RAR-VX420 DVD/VHS recordable player because of it's "one touch converting vhs to dvd" function.

I have come to set it up on my Sony Bravia TV and its finem there's only one problem... It won't load any DVDs...

When I put a DVD in, it says "the disc cant be played, nor recorded on". This is a DVD bought from a shop, not a copied one.

I have also tried it with a DVD-R disk, which it says it can record onto, I know this because it says this in the manual, and on the sticker on the front of the unit. I get the same error message. "Cannot be played, nor recorded onto".

Have you got any suggestions on what I can do?

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32L4000 LCD TV, my problem is that when I switch it on, I would like to have it come on preset AV1 automatically.

I have my Xbox in HDMI2, PC in HDMI2 and Cable in AV1.

At current, when I switch it on, it will open with analog TV, which I don't use, and when I switch the TV off when it's on AV1, it will stop open with Analog TV.

Could anyone tell me how I can change it to switch on with AV1 automatically.

I have recently stopped using my Natwest account, and have logged in to see if there was anything left in the account. To my surprise, my balance was -£37.91.

This was "Charges" which is my overdraft fees, which I didn't even know that I even had. This was obviously one of my mistakes so I have now transferred money from my HSBC account to square up the charges.

Now, so I can avoid anymore agro with Natwest, I am wanting to close the account, is it possible for me to do this online? Or what is the best way? Letter? Or shall I just go in-store and discuss it with them, as they would probably try and sell me another account that I do not want.

I recently purchased a Sandisk 4GB SDHC card.

I put it in to the internal card reader on my laptop and it told me that I needed to format the drive first before I could use it.

I clicked 'OK' and it opened the Windows SD format card utility.

I made sure everything was correct and clicked 'Start'.

After approximatly 5 minutes nothing had happened, so I clicked cancel and tried to format again by right clicking on the drive in 'Computer'.

(Right click > Format)

After about 30 seconds, it told me nothing was in the drive. Even though it was, and in 'Computer' it was telling me there was.

I have also tried formatting by putting it in my camera but that doesn't work either.

Is there any software that could fix this?

I've tried using a Panasonic SD card formatter and the Toshiba one built into my PC, but they don't work either.

I'm going to Bulgaria on Saturday, flying with ThompsonFly from Birmingham International Airport, to Sophia Airport in Bulgaria.

I'm just wondering, as I recently purchased lots of cheap alcohol from my recent trip to France, am I allowed to bring this with me on the plane?

Can I put it in my hand luggage? Or in the main baggage?

Also, does anyone know how much Stella Artois costs in Bulgaria.

In Sterling, or even in Levi.

And one last thing, I've misplaced the travel info, does anyone know how much the maximum weight of my case could be?
