EGO...Friend or Foe? Do you view your ego as something that is positive or something negative in your life?
As FOE...this viewpoint makes the ego responsible for keeping us separated from Source as a self-interest means for its own survival??
OR
As FRIEND...this viewpoint gives us insight into ego as an opportunity for Soul advancement by putting the tools for spiritual growth in our path as a Loving guide for our human experience??
Must the ego truly be dropped or transcended as a prerequisite for Spiritual growth??

28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat can I do to help my dog stop scratching?
It's definitely not fleas, so I don't know how to help her. I think it's allergies, but I don't know to what. She licks, bites and scratches in different spots. I feel so sad because I know she's just miserable. Does anyone know what I can do for her?

29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do a lot of people still study the Old Testament?
Isn't that why the NT was written? The OT is archaic at the least, and doesn't apply to our present world. Read it, learn from it and move on. Some of the NT doesn't apply anymore either. Why dwell in the past in stagnation? The Bible was written in terms that applied to life 2,000 years ago. Read it learn from it and move on. There's more to the story. Jesus told us, "Seek and ye shall find."
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do a lot of people still study the Old Testament?
Isn't that what the New Testament was for? For the most part it is archaic at the least. Most of it doesn't apply to our present world. Why dwell in the past in stagnation? Read it, learn from it, and move on. Why is it so hard to then think past the New Testament? Why can't people realize that the Bible was written in terms that applied to the way of life 2,000years ago? Read it, learn from it and move on. Why not search for more answers? Even Jesus told us, "Seek and you shall find."
12 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoAtheists: Why would anyone go through...?
How could anyone go through what Jesus did for no good reason?
If you believe history books that give the same descriptions as the Bible of the life and times of those days, then why do you suppose someone...anyone, would suffer the way He did just trying to make a statement of LOVE. Why do you suppose someone would purposefully put themselves through such an ordeal for nothing?

36 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Do you really think you can find salvation through Faith, alone?
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
So what makes you think that just believing is salvation?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists: What if reincarnation were true and you had to...?
What if you had to come back as a fundamentalist Christian?
31 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some believers think Jesus was God?
Jesus says in Matthew 19:16-17, And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God...
In John 14:10-12 Again Jesus tries to clarify His position with, "I am in the Father, and the Father in me. He is not saying He is God. And Jesus goes on to say, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do...
Clearly we'll do greater works than Jesus!!!
Granted Jesus was very special and had a specific purpose, but are we not all brothers and sisters? Are we not ALL children of God?
I'm curious to see how this gets misinterpreted, the quotes are from the KJ version of the Bible.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is Reincarnation disregarded by Christian religions?
Matthew 11:12-15 Infers that John the Baptist was Elias returned. Jesus said, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
Matthew 17:10-13 Again infers that John is Elias come again, this time by Jesus, Himself.
John 3:12 Jesus says, "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven , but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven.
John 9:1-3 The disciple asked Jesus, "who did sin, the man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
Luke 9:7-8 Here some people were saying John the Baptist was risen from the dead, some were saying it was Elias, others were saying it was one of the old prophets.
Catholicisms Second Council of Church Fathers in Constantinople in 533 AD deleted many direct references to reincarnation from the Bible. The dogma of Christianity conflicted with the principles of reincarnation:
a) preexistence of the soul before death
b) eternal damnation
c) resurrection of the physical body
d) original sin and "being born a sinner"
e) that all action is outside of self
f) only through faith (in our 70-80 year span) can we be completely
"saved"
Not until AFTER the council did it become sacrilegious to question of the Lord's business, or inquire as to where we have come from or to where we are going.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBelievers! If God is Infinite, and we are a part of God...?
and made in His image, do you think it is possible that we could evolve to such a degree, that we could become "like God" and create our own solar system, etc, under the guidance of the One True Creator?
Could this be part of God's Plan for Infinity? I mean, we are talking about Infinity here.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are they taking God out of our schools, and off of our currency, yet when you go to court...?
You swear on a Bible to tell nothing but the truth, "so help you God?"
Will this soon be obsolete, too?
