  • Can you use a regular large pot for canning?

I have never canned before and I want to try to make my own pickles. I am looking at "canners" on Amazon and they just look like plain old big pots. (Like Dutch oven size) Does anyone know if a regular pot would serve he same purpose?

  • I'm looking for matching baby and stuffed animal outfits, any ideas?

A very close friend is expecting a baby. I have an idea for pics when the baby is sitting. I was thinking of dressing the baby to match a big teddy bear. Do any companies offer matching baby clothes/stuffed animals?

  • Why on earth would someone copy and paste their testimony here?

I'm reading questions posted by people who have serious questions regarding relationships that are affecting their lives. They are looking for answers to help their specific situations and I try hard to be helpful if I can. Three questions that I've clicked on have had the same generic copy and paste Christian testimony from "Caleb". Well Caleb, I'd love for you to copy and paste some unsolicited personal beliefs to me. See here's the thing, I'm a Christian too although I won't force it down anyone's throat. If you are truly interested in reaching out to people, aren't those people that you care so much about at least worth a personal response that pertains to their question? Have we really gotten that lazy?

  • What 1 thing over all others would make you truly happy right now?

If you could change just one thing about your life that you believe would make you happy, what would it be? If you already consider yourself to be a happy person, what do you think is the biggest contributing factor to your happiness?

  • Does it seem to get more difficult with each ear lobe piercing stretch?

I am in the process of stretching my lobes from 8g to 6g. As in: just finished the left one and dreading the right. I researched stretching thoroughly, don't skip gauges and allow months of healing between sizes. I tried last week to stretch to 6g and it wasn't possible without jamming the taper in and risking a torn lobe. Just now I managed to get the taper through, but it seems like it was a lot more difficult and is a lot more sore than with previous stretches. Any advice to minimize pain and risk of tearing? I already take a hot shower first and massage my lobes before stretching and use lubricant.

  • Do kids/teens still pass notes?

It's a slow night at work and my coworker and I (who are both in our 30's) just started playing around with paper and started folding notes. Remeber the crazy ones back in the 80's and 90's... one with a tab that you write "pull here" on, the one shaped like an arrow, etc. So we were both wondering, do students still write notes, or is this a lost art? Have notes been completely surpassed by texting?

  • Looking for a store that my 6 yr old went to on a field trip. I can't think of the name of it!?

It's a retail chain in the southeast, possibly nationwide. It's a little girl's boutique dress-up store where they give the girls make-overs. The girls get to choose a theme like rock star or princess and they also do b-day parties. My daughter went once and I'd love to take her there again, but we live in a different state now and I can't even think of the name of the place to look up their website. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Looking for an online site to make photo collages...?

Can anyone reccomend an easy to use site where I can make a photo collage to use on my myspace page? I found one a while back but cannot remember what it was called. It had several different themes with clipart frames and words to use. On this particular site, you could post your collages and people would vote on whether they liked them or not.

    Thanks!

  • Crocheted Granny Square Afghan Question?

I have made several granny square afghans in the past (one big granny square, not several small ones sewn together) and all of the patterns have the rounds starting and ending in the corner. For this pattern that I'm using, the rounds start and end in the middle of one edge, and you can see where I've changed colors. Is this normal, and is there anything I can do to make it less noticible?

  • What are some great summer boredom busters for kids that are either free or cheap?

I have three munchkins to entertain this summer, and I want to be prepared. Last year, all I heard all day long was, "Mommy, I'm bored!" Do you have any creative ideas that might keep them busy and entertained for a while?

    Thanks!

  • Biological Fathers...what was your response when your adopted child found you?

This question is for birth fathers who never knew their children. In my case, my birthparents were teenagers and I was given up for adoption at birth. I found my birthmom 8 years ago (I'm 28) and we have a great relationship. Yesterday I located an e-mail address for my birthfather, and e-mailed him a very short, non-threatening e-mail. I haven't heard back yet. If you are a birthfather, what would your response be, or what was your response when your child contacted you?

    Thanks for your input,

    Ashley

  • Question for biological fathers...?

I am 27 yrs old and I'm adopted. At the age of 20 I found my birthmom, and we have a great relationship. A couple of years ago I located my birthdad and sent him a registered letter (so I know that he got it) basically saying that I would like to get to know him either online, by phone, by mail, or whatever he felt comfortable with. I told him that I was just curious to hear his side of things, and that I wasn't looking for a dad, just curious about where I came from. I never heard anything from him. Should I try again? What's the best way to approach this situation?
