    Would a 100k salary in 30 years time be any good, or is it equivalent to an average salary today?

    Specifically for someone who graduated with a bachelor's degree in IT.

    For example, a 100k salary in 1980 is equivalent to a 280k salary in 2010 when you consider purchasing power.

    I'm expected to start on 27k after I graduate, and according to this graph, end on a salary of 100k after 30 years in the career.

    Is that even any good? How much would that equate to of a salary today?

  • Calculate the Speed?

    A thermal neutron is one that has a kinetic energy of about 1 eV. How fast does a thermal neutron travel?

    Kinetic Energy = 1 eV

    ......................... = 1 * 1.6 * 10^-19 J

    Mass of neutron = 1.008665 u

    ........................... = 1.008665 * 1.661 * 10^-27 Kg

  • Physics - Magnetic effect?

    I fully understand the relationships:

    F = BIl, F = BIl.sin theta,

    I = Q/t,

    l or d = vt,

    F = BQ/t.vt, F = BQv,

    and:

    F = ma,

    a = v^2 / r,

    F = mv^2 / r,

    so:

    mv^2 / r = BQv, mv^2 = BQvr, mv = BQr, v = BQr/m,

    and finally, r = mv/BQ

    but where does:

    t = pi*r / v

    come from, and how does that translate:

    r = mv/BQ

    to:

    t = pi*m/BQ

    i have a list in the form:

    item1,item2,item

    (separated by comma's only)

    i tried to do something like this:

    private String listofitems;

    private String[] myarray;

    listofitems = "item1,item2,item3";

    String[] myarray = { listofitems };

    but then i call myarray[0] the value i get is 'null' so obviously that don't work...

    so what's the simplest way to make this comma-separated list into an array?

    Why is it better that I investigate the water potential of CELERY rather than POTATO, for example. Is it to do with a defence mechanism of potatoes, which prevents water loss, that will ruin my results?
