2 AnswersHomework Help9 years agoQuotation marks & period punctuation: which is correct?
The difference between the following two sentences is the PERIOD at the very end. Is it supposed to be there, since there is already a question mark (even though the question mark is inside the quote)???
Which is correct, 1 or 2 thanks!!! I'm writing a paper...
He says, “what did [the chaplain’s] God or the lives people choose or the fate they think they elect matter to me when we’re all elected by the same fate, me and billions of privileged people like [the chaplain] who also called themselves my brothers?” (115).

1 AnswerHomework Help9 years agoWhy do some people not capitalize "church" in the names of churches, like "Catholic church"?
Isn't this grammatically incorrect? Whenever I see this, like "Anglican church" or "Catholic church," it makes think the person is being disrespectful or is at least shy about it. It annoys me when I see it in the newspaper or wherever.
Proper nouns are supposed to be capitalized!
So is there some bias? Or what is the reason?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoAstronauts, race car drivers, and brain surgens. Are these "cliche" careers? Or not?
Everyone has heard of the three extraordinary careers: astronauts, race car drivers, and brain surgens. But what literay term or classification would this be? Is it a cliche? These jobs are always grouped together when talking about "reach for your dream" kind of jobs.
I'm writing an essay and don't know if these would be considered "cliche" careers. What other literary terms (or an word) would describe this?

15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOh, please, PLEASE, show me some of the "hate-filled bile" coming from the Pope on homosexuals.?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoATHEISTS, Do you ever consider God; CHRISTIANS, Do you ever doubt God's existence?
I'm sure all atheists have at least once wondered about God, and I'm sure there's at least one point in every Christian (or any Theist's) life where he/she doubts if God's really there.
Please explain and be honest. Blunt "NOs" kind of shows your arrogance...
