You see how the ends look (all of it actually)? That "softness"? How do I get that? Straightening, thinning?

(I don't know all that much about hair so detailed advice would be nice)

Or even, imagine that I now have all-around long hair. Never did anything with it. How do I get my hair like that in the picture? Cut it where? Manage it how? Do what to it to get it like that initially and do what to maintain it?

I just turned on my CFL light bulb and it's very dim and flickering! It's only about two weeks old. Do I need to replace it or will it fix itself??

I'm a freshman in high school currently and my school of choice would be Ohio State University. I got my ACT scores today and I got a composite score of 31. The writing part wasn't graded yet.
