  • Should we get our Jack Russell a friend?

We have a Jack Russell Terrier who just turned three. We have one son who just turned two and a 2nd who is 7 months. We think he is jealous of our sons. Our jack seems lonely and although we still pay attention to him, he seems to feel rejected. This leads to an occasional accident in the house (once a month or so), which makes me CRAZY. We have tried re-training (positive only... Jack's don't do well with negative) We have tried being nicer, paying more attention, teaching our oldest to throw the ball for him etc. Being a Jack Russell, they are known not to like other animals; however our dog is VERY well socialized. He doesn't like cats, but does do very well with other dogs. So does anyone have any experience with this? Would getting another dog possibly help his jealously issues? We are not willing to give up on him, but we do want him to be happy... and not potty in the house!! Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

  • Weight Loss...?

Any tips? I already count my calories (1300-1400 per day), I already know what my body burns as far as basal/lifestyle and daily activity (running, biking, weights etc) I should be losing weight... and I still am not losing. I do 30 minutes minimum of exersice a day. Cardio everyday, strength training every other day.

I have lost 20 pounds which is great, but this week, nothing... I am stuck. Any additional tips?

  • Baby announcement!?

I am on here answering a lot, and thought you might all like to know that our son has arrived. Jack James was born 11/14, 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. He was 4 weeks early, born emergency c-section due to having tacacardia (fast heart beat, unknown reason) He was in NICU for 2 days, but he is fine. It was an amazing surreal thing. I was airlifted to a hospital 30 minutes from my home... very hard, but all is good now. Just thought you all might like to know.

  • How likley is it that they would induce early if I am having issues?

I am 34w and 1d, I was induced last pregnancy at 41w and 4d. This time, I was hoping to go into labor by myself. I have a Dr. Appt today for the issues I've been having. I just wonder if anyone knows whether these are reasons to induce early or not. I don't think any would harm the baby, just me.

    1. Sciatic-hip pain, severe. To the point I need help walking and can't put weight on my right foot 3 times a week or so.

    2. Can't sleep, even with unisom.

    3. PUPPS rash

    4. Nerve pain, feels like I'm getting a shot over and over again in my thigh.

Obviously they wouldn't induce now, it's too early. Anyone had these and been induced around 37/38 weeks?

Please no "go to the DOCTOR" remarks, I have an appt this afternoon, just hoping for some insight while I am sitting and waiting to go.

  • Has anyone ever had problems with the baby moving too fast?

First of all, I have already put in a call to my doctor, and am waiting for a call back, so please no "call the doctor" OR "go to the doctor" I am already trying that. Please I am looking for an answer from someone who maybe has been through this.

I am 26 weeks with my 2nd son, and the baby is moving so fast I can't count the movements. Has anyone else ever had that happen? He will do that for 2 to 4 minutes, calm down and then go back to normal for an hour or two, and then the fast movments come back. It feels like my whole insides are vibrating... very strange!

Thanks in advance for the answers, hopefully my doctor will call back soon... she is just so busy!

  • Is it me? Or is my sister easy to upset?

So... She is pregnant. And when I first found out, she asked me not to tell our family things about the pregnancy, her situation etc. I respect that, and abide by it at her request. Today I asked her if she would be upset if I told our mom what she still wanted on her baby wish list. She got mad at me. Said that she is annoyed that I am asking her that. But... It falls under the whole "don't tell the family anything unless I say it's okay" deal, doesn't it?

It seems like no matter what I say, it's wrong. I can't tell them anything, but then I can. Everything changes... daily. I know pregnant people are hormonal... but, this just doesn't make sense. I was just trying to make her happy. I told her that... her only response. 'okay' She is still mad or annoyed or whatever...

Am I crazy? Or is she just being unreasonable?

  • We can't decide, help?

We are trying to pick a boys name and are having a hard time. So which would you chose?

    Gabriel

    Conlan

    Grayson

They are all good, but we can't decide.

Also, if you don't like any of the names, that's fine... but please no rude comments, if you don't have something nice to say... say nothing. Thanks for the help!

  • Can someone tell me what is wrong with these people?

In the last two weeks or so, I have seen two occasions in the news where parents have left their small chilren in their cars (no windows open, no a/c on) on 90+ degree days. I would like to know what in the hell they are thinking?! One baby almost died, and if officers hadn't gotten their in time and cooled him off with an ice pack from their own personal lunch pail, the infant would have died. I just don't understand these people. I have children, and would never DREAM of leaving them alone in a hot car, not even for 1 minute!! The parents excuses both times "I was only gone for a few minutes" Not an excuse. One car was 150 degrees inside. Am I wrong to feel SO strongly about this?

  • Organic Garden?

I am noticing bite marks out of my green beans, yellow neck squash and cucumber plants. I don't notice any bugs other than ants. What kind of non-chemical pesticide/bug deterrent can I use?
