  • What does 'SIMOO" mean on a bazooka practice round?

A friend has an old practice round for a WWII bazooka. On it is stamped the word or acronym SIMOO. Anyone know what it means?

  • Tumbling agates: Should you break up whole ones before tumbling? How much should you 'smooth' them?

I've been tumbling some found agates, and I really don't know what I'm doing. Most of the stones are pre-broken fragments, but I've found a couple of whole stones by a riverside. After doing a rough tumble of the whole stones I saw that they didn't show much 'striping', so I broke them open with a hammer and chisel in order to display the patterning. Was this a really bad idea?

Also, the 'rind' of the agates have various degrees of pitting, and it seems that if I rough tumble some of the stones to get rid of all the pitting I'll have very small stones left. Is a little pitting OK, or should I get rid of the pits completely and take the hit on the stone size?

  • '99 Kia Sephia - fusebox digram?

In the 10 years I've owned my Sephia, both the inside fusebox cover and the owner's manual have disappeared. Chilton's says, basically, 'refer to the owner's manual'. Does anyone have a source for a fusebox diagram for the inside fusebox?

  • M1 Carbine - Did I get a good deal?

A co-worker is retiring and moving back home to Guatemala. Guatemala is one of those silly countries which doesn't allow its citizens to own guns in military calibers, Thus, he has to 'unload' several of the 'toys' he's acquired during his stay here. He'd already sold his SKS to another co-worker for $75.00, but when I talked to him he offered me an M1 Carbine for $150.00 which I immediately snapped up. It is, according to the barrel markings, an Underwood produced in January of '43 and came with a sling and oiler, one 15 - and two 30 -round magazines. and a 50-round box of Lake City military surplus ammunition (which I immediately used up sighting in and target shooting). The metal is fairly worn, and the stock is in pretty rough shape, but I understand M1s are getting a little uncommon so I reiterate my question:

  • Where/when is the pro wrestling bout this Thursday, Feb 15, in the Twin Cities area?

A co-worker of mine's son is slated to be on a pro wrestling card this Thursday, February 15th, as part of the 'Soul Brothers' tag team. He wants to have some of us show up for support, but can't remember where or when exactly this event is to occur. Does anyone know the location and time of this bout? Can I get a link?

  • Where on the Internet can I find a copy of a Coast Guard report regarding a specific rescue?

I was on a sailboat attempting a Pacific crossing that had to be towed back to Honolulu by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1993. I would like to see a copy of that report for details to 'flesh out' a book I'm thinking of writing.
