Pieces like Smetana's "Vltava?"?
I'm looking for other pieces like Smetana's "Vltava." That grandiose sound– a sense of vastness in both size and time– is what I really want. A build is preferred, and I like the Eastern European feel from the minor key. I'm not picky. Modern composers and sources from media like movies are fine. Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersClassical5 years agoBird/Insect that sounds like a Geiger counter?
I live in middle Virginia, and for the last week, I've been hearing an animal/insect in my yard that counts like a loud Geiger counter.
More precisely, it sounds like one of these:

One of those frog-shaped percussion instruments that makes a clicking sound when you run a mallet over its ridges.
It's not a marsh wren (which is what pops up in Google searches), and it's too small to be a starling. I can't find it anywhere when I try to identify the source of the sound.
What the heck am I hearing?
2 AnswersZoology7 years agoVintage tone Christmas lights?
I keep seeing these vintage-tone, multi-color Christmas lights. Instead of being really bright jewel tones or neons, the colors are very soft and the whites are a nice glowy yellow.
Where can I get them? Thanks!
1 AnswerChristmas7 years agoThe best dairy-free chocolate?
A friend of mine did me a huge favor, and I'm putting together a "Thank You" basket for her. She loves the taste of milk chocolate but has to avoid dairy products.
Would a connoisseur of dairy-free chocolate tell me which brands are the best (and why, especially if certain kinds of the same brand are better than others)? I don't mind paying a little extra for something that tastes as close to the real deal as you can get.

I have an iPhone 5, but my computer is so old that I can't run the latest version of iTunes on it. This means I can't sync my iPhone to my computer at all.
I have a sound clip on my computer I want to make into a ringtone. It's already an m4r; I just need a way to transfer it to my phone without connecting my phone to my computer. Is there any way to do this without jailbreaking?
Thanks!
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years agoDoes your insurance company cover complementary/alternative therapies?
I'm wondering what private health insurance companies offer coverage for complementary/alternative medicine (CAM), like massage and biofeedback. Does your insurance cover CAM? What therapies are covered, and do you need special referrals or approvals to qualify? Are your insurance rates halfway decent?
Thanks!
4 AnswersAlternative Medicine8 years agoSea salt soap from Whole Foods– what brand is it?
A few years ago, the Whole Foods in my area carried a brand of sea salt soap. The bar was round and kind of substantial, was a light green color and had a Celtic knot pattern on the top of the bar. If I'm not mistaken, it was a sea salt soap, and the box was either brown or green.
Does anyone know what brand it was?
