  • Catholics - What exactly is purgatory?

Is this like a waiting room? Do you teach that the dead person is aware that they are waiting on something to happen? Who has the power to get the person out of purgatory? How do they do it?

Serious question, I'm not trying to be snippy or rude.

What length example 3/8" ? Do you think surgical steel is the best?

I make crystal jewelry and have a request for belly bars, not sure what the best guage to buy is.

  • Have you ever attacked JW over the blood issue?

Well, "Let God be found true though every man be found a liar".

    Watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YptRya2-ihg

The armed forces now want to learn bloodless surgery from Jehovah's Witnesses.

  • Fellow Jehovah's Witness ... What would you say to her?

This is a real concern for my family. My daughter is 16, she is baptized. she has graduated high school. She does not have a job yet and is too young to start college, that will be in another 6 months or so. She attends all meetings and goes out in service (not as much as she could).

She started talking with a boy that she went through elementary school with. They were both advanced in their studies and competed, to a degree, on their performance. She scored 1/2 pt higher on an evaluation test and that became a joke between them. They lost touch for several years and he moved about an hour away. Due to cell phones and internet it was easy for them to "catch up" again. He seems to be a decent guy. He expresses an interest in studying with JW, his mother will not allow it. She has placed several publication with him and his mother. He's a junior in high school, sorta nerdy and a band geek :). He came to her graduation party and we could all see that he was crushing on her.

She understands she is not old enough to date. And that when she is old enough, she should only consider someone that has her love for Jehovah.

As a group event, we went to see some of the high school band competitions. She met many of the other band members and they began to form friendships (online & phone).

Recently she wanted to know if it would be ok to go bowling with them and get something to eat and just "hang out". It would have been her, the guy, and another couple. "We're just friends!, it's a bowling alley, it's not romantic"...

I have reasoned with her until I'm exhausted. Why can't she see that this is a decision that she should be clear on. That she would be the only witness in the group. Eventually your heart will trick you. You can only remain strong for so long under satans attacks and satan knows this is her weakness...

She said he wants to talk with me about it, in a nice respectful way. He has read most of the Bible Teach book and he agrees with the issues on immortality of the soul, hell fire, the trinity and so on,

I know that this is a deeper topic, it is "meat" not "milk" that we do not date until we are old enough to be considering a marriage mate and that means no "hanging out" with worldly friends of the opposite sex, without supervision.

This is completely foreign for him. I think he respects us but also makes comments and has attitude that we are "too extreme".

These high school teenage years are tough! They get bored so easy.

Most of this was an answer that I posted on a different question, but I would really like some other imput so I wanted to make it a question on it's own.

  • How many times can you download Adobe Photoshop off the CD?

We have the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 CD and I was wondering if you can download it onto another computer as many times as you need, or if it's only a certain amount of times. I know some CDs will only let you download the program off of it like 3 or 4 times, and then you can't anymore. Does anyone know if the Photoshop CD is this way?

  • Do you think God punishes people FOREVER in a horrible fire?

How can you explain these scriptures. Psalms 103:8-10

"(8) Jehovah is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness.

    (9) He will not for all time keep finding fault, Neither will he to time indefinite keep resentful.

    (10) He has not done to us even according to our sins, Nor according to our errors has he brought upon us what we deserve."

How in the world could we ever do something in our short 70 or 80 years that would justify our loving Father burning us for an eternity? He just said he will not for all time keep finding fault.

The price that sin pays is death. The dead are conscious of nothing at all. Ecc 9:5

He may choose to not bring you back in the resurrection for everlasting life, he may leave you in the ground as the dust you were created from. He will not torture you forever.

  • I have a light ringing in the ears, could that be from my blood pressure?

My bp is acting up. For the last week or so it keeps jumping up to 150+/100 ish. I am 48 and high bp does run in my family. It has normally been in the high 130's/high 80's.

I don't want to rush out and get on bp meds. I started walking everyday 2-3 miles, I've walked everyday for the last 2 weeks.

    I'm about 50lbs overweight.

  • Any recommendations? Who's a good author for my 15 yr old daughter to read?

She enjoys comedy and mystery. She likes a little love story but no full blown romance stuff with all the explicit sex.

She is an avid reader, she just finished Atlas shrugged and Fountain head.

She likes twist and turns with humor.

  • Who put that star in the sky and what role did it play?

Do you think the star was good or bad? Have you read the account of Jesus' birth in Matthew the 2nd chapter?

Why did the star suddenly appear and first lead the men to evil King Herod? Why did it wait while they met with the king? Why was it necessary for God to intervene and tell the men to return home a different way and not return to King Herod? Why did the angel also tell Joseph to take Mary and Jesus and flee?

Was the star good? or was it a tool being used to try and destroy Jesus? Is your heart open or will you close your eyes and be blinded to what is right there in front of you in the bible?

Do you have a star on your tree?

If you love Jesus you will read this account and pray. You will see the deception that was taking place.

What type of business would you look for?

What do you think of direct sales or as some call it multi level marketing? I'm talking about real companies like Amway or Avon, not fake pyramids that don't have a product to offer and they just want to churn people. Have you heard of Healthy Chocolate?

  • For JW only please. Should I attend this conference?

I have a business that is having a conference this weekend. It is a very important meeting that I feel I would receive wonderful training at as well as get to know people from our corporate office. The person in charge of organizing the conference booked it at a church. It is not in the main part of the church, not in the sanctuary but in a seperate building behind the church. The building is used for meetings, it has a huge room with a large cafeteria and stage with a projector. I do not know if there will be religious icons hanging up or not.

I go back and forth between should I go or not.

It is a 2 day event. Friday evening there is an executive training session and then on Sat a full day of training. People are coming in from around the country as well as from Puerto Rico.

Would you attend a meeting like this? Is there anything from the society that I can read to help me with this?
