Why did the Lord only save one child?
On Facebook a few days ago I saw a picture of a small child with a burn mark on his neck where he was nearly strangled by an unsecured blind cord. One of the commenters had written "I see the effects of blind cord strangulation in A&E all the time - the Lord saved your boy!!" and so I wondered why the Lord didn't save those other poor children...?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoCan I keep my no claims if hit by an uninsured driver?
I live in the UK - I have a fully comp policy but didn't protect my no claims. (I know - doh!)
I was recently hit by an uninsured, hit and run driver and have had to make a claim. Does anyone know if I stand a chance of being able to protect my no-claims as the bump wasn't my fault?
I have a witness and (probably) CCTV footage. The police are waiting for the driver to complete a form to determine if he was really the driver on that day. I'm currently liable for the Excess.
7 AnswersInsurance & Registration8 years agoHow long did your new adult cats take to settle in?
We have recently brought home two adult siamese cats who have been living for the entire 18 months of their lives with their breeder (and her other cats) indoors only. I know she cared for them well and she told us they were affectionate and outgoing.
Since moving in here (to our family home with two gentle & caring but noisy children) they haven't come out much. For the first week they had a (quietish) room to themselves but when they asked to come out one evening we allowed them to quietly explore. In the evenings they pad quietly around the house, carefully avoiding us. When we go to bed they play loudly around the house and madly up and down the stairs. When morning comes they hide back under the bed where they remain all day.
They're both using the litter tray and appear to be eating well.
I'm curious to know what experiences other owners have had in settling adult cats, rescue or otherwise.
3 AnswersCats10 years agoRecipe for chocolate pudding edible from the freezer?
I've been asked to provide a chocolatey pudding for a large barbeque party that we'll be attending immediately after a weekend away - so we'll have to get home, change clothes and set off for the party with our pudding almost directly out of the freezer.
I know, you're thinking of a chocolate bombe right? The trouble is, the hosts of the party had a chocolate bombe the last time they came to our house... can you help?

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy do we get a raised temperature when we're ill?
Is there any benefit from a raised temperature when we're fighting an infection?
What causes the temperature to go up?
Although I understand in small children it is unwise to allow high temperatures because of the possible risk of fitting, do we override the benefits(?) of a raised temperature by taking drugs like paracetemol?

It seems neither schools nor parents correct poor grammar or spelling - don't people care any more?
27 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoWhat shall do with my turkey escalopes for dinner?
To put with them we have:
tinned tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, a good selection of fresh & dried herbs & spices, rice, pasta and new potatoes, frozen peas, tinned sweetcorn, fresh spinach, mange tout or stir fry veg.
We have an oven, grill, hob or microwave and are competent cooks.
We like to experiment with flavours so more unusual recipies score high - it's got to be edible.
Suggestions please:

Does anyone sell Horlicks Tablets (Malties) in the UK?
Links for UK websites would be welcome - or if not, US sites would make a good 2nd best.
Thanks
8 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHow can I relieve the symptoms of restless legs?
I am 6 months pregnant and when I try to sleep, the baby wriggling causes my legs to twitch involuntarily. Sometimes my legs simply feel restless as if they want to go running just when I'm ready to drop into sleep. It keeps me awake for hours and I badly need some rest. For the past few months cutting out caffiene has helped but the symptoms are getting worse as the pregnancy progresses. I'm not prepared to take drugs of any description whilst pregnant.

I have a crafts site http://www.shaggydogcrafts.com/ and am considering writing instructions so people can make their own tiaras - also I make and sell ready made designs which the kits would be based on http://www.harrisonwalton.info/ - how much do you think people would pay for a ready to make kit?
