How can I get a mac using osx 10.6.2 to connect to an HP 4050N printer?
Apple says they have abandoned appletalk, and they seem to have absolutely no interest in helping.
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoHow do you pour gas into a car from one of those new gas cans?
My friend bought a new, 5-gallon cas can to take an emergency supply on a camping trip. It has a CARB-compliant nozzle, that's supposed to protect the environment. The nozzle won't fit into the fuel opening of my 2004 Toyota Sienna, so when you push the nozzle into the opening to make the nozzle open up to let gas flow, most of the gas just splashes out onto the ground. Any ideas?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy don't Christians believe in turning the other cheek?
It seems to me that Jesus was pretty specific about this. How can a major Christian leader justify advocating the assassination of Hugo Chavez just because he says nasty things about us? How do Christians justify trying to retaliate for 9/11?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are the tax consequences of converting from IRA to Roth IRA?
I will have a relatively low Federal taxable income this year. If I convert, say $100,000 from my traditional IRA to my Roth IRA, will that "income" push me into the same bracket as if it were real income? Does my total income including the converted amount have to stay below the threshold for allowing a Roth conversion? Will this trigger AMT?
5 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoDoes Dick Cheney still hold Haliburton stock?
A friend insists that Vice President Cheney refused to divest his holdings in Haliburton when he took office. Can this be true? If so, it certainly stinks of conflict of interest when he pushes the Iraq war, and when Haliburton's KBR gets fat no-bid contracts.

When I try to create one, the choices are WAY too limited, and I don't want to use a photo.
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhat external hard drive can I use with my Dell Inspiron 7500 Laptop?
The tiny (by today's standards) internal drive is full. I don't want to replace it, but to attach an external drive, that I could use later with a newer computer. USB connector is 1.0, no firewire. 9-pin serial port Dell calls DTE.

Where do they think that plane went? Who do they think fired the missile?
10 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat is the best battery powered drill?
There is a bewildering array of power drills available today, in a wide price range. What, in your experience, is the best, and why? How important is NiMH battery, as opposed to NiCad, for a homeowner who may not touch the drill for months? What features do you feel are most important?
7 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoHow do I work in attic?
Our roof is one of those built with pre-assembled trusses, so the attic space is not really an attic. There is very thick blown insulation, so I can't see the joists. I assume there is no walkway under the insulation, so I'd break through the ceiling below if I stepped between the joists. Should I haul in some boards to walk on, and just lay them on top of the insulation? If so, is it OK to leave them for future work, or will they significantly reduce the insulation value?
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy use stranded wire in light fixtures?
I need to rewire a ceiling fixture where the sockets and some of the wires have deteriorated because of heat, even though we nexer use more than the recommended max 60 watt bulbs. The only wire I could find in my shop is Romex, which, of course, is solid wire, so I have to make a trip to Home Depot. I'll do that, but it started me wondering, why do we use solid wire in walls, but only stranded in fixtures? Is it because it's more flexible? Does it make better electrical connections with wire nuts?

I'd like to be able to access a calendar of which publicly traded companies will announce earnings on particular days.
