  • Can you get a Halfway House removed from your neighborhood?

I just moved into this house a month ago and was never informed that there was a halfway house 3 houses up from me. The residents of this house are not being supervised at all. The number provided to us for the owner of the house is disconnected. The residents of the house are very unstable and one of them tried to enter a single mothers house with her four children inside, luckily it was locked. She also tried to enter our house which was locked but was able to enter the neighbors across the streets house and stole a lime, the entire time saying that no she lived in this house no this house. The peoples house she entered were not home and no one was harmed. The police told us there isn't much they can do that we need to start talking with city hall. I am a renter will this matter and realistically do yall think we could actually be successful in getting it removed?

  • A business is not refunding the full amount? Just the amount without taxes?

I recently put money on a calling card so someone in jail could call me. She was released the day I put the funds on so I called for a refund. How it works is you put $20 dollars on your account and that gets you five fifteen minute phone calls. They also charge you a processing fee of $2.00 and taxes. A total of $28.43 was charged to my card. When I called for the refund the representative said that she could only refund the $20 that shows on my account and that they have a $2.99 refund fee. I asked her what about the taxes you charged me and she had no clue what I was talking about she said it only shows $20 on your account and that is all she is authorized to refund that I would just have to wait to see what is accredited back to my card. Can they legally do this? Are they not making a profit off of the taxes I paid?

  • Needing Boys Baby Clothes!! Not much $$ where to look? Suggestions on how to get help.?

I recently reconnected with a friend who is fixing to give birth to a boy in like 5 weeks. She has had a very hard life and has nothing to speak of for herself or for her little boy. I want to help her out as much as I can but am tight on money. We live in San Antonio TX and I am looking for suggestions on how to go about getting her some maternity clothes and most importantly baby clothes and items for her son. I plan on taking her to the Goodwill and seeing if they have anything she would like but other than that I am at loss for ideas. Do yall know of any charity's or anything that would be willing to help us out? Thank you in advance for all of your advice and suggestions it is extremely appreciated.

  • Would this be considered sexual discrimination?

I work for a company that is all men, there is one other female that works there and she has been there for 7 years and I have been there for 3 years. Quarterly everyone (except for me and the other female) is invited to the ranch for a hunting frenzy. My boss pays for everything from meals, to liquor, to the kills they make. They have company hats made to be passed out and also invite customers to the event. Everyone in the company is invited either personally by my boss or thru email. This event is entered into our accounting system as an employee benefit. When I first started working there I thought it was a benefit offered to the guys in the field because at that time it was only me, the other female and the bosses dad in the office and of course he invites his dad. Now we have 3 other men in the office and they get invited but we still do not. I mean I hunt, I fish and they all know this so it's not because of that. I think it is because we are females. Can this be considered sexual discrimination?

  • MOMS: What is your ideal Mothers Day dinner?

I am wanting to make my mom a awesome Mothers Day dinner and asked her what she wanted and she says " Surprise ME!!"

I would like to do something that isn't to time consuming, something I can throw in the oven for a couple of hours and let be while we play cards and what not. Any ideas? Something not too expensive, I have a $75 budget. I would appreciate ideas for something to snack on, main course and a dessert if possible. Thanks!!

So I am cooking dinner for a old flame this weekend and he is a steak freak, so Im gonna make him some steak. BUT I dont want a plain ol steak!! I seen this peppercorn sauce on food network the other day but cannot remember who was preparing it, I have been looking online a for the recipe but the only ones I can find have tons of ingredients and this one Im seeking out is simple. I know it had Worcestershire sauce, cream, shallots, butter and the peppercorns maybe some wine? Do you think just those would make a bomb sauce? If you have a recipe please share :)
