It's from a line in a poem:

'Among tar-banded ancient cherry trees'

I've got to write this essay and want to include this line so I was wondering what kind of word it was, I though it might be an adjective but then I had a weird thought that it might be a verb...

Normally I'm good at this kind of stuff but this one just has me a bit confused so if you could help that'd be great, thanks :)

I don't know whether to use 'censor' or 'censure'. I've looked up the definitions but I'm still not too sure.

I'm writing about the war and I need to talk about how in the Vietnam War they didn't censor/censure things in the media as much, but I don't know which one to use, my teacher writes 'censor' but my information booklet says it 'censure' so I don't know. =S

I need to use it in this context:

"...made no official attempt to ______ the reporting..."

In the film 'Bowling for Columbine', in particluar the bit about the what happened at the school - which shows the CCTV footage and you can hear the 911 calls, well the section we're looking at is from when he goes into the school and we see the school sign until the interviews with the students (happening straight after the shootings) ends and it fades out to black. Basically I need to know about the editing techiniques used there and how that creates amotion for the viewer and makes them feel like they are actually experiencing the shootings.

Please help it's the only bit I can't do. I've already writen about the cinema verité, the use of the real film, split screen, non-diagetic sound and camera angles. But I'm not sure what to write about the editing techniques or how they create emotion and make the viewer feel they are experiencing the shootings.

For a piece of coursework for English I need to write a story in the style of a gothic novel, and I do have an idea for a story, but the main character would be a witch.

Not a scary horror witch, but like a normal person who everyone suspects of witchcraft (it's set way in the past) but i need to know; were there witches in Gothic Novels?

I know there were vampire (Daracula) and monsters/creatures (Frankenstein) but I don't know about witches so if anyone could help it would be great.

Ok so I know loads of people ask stuff like how to concentrate but I really need help!

Ok so I have this music project that has to be in on Tuesday and I have to do these song appraisals(spelling?)but anyway, I've still got 5 songs to before then as well a a contents page, front cover, and way way more, but I can't concentrate!!! I'd be fine at school, but I'm not there, so I don't know what to do. I get distracted in my bedroom, downstairs up stairs, everywhere! The only place where I'm fine is outside, but I can go out there cos its wet, cold and windy!

And not just do I need help concentrating but does anyone know how I can work any faster cos when I enjoy summat I work kinda fast but this is just getting a bit repetative so I'm getting bored and working slower, so please can someone help me on how to make the work more fun and how I can work fastr.

You know Charlie put the music on in the background and was singing along to it...well can any one please tell me the name of the song and who its by please!

Who thought of the name volcano and how? Is it that it has links to other words in other languages that mean similar things? Or was it named after the person who first studied them? Or was it just a random thought?
