  • Can a person do interview with parent regarding child abuse while child is present? (UK)?

Today my daughter whent to UK hospital with four-year-old son for eye test.

The next thing she knew was she was being questioned by a person about a small bruise near her sons eye. Questions were very intrusive and wide ranging and she is being referred to childcare services. This sudden interview was carried out in the presence of the little boy. Both left hospital crying.

Any link on www regarding how to conduct such interviews would be appreciated.

  • Why is gravity infinite at centre of black hole?

Acceleration due to gravity at the centre of the Earth is zero because an element at the centre is surrounded in every direction by the mass of the Earth which is pulling in all directions as gravity is a property of mass.

Why then is gravity at the center of a black hole not also zero? Why are we told that gravity is infinite because it is a singularity?

If you take any equation and divide by zero the result is infinity. But what about the huge mass of the black hole in every direction around the centre?

  • A referendum on the UK`s EU referendum?

The politicians keep banging on about the need for the UK to hold a referendum on whether or not the UK should stay in the EU. All people I talk to and all discussion panels on TV and letters in newspaper all say we do not want a referendum. We are not interested. Stay in the EU and get on with the job; do not use this imagined problem to cover up more serious things. So do we need a referendum to ask do we need a refendum on the EU, YES or NO?

  • Are there separate parts of the brain which do technical and and creative writing work?

I am a senior engineer who produces technical/economic reports, which take a long time. I also write short fiction stories. I find it difficult to take a break from the technical report production and relax a bit and do a short story. I keep thinking there must be separate areas of the brain which deal with these two quite separate activities and I should be able to switch from one to the other. But is this true?

  • Conversion of newtons to kw?

Check out Table 2 on following document called Aerodynamics of high-speed railway train, copy link below to search box or click on link:

    http://ompldr.org/vMXlsOA/Aerodynamics_H%E2%80%A6

Could the last line on the table possibly be wrong?

Last line says 4970N for train at 260km/h needs a power of 3590kw

    I get newtons times speed = 4970 times 72.22m/s = 358.9kw

  • How do you convert Newtons to kW?

For high speed train I have calculated the drag force as 4970 Newtons for train travelling at 260km/hr = 72.22m/s. How do I convert 4970 Newtons to kW to get the power of the electric motor on the train?

  • Are aliens in control of the Earth?

Since landing on the moon, more than 40 years ago, NASA has not established a colony on the moon. They have studiously spent untold billions in money and man-hours on anything but an establishment on the moon. In fact NASA are proud of their record of ignoring the moon. NASA now announce that they will have a US$10 billion program to send men on a one way journey to Mars. NASA have no experience of manned space travel, or equipment for use, beyond moon orbit. Intended or not, the ticket will certainly be one way.

We can see the moon; we can reach out and touch it. It is the obvious first stepping stone to the rest of the universe. Throughout the whole of human history, whenever man has been able to get to a new territory he has colonised it.

The only explanation for this strange behaviour is that after the first visits to the moon, aliens who live there possible on the unseen side of the moon, told NASA to keep off their land. NASA were told that they could do anything in the rest of the solar system but the moon was out of bounds to humans. What do you think?

  • How do Creationists date events in the past?

Scientist, historians and archaeologists use many different methods for fixing the date of origin of an artifact (or event) from the past. Several different methods are often used to cross check that there has been no error, which could be the case if only in one method were used. By these methods the time-line for the development of the Earth and mankind has been established.

What methods do Creationists use to establish their alternative time-line for the development of the Earth and mankind?

  • What is the correct road to God?

We are born and more or less everyone follows the same religion as their parents. As we grow up and are educated some people change their religion. Anyway in the world there seems to be great stress between the various religions and thus between cultures and countries.

Surely religion should be approached like any other body of knowledge or understanding;? which a person will rely upon throughout their life time. You do not start off teaching calculus to a 5 year old child (the concept of the Holy Trinity in Christianity is a bit like calculus to me) you start with simple maths of 1+1 =2.

Therefore, children should start with say Buddhism, and when they have graduated as a Buddhist they can then go on to study the religion of their choice.

  • What is the busness plan of the UK Government with respect to the bail out of the banks?

The banks got into deep trouble and in order to avert a financial crisis the UK Government decided to use a lot of taxpayers money to bail them out. So far so good.

Now what is the business plan?

1.Was this a "bail out" like a bridging loan to help the banks get out of trouble?

2.Was this an investment to secure the long term future and stability of the banking system?

If it was item 1, as we have often been told, then this money should be paid back by the banks ASAP as the banks are now back in profit. A repayment schedule should be put in place, the same as the banks would do to you and I. Therefore there would be no need for the taxpayer to live through ongoing tax increases and cuts in services.

If it was item 2, we all know that when Governments get involved in any form of nationalisation there follows disaster for the taxpayer. However, if the taxpayer is eventually going to make a good profit from its investment, as present bank profits indicate, then this potential profit can be reflected in the Government accounts and there would be no need for the taxpayer to live through ongoing tax increases and cuts in services.

Where is our money? or as it just been all thrown away in which case the taxpayer will have to live through ongoing tax increases and cuts in services.

  • Windows 7 grammar and spell checker could be better?

I am disappointed that the grammar and spell checker in Windows 7 has not been significantly improved, compared to previous versions. I write technical reports and short stories, which involve two different styles of writing. It seems that the grammar check has not been improved at all. I have on the window of this document seven “Styles” that change the heading to the paragraph, and result in using coloured ink. All very fancy but not of any significant use.
