  • Tumors/fibroids blocking cervix?

This may sound a little odd, but is it possible for a tumor or fibroid to block the cervical opening--making it impossible for menstrual blood to pass? If so, would your body continue to try and have periods, even though there is a build-up of menstrual fluid?

  • What could these symptoms mean?

What could these symptoms indicate for a woman in her early 30's who has given birth twice, is not pregnant, not using hormonal birth control, and has been married/in a monogamous relationship for 12+ years? What tests/treatments would be suggested?:

*Large amount of discharge, that is not foul-smelling and varies in color/consistency throughout the month--for several years.

*No itching, but a mild burning or raw sensation inside and outside of vagina--for about a month.

*Regular, but heavy periods with large blood clots--for about four years.

*Occasional spotting between periods and brief pain around the ovaries (associated with ovulation?)--for a couple of years.

*Dark spots appearing on face, especially on the upper lip and a bit of an increase in darker facial hair--for about four years.

*Fatigue and depression (taking an anti-depressant)--for several years.

*A bloated-looked lower abdomen in pelvic region (in a woman with a thin waist and within correct weight)--for several years

*Pain during intercourse, esp. when deep--for a couple of months.

*One or two tiny hard bumps inside of vagina--for a couple of months.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

  • Anti-anxiety meds before doc visit?

I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety and have taken an anti-depressant/anxiety medication for years. But I still have an extreme fear of doctors (especially gynecologists, due to some bad past experiences) and medical procedures--to the point where I have panic attacks days before the appt. (let alone actually during the appt.).

Problem is, I am having some gyn problems that need to be checked. This anxiety is just as much physical as it is mental and telling me to "just get over it" will not help. Would it be too out-of-the-ordinary for me to call up the gyn's office and request that I be given a very small prescription for an intense anti-anxiety medicine (not something to knock me out, but something to keep me from having a panic attack) that I could take the morning of the appt.? Or would the receptionist laugh me off the phone? If not the gyn, then would a mental health doctor be willing to do this? Thanks in advance for your help and understanding.

  • Legal aspects of publishing compilations?

I have just begun compiling real-life experiences from people who have contacted me voluntarily (mostly through e-mail). Legally, what do I need from these people in order to publish their stories?

    Thanks!

  • Is OTC progesterone cream really effective?

I have a mild gyno problem with hormones. Since I really do not want to be put on medication/pills for it, I was recommended to try over-the-counter progesterone cream. Problem is, I have trouble believing that something just rubbed on like a lotion everyday will have any discernible effect on the symptoms within my body (except maybe over a course of several years).

Am I wrong? Does anyone have any personal experiences they would like to share on this cream?

    Thanks!

  • Right angles, hypotenuse, finding lengths, etc...

I just had a question on a test in my Algebra course in which I could not solve correctly. It goes something like this...

In a right angle, one leg is 17 feet shorter than the other leg. The hypotenuse is 25 feet. What are the lengths of the two legs?

Please work this out for me so I can see what I did wrong. Thanks!

  • Wal-Mart Hiring Freeze?

I applied at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago (don't give me attitude about that because I've applied everywhere and no one seems to be hiring for the hours I need---I don't have much choice). I applied for just a general stock-person position.

When I didn't get a call (especially since I've worked briefly for Wal-Mart in the past), I called today to ask if my in-store computer application had been reviewed. I got a manager on the phone who didn't look up my application and (rather curtly) told me they were having a hiring "freeze" before nearly hanging up on me.

I've never heard of this before. Does this sound like an excuse? If they were doing this, why didn't they shut down their application machine in the store or put up a "not hiring now" notice (as well as take their "now hiring" ad off Monster.com)?

Anyone have experience with this and how long a "freeze" usually lasts?

  • Are people usually hired after an interview appointment with Sears?

Their online application automatically gives you an appointment time for an interview. Does this usually mean they are willing to hire? Or is it hit and miss?

  • Freelance Writing?

I have a few questions about freelance writing...

(All questions assume the writer actually has talent and acceptable work):

    1. Is it better to write an article and search for somewhere to have it published, or look for specific requests for topics and then write the article and hope it is accepted?

    2. How many submissions does a typical freelance writer send out a month and how many normally get accepted?

    3. How much does a freelance writer typically earn in a year (or per article)?

    4. If you are one (or have been one), do you feel it is a waste of time or worth the effort?

    5. Give me some examples (besides Associated Content---who frequently offers their writers $3 for time-consuming articles) of good companies/publications/sites to submit work.

    6. What is the best book out there that lists places for writers to submit their works for payment?

    Thanks!

  • Training at Home Depot?

How does Home Depot train their entry-level sales employees for specific departments (such as flooring/carpeting)?

Is it completely on-the-job, or do they give the new employee training manuals and actual courses?

    Thanks!

  • Are there any attainable part-time jobs out there that DON'T require you to commit to evenings and weekends?!?

Sorry---Just venting. I live in the Dayton, Ohio area and can only work weekdays (mornings and early afternoons) and every job to which I've applied seems more obssesed with evenings and weekends than with my work experience.
